    SRPEN -serpenʹ - серпень, а LISTOPAD (listy padají) - листопад (lystopad)

    Wow, this is the difference between a great teacher and a bad one. My first teacher just looked at the pages in a Lida Hola book featuring the months and said "Sorry you just have to memorize these names".

    • @slowczech
      @slowczech  2 роки тому

      Come on, every language has its logic. The words came from somewhere, they are not just a random mix of lettres (like the French is 😅 No, just repeating the common joke). I like searching the sense in any word in any language. But in Czech it's more present I would say. Odstranit = od (away), strana (side), put away to a side, delete. Spokojený = s (with), pokoj (peace and calm), with calm, content. Or I like 'podzim' which to me is 'under winter', so before, pod + zima.
      But thank you very much for your comment and compliment. Hopefully now those weird names of month make sense 😉

      @Blah dI Blah Díky :-)))) But, maybe not, its always up to you to do the work. But its true that the slowczech goal is to create a working team "teacher-student(s)" so that both sides enjoy the process of learning. And honestly, I havent seen a language school, yet where you can choose your tutor (before even starting and when in a group). Which is the basics of basics - to be with the people you like spending time with. Eliška

    It's interesting that in Croatian srpanj is the 7th month and listopad is the 10th, so harvest is earlier and leaves start falling earlier 😉 maybe the climate in Croatia is more mild, but in December time and nature has caught up as for December it is the same prosinac/prosinec🤗

      @@slowczech siječanj January it means cut (wood), veljača/Februay, stems from velja noč, a Slavic feast, ožujak/March is the deceptive month (related to the weather in this period), travanj/April stems from trava/grass, svibanj/May is related to svib i.e. dogwood, whereas lipanj/June relates to lipa/linden, srpanj/July, we know, kolovoz/August, relates to carriage that is collecting the harvest, rujan/September the same as řijen in Czech, listopad/October we know, studeni/November is very similar to your leden and means cold, icy and prosinac/December we know 🙋🏻‍♀️
