A person on a previous Russian sub that got stuck on the Titanic momentarily, stated that the sub commander was in verbal contact with the surface. Yet this sub had to communicate via text messaging. That doesnt make sense?🤔 Was this company so ill-prepared?
There are videos of people on youtube who were inside the sub and in each one of them they lose communication for some time. Ideally when comm is lost the sub is supposed to be resurfaced but that didnt happen. One time even the ceo went on a solo trip and didnt have contact for over 10 hours but somehow connected finally and made it out
I hope I’m wrong but with every minute that goes by I’m convinced there is no hope. So many things can go wrong and I don’t know if it will turn out well.
I was about to get angry that they're calling a lost submarine "oceangate", as another example of the overuse of the -gate suffix. Then I realised it's the actual name of the company.
Think of how bleak the rescue mission is You need a big submarine with capacity to search the depth of the ocean The sub should have lighting and sonar capacity to detect the vessel Then after detecting the vessel the operation to lift it off the floor of the ocean is equally harculean Very unfortunate
The sub had like 6 different ways of emergency surface, precisely because if anything else went wrong at those depths, there is no point in rescue. Even with another sub standing by on the surface, it would only be useful for recovery. The deepest diving rescue subs max out at like 600m, this is almost 6 times that
@@johngrey9780 there was also a system that drops weights automatically after a set time, something like a pin that starts dissolving at a known rate once placed in water.
@@johngrey9780 Not sure, but I heard somewhere if tangled they can drop everything away leaving just the main capsule to get away. They lost contact just before reaching the wreck. News will milk this for as long as possible
I thought this submarine had ballasts that detach after a certain amount of time has gone by so it floats back up to the surface of the ocean? So that means something catastrophic event happened like the submarine suffered a severe crack and water leaked into the vessel....

The only thing not right, is your head. The sea bed is two miles down x360 sea-level pressure. What were you expecting, a guy with a snorkel going down and having a wee look-see?

The fact that a game controller (not even a Xbox or Sony controller) let’s your control everything, nah I’m good. Ima pass on it. Takes the phrase, “play dumb games, win dumb prizes” to another level.
Wha... are you dumb or stupid? Consumer grade controllers are used quite often in even military applications and training simulators because they simply work. You can't reinvent the wheel, what do you think the controller should be like? A stick with buttons? Maybe a cube? No, it is going to be just like a console controller because that is the most efficient and ergonomic design.
Last week a boat sank in the mediterranean sea, it is estimated that around 500 (five hundred) passengers drowned. They were refugees though, their boats sink all the time and people drown all the time, so this Billionaire going missing on an adventure is definitely worth more news coverage. And propably more ressources to look after them. (Yes, this post contains some irony.)
What bothers me is that the vessel obviously has never heard of Appollo 1. There was a fire in the cockpit and could not get the astronauts out in time. The vessel went down without a GPS, dye bag, emergency exit if the vessel surfaces, not even an apple airtag. Yet for $250,000 u too can visit a graveyard twice the depth of the grand canyon. Ps. No food allowed.
The Apollo 1 hatch could be opened from the inside but the fire caused a pressure situation, not allowing the hatch to open. Not at all the same thing as this submersible's failure mode, which most agree now was a hull failure. I don't know what could be applied from Apollo 1 here, maybe you could be specific. NASA did change the orientation of the hinges as a result. They also removed a bunch of flammable materials from the capsule.
@@majorrev8690 exactly they fixed the problem. It took the ground crew over 5 minutes to get access to the astronauts. I'm not saying they could have been saved but their mission has helped and new policies have been put in place for many other pressurized situations. My point is that 17 bolts on the outside limited oxygen with not even a valve to open, if it were to surface, was not there. NASA and Navy have been working on these things with many other companies for many decades. There is an indoor ocean with the navy most of these have been tested on. Not this one. Camperworld had more of their products in there than safety measures. Oceangate still took passengers down with no regard to safety. No expert had ever certified the vessel.
Them I wish the best, but ultimately they are there on their own accord. So, I pray for the people in Ukraine, for the gay to find love and acceptance.

One time even the ceo went on a solo trip and didnt have contact for over 10 hours but somehow connected finally and made it out
@@Callmeqaver Oceangate have admitted their only form of communication in their sub is by text messages to the mothership.

and the oceangate used this logitech controller which had backflashes in the past of the controller being bad..
I was about to get angry that they're calling a lost submarine "oceangate", as another example of the overuse of the -gate suffix.
Then I realised it's the actual name of the company.
is it possible to learn this power?
Watergate was taken already
Fitting, isnt it.
That sub has imploded hence no more contact with the surface, the most expensive coffin ever 🥺

well if not found at least you feel better putting out a prayer that doesn't really benefit anyone but you
they really got the titanic experience
Think of how bleak the rescue mission is
You need a big submarine with capacity to search the depth of the ocean
The sub should have lighting and sonar capacity to detect the vessel
Then after detecting the vessel the operation to lift it off the floor of the ocean is equally harculean
Very unfortunate
@@johngrey9780 Hence even more risky
But why not station rescue subs in the waters to avert the long wait?

They robbed any Titanic leftovers and disappeared
Never try to find the Heart of the Ocean (a necklace with a large diamond, which old Rose dropped in the end)!
Its really sad that these type of expeditions do not have any emergency protocol in place.
The name Ocean gate sounds like a conspiracy theory in itself. Also they named it Titan after Titanic and it suffers the same fate, coincidence?
I thought this submarine had ballasts that detach after a certain amount of time has gone by so it floats back up to the surface of the ocean? So that means something catastrophic event happened like the submarine suffered a severe crack and water leaked into the vessel....

So the submersible was doing an expedition where the titanic was yet the rescuers did not bother searching that area until now? Something dont seem right about this
> yet the rescuers did not bother searching that area until now
Chances are that the rescuers probably didn't have anything capable of reaching that depth.
The only thing not right, is your head. The sea bed is two miles down x360 sea-level pressure. What were you expecting, a guy with a snorkel going down and having a wee look-see?
There's something poetic about this entire thing.

Nice reporting from the BBC claiming that the sub is operated via a "game console".
While it's true that they're using a videogame controller to maneuver the vessel that wouldn't be the first time that a vehicle like this has been controlled that way.

Question: how many refugees does it take to bankrupt the UK? Answers on a postcard, please.
Wanna go 4,000 meters under the Atlantic ocean in a DIY home depot submersible with an xbox 360 for a coms unit? That will be $250,000.
Sony should make movie about it🔥
What bothers me is that the vessel obviously has never heard of Appollo 1.
