But now if you see him, he has ruined his life by putting extra pressure on his bones and muscles as we all know he started walking at the age of 12. Shoaib making these great batsmen from NZ look like club cricketers whilst playing with bad injuries.
These days good batsmen such as Babar, Rohit etc make fast bowlers look like kids bowling to them especially in ODIs. Batsmen must be getting better or bowlers cant be bothered bowling with as much effort Shoaib put in.

This is Pakistan tour of New Zealand 2001. 5 ODIs were played and Shoaib Akhtar was coming back after ban for chucking. In this series his action had changed in the delivery stride.
I watched this series very keenly and was actually disappointed as the speed guns never crossed 146 147kmph. The fastest ball was 151kmph in the whole series. Not only Akhtar but all bowlers even New Zealand bowlers were bowling 128, max 133. Waqar fastest was 138. Same with Wasim.
There was a strong belief that speed gun was showing 5 kph slower.
