Murderbot is such a fun series! Glad you got to enjoy that even if it wasn't on your TBR. I love the Hercule Poirot BBC TV series, but I haven't really read any of the books. The Fortnight in September sounds really lovely!
I'm glad you liked The Fortnight in September, it's one that definitely tugged at my heartstrings. 😊 For Remember December I reread two books - Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, which I enjoyed and am really glad I reread because I had mis-remembered the ending, and A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas which was absolutely wonderful. In fact, I read the Dylan Thomas twice - once on the Friday before Christmas and again on Christmas day - and on Christmas eve I watched a TV version on UA-cam. So the readathon turned out to be such a joy.
It was such a peaceful book! Thank you so much for the recommendation! I read Miss Pettigrew quite some time ago and should probably reread it as some point. It didn't end up being a favorite but maybe it would resonate differently now. Not sure!
It was so creepy! I didn't believe a word the main character was saying through 99% of the book! Such a suspenseful read! Thank you for the recommendation.
I'm waiting for my daughter to hand off Iron Wing. Now I'm worried. Great mix of things in Dec Sandy and you are off to a bamging start for 2024. I'm subnitting two subscriber favorites for you right now. 1. Vaster Wilds - young woman escapes Jamestown and how she survives working to get to safety. 2..North Woods - about the people who establish and evolve a particular homestead starting in the Jamestown era also. I think you will like the stories and get into the nature parts especially. From North Wood, I will no longer think about bringing wood from home to burn at a campsite. I really get it now.
Lovely edition of Tarzan! I've had Red Riding on my TBR for a long time, but when I was about to start it last year, I realised it was book 1 of 6, so I put it back down 😂. I'll start the series when I've finished all the ones I'm already in the midst.
Completely agree on Red Rising. Super strong start, but then it got long and political for me. It is one of my brother's favorite series...so may try book two soon.
I’ve made a list of 24 books I’d like to get to in 2024. Most are books I didn’t get to in previous years. I’m also making an additional list of 12 nonfiction in a similar vein.
I really enjoyed Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. I am excited to see what is in store for Andarna, but I also share your disappointment at the ending. I will continue the series when the new book comes out in December :)
That sounds like a great finish of the 2023-reading year!
It really was a great finish!
🎉
I also love it when the murderer turns out to be none of the people I suspected in murder mysteries 😂
It is fun to see just how off I can be! 🤷♀️
We’ve talked about most of these, but Yay for Red Rising!!
Golden Son was our favorite of the 3.
I put golden son on hold at the library. Hoping it comes in soon so that I don’t forget red rising

It was such a great month! I am so happy I chose to read these books rather than my last 1001 book 😍
I liked The Girl on the Train! It was back when I first started reading thrillers.
It was wild!! I couldn’t figure out what direction it was going in!

I leaned into genre fiction hard during December and it was fabulous! Glad you did too!
December was great. I really need to plan for an easy December 😍

I have vaster wilds on my library hold list! Just waiting for it to come in. I got north woods for Xmas 🎉
@MsReadsAlot can't wait to discuss them with you.
A very good month. I’m totally nonplussed about ever picking up Fourth Wing.
I thought the first one was fun. I don’t read a ton of fantasy, so it was a bit outside my normal reads 😊

I just got book 2 from the library! I need to finished 2 other books though before I pick it up!

I have heard the books get better? I put the second book on the hold list at the library
Sounds like a fun month!

I recently realized that I have committed myself to 10 books per month with my projects 😳 not much room for other reads!
I did my re-read of The Mysterious Affair at Styles on audio and it was excellent!
Fantastic! I didn't try the audiobook for this one.

Putting the Murderbot series on my TBR, thanks for mentioning it
Andarna 😍 the dragons remain my favorite parts of the books!
