I've always been fascinated with history and rail travel here in America so last year we decided to take a vacation inspired by the late 1800's: a rail adventure to Yellowstone National Park! Check the description for details on how you could do the same. Hope you all enjoy!
Im extremely jealous but also glad that you had a good time, Theodore Roosevelt made the best call in history to preserve this park for future generations.
Another great video Dave and despite being different from the normal content here it’s very fitting for you to have this kind of content since you are our Ranger Dave who guides us through historical games and life adventures alike!
16:03 Thank you for showing us this video Dave. I really miss seeing those large Mountains all around me. I can't wait to see what comes next. Take care my friend and have an awesome day
This is so beautiful!! I went to Yellowstone once when I was about 9, this brought back great memories thank you. Every part of this video is fabulous, I especially loved the music 😇
Hey Dave. I know I'm a year or so late to this video, but I've watched it a couple of times now, and I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it! I've come to your channel just within the last few months (Thanks Battlefield 5), and I have watched a great deal of your videos. You have a woefully underrated channel, and I appreciate the time and effort you put into your content, there's not a single video I've seen that I haven't enjoyed, and I suspect there never will be. Thanks for the great footage and excellent production, and I wish you the best for the future!
Beautiful video, very professional. More to the point ... it makes me want to take the same trip. Generally, I prefer ambient background sound (especially onboard trains) but you did manage to record some great music ... uh, unlike a lot of the hideous crap on other videos. Thanks for posting!
I wish i sat on a train from the east to the westside of the states, from Chicago to San fransisco..... just like in the movie 'Silver Streak', the one with Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor. I suppose that would be the trip of my life.......call me nostalgic, but i`m serious. I wish..............
This is the first video I've seen of yours and it was beautiful. Wonderful photography and great editing. Were you able to book the tours through Amtrak directly? Thank you for a wonderful video.
I NEED to know the source of this music especially the first tune " ...Let the river flow...". PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! This is a great video and music combo.
Aw, I was hoping for a shot of my town's little Amtrack station. Also, sorry about Burlington, IA. No particular reason, just sorry you had to see it at all. XD
Awesome footage of the trip! While on the train did you have a lot of Amish/Hutterite passengers traveling with you? The few train trips I've taken have all been majority Amish which left me feeling out of place haha
We definitely had a few! Given our train was heading so far West we had a ton of older vacationers - we were also the youngest couple in our hiking tour group by about 25 years haha
Our trip to Yellowstone was a good and bad experience. First after getting off the flight at Salt Lake City airport and went to pick up our rental car at NU rental car near the airport, we were scammed by the rental company . The office woman told us the car we rented through Hotwire is not allowed to the state Wyoming where Yellowstone National park located unless we pay more and upgrade our compact car to 4 wheel drive SUV . The price of the upgrade is 410 dollars extra that is double the price of Hotwire listed price. So we are in their hostage because if we don’t pay it we don’t go. Finally we were left with no other choice but agree to pay. To make the story short we enjoyed the whole trip to Yellowstone and the surrounding areas liked The city of Jackson and Grand Teton park. My bad experience did not end there. On our trip back to San Francesco we purposely took the Amtrak instead of flying . That was a big mistake. We boarded the train depot at Salt Lake City ,about 4 hours after departing the station the freight train in front broke down and died on the only track for more 20 hours. So instead of only taking 17 hours trip it took us for a total of 37 hours on a coach seat with no shower or meals. The main complain on this trip is the car rental company NU Rental Company who scammed us 410 dollars . Watch out for this company even though it has the lowest bid in the first sign but you will pay much more in the end.
Seems like it might be a great soultion to yeloowstones heavy summer traffic. Eliminate traffic and hire on a bunch of trains. Thats how people see the park, by rail only. Traffic in much of the park would be banned except authorized users.

In early 80’s on BMW motorcycle 🏍 trip rode and visited Yellowstone National Park 🏞 from Missouri! 😊
Absolutely breathtaking! Thank you for sharing this with us General!
Hey there. Excellent video! We love Amtrak and we love Yellowstone!

And TR was an 'evil' Republican!
@@mikewrasman5103 Republicans became evil after Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act.
@@mikewrasman5103 The two parties flipped platforms and the republican's opposition to FDR was a contributing factor to that.
I used to work in Yellowstone beautiful place. I was a line cook at the Lake Hotel.
Love the music collection. Thank you.
Stunning video and breathtaking scenery. Thank you, Teddy Roosevelt! This is on my bucket list for sure. Thank you for the video!
This video is truly breathing

I can’t wait for the summer. Thank God for Trains.
Yellowstone is awesome and your photography shows that. Good job.

Your music selection is superb.

I like it
Beautiful park and video - this nature must be conserved. Its why we need to fight climate change and protect the environment no matter what
absolutely stunning. I envy your trip
Best video I've seen. This is my dream trip.
Love American trains so much one of my memories as a kid was seeing a cargo train go past front to end it took 10 minutes
Ok I'm exagerating it wasn't 10 mins but it felt like a long time
Who am I kidding I didn't even see a train
IM NOT EVEN ALIVE
For the Amtrak vacations package was transport provide to and from hotels and was sightseeing included and paid for with transport in package
Beautiful video and music, thanks so much for sharing. I honeymooned in Yellowstone so brought back some great memories 👍
Beautiful video and soundtrack! My family reunions are held at Yellowstone every few years - looking forward to July♥️
Nicely done !
Those graphics are so realistic 😊
Beautiful, i love 'merica

Well thanks Italy! 😁 Hopefully I'll be exploring some history over there one day as well

Did you know that priests/preachers can travel by train for free in Wyoming? Although all passenger railways in Wyoming were disbanded years ago.
Such beatiful lanscapes, and very nice editing Dave. Thank you very much for sharing. What's the name of the first song, about the river?

Music selection is superb. Could you give us some info on your play list please?
Man I love this video. The nature looks unreal.
Are you going to record any shooting competitions soon?
I also love the music, wonderful video. Who sing those songs?
Started off by Bethesda, ended up in Hope county.
This is a good deal for older people.
Yellowstone Park would make a good area to explore in a Fallout game.
how much did that cost?
Can you share the titles and artists of your soundtracks? Fantastic music and fantastic video

Yes, you can book through Amtrak directly. Just go to either the Amtrak or Amtrak Vacations websites.
Did you do the recommended shuttle Dave? Are you giving us the hindsight 20/20 experience?

The Title is VERY MISLEADING. You CANNOT take a Train to come within 350 miles of Yellowstone National Park.
Wait, you have a wife.
And once this December rolls around, a son too! It's a little unnerving isn't it? 😀
at any point are u aloud to get off the train and explore
