This channel will largely focus on books! However, I am an avid outdoor adventurer who loves cooking and movies, so there is every possibility that this type of content will also appear!
Wrapping up a bunch of books so I can finally put them away!
#readingwrapup
Hi Everyone!
I had a TON of books on my shelf waiting for a video! I decided to combine them all together and kind of do a multiple month wrap up.
There were a number of amazing books that I read at the end of the year.
I hope you enjoy the wrap up!

The 1001 Book Countdown is a passion project where I am reading all of the books in the 1001 Books you must read before you die list by Peter Boxall. I combined all editions of the list so there are actually 1315 books all total to read. I started my reading project on UA-cam in 2021 and have been documenting my way through the last 1001 books. I hope you enjoy watching me make my way through this MASSIVE project!

Goyhood by Reuven Fenton - A Single Book Review! WOO HOO!
I can’t believe we only have 2 expanse books left to go 😢 I love that youve read so many whole series! I need to get better at that 😂
Ooo ive got the seven husbands waiting on my shelves so interesting to hear what you thought.
Here's an emoji for you! ---> 🦭
Good on you following reading whims and being kind to yourself. I loved David in Somewhere Beyond the Sea! The Expanse books are so chonky! I have the first, I really need to get around to starting.
I just finished Beyond the Cerulean Sea. Love those characters. Just what I needed after reading Human Acts. I like that you read such a variety of fun books. I've just started listening to Middlemarch and am totally annoyed with Dorthea. Wondering if I can hang with it. Does she get better/more interesting/less stupid? Cover of Fable is beautiful.
It’s great to see you reading books just for fun. It’s great to have a balance between the challenging reads and the ones that are just for enjoyment or those that are a blend of both.
I agree that the Lonesome Dove series is okay but doesn't come close to being as amazing as Lonesome Dove. If I read any of those first I probably wouldn't have tackled LD since it is so long and they were only mediocre. I understand about reading brain candy rather than the more difficult literary books you are supposed to read. Sometimes those books are too much and brain candy is all I can handle.
I agree. ...Lonesome Dove and Streets of Laredo are the best of the 4.
I liked how you reflected on the previous year and decided to do what feels best to you 🤗🤗 You certainly should not feel anxious for achieving any goals really ❤️ I also focused on what worked best in the previous year for my new goals 😉
Lovely picks ❤
I read North and South a few months ago. At first I really didn't see what all the hype was about the book but as soon as I got to the second half I got very interested. I can't really remember how I reacted to the ending but reading North and South did compel me to get Wives and Daughters which I won't be getting to for a very long time.
Enjoyed that - thanks
That was so much fun to watch!!
Fun compilation!
Congratulation on all your reading! 🎉 It was fun to see what titles I recognized or that I hope to read at some point. Keep up the great work. I hope to see more reviews of your 1001 Books.
Incredible! Also, my favorite reason for a DNF is now yours that is needed more plot and less incest. No wonder you tossed it across the room!
So much fun you inspired me to track down a second hand copy of 1001 books. Now I’m so excited. ❤
That was fun! (Must have taken a lot of time to edit.)
I always enjoy your content, whatever and whenever that may be : ) Great job getting your unread books down! I may work on that this year! Thank you for posting 📚❤
Glad you’re getting back into the flow matey, a more chilled year is what I’m hoping for too 🤞🏻
I am so pleased we are reading Lirael - it’s been such a pleasant start to the year! Have always been intrigued by the 1001 Arabian Nights. Happy reading! ❄️
Keep it simple - perfect! I love that you are being kinder to yourself. Am thinking about my plans and they’re pretty much on the same page! ❤
Sounds like some great plans for 2025! It's good to cut back and make sure your goals fit your life. Your 1001 book project is a LOT all on its own! I hope to make more Shorts this year, too. Smart not to overload yourself. I made some changes in October last year - focusing less on my blogs and more on UA-cam, with plans to hopefully travel more in 2025. Hope you read some great books this year and find this slimmed-down approach helps you to enjoy more and stress less :)
I missed when you got the new job! Congrats! I missed you last year, and your goals seem really well thought out and less pressure is always the best!!
Yes to new goals for 2025- and yes to getting back into reading. I love the 1001 nights stories short idea. Could always start with just a few and see how it goes/ feels. Some of those stories aren't as good as others and some are way famous and may need a bit more than a short- would be interesting!
I do something that probably wouldn't work for you but I wanted to mention it. I have bought so many books since I started watching book tube videos. I think I probably have about 100 books altogether lined up to read. I have a big bookshelf with books I bought a long time ago. Since I started buying more books, I've been putting them in pretty boxes I get from Michael's. I'm basically trying to read things in the order I got them. I normally have a literature/fiction book and a non-fiction/educational book I'm reading at the same time. What I do though is to go back and forth between books on my shelf and books in my boxes. It's kind of fun and a bit of a surprise when I get a book from the boxes. I should be through the books on my shelf by the end of the year. I've gradually increased my goal for the year on Goodreads. This year I've set a goal of reading 50 books. I have the boxes in my closets.
Yes few rules. I'm trying to not have more rules in my life this year. My hopes for directing my reading are to read for the BT prize again--I've gotten so much out of that in the past though I never read for all the quarters. I am looking at more translated fiction, increased non-fiction including memoirs and reading more of what I have on my shelves. Fun stuff. Have a great 2025 ahead and hope to see your channel and those 1001 books.
What wonderful plans! Giving yourself space to pick up what you want to read. ❤ love that.
Hope 2025 is everything you want it to be . I am hoping to have an easy mood reading year.
I would be interested in the 1001 Arabian Nights shorts.
2024 was a year of giving myself grace as well. Here’s to more reading for both of us.
Keeping it simple is a great plan. 🙌
Hooray for simple - and keeping it fun. The shorts and your other ideas sound great.
Good luck in 2025! Nice goals.
Hi Sandy, I like your idea of doing things a bit more spontaneously or randomly, putting less pressure on yourself. I really enjoy hearing your reviews of the 1001 Books project since I’m working on that as well. Hopefully things will be quieter for you this year so that you can find more energy for your reading.
Yes to taking it easy! I’m scaling down on things that make me feel pressured in any way too, and focusing on what seems fun to me. I still like a challenge and some structure, so I’m doing some prompt lists and my own Diversity challenge, but everything is yearlong and no pressure, and only for me, no obligations to anyone else. Take care of you and have fun with it 😊
So glad you are being kind to yourself in 2025! I think sticking to your main goal is a great idea. 💛
My plans for 2025? I seem to recall making plans... Seems so long ago now... :) I'm supposedly reading through Proust and Dante this year. Then there is Historathon2025 and a similar philosophy-thon. But then I lost a jar of peanut butter on NYE and everything seemed to go off the rails. :) Oh. I'm also hoping to read a couple of your 1001 picks; same with BenReadsGood, though I'm still working on the books for last year's prompts. As for videos from you...maybe some CCTV footage of you relaxing. :)
Getting a new job can wreak havoc on one’s life for at least the first six months. Once you’re in the groove it gets better.
Please, let me know what you think about Martín Fierro. I am from Argentina!
I think it's good to keep things simple. I never set any specific goals each year. I just have a few things I like to focus on. This year it will be reading more 1001 books, reading more of my owned books (congrats on getting yours down to under 100, I'm not even close to that yet) & reading more of my ongoing series books. I've just finished Reasons to Live and really enjoyed it. I'm glad you picked it for the book club because I probably would not have gotten to this any time soon!
Wishing you the best of luck with 2025!
It’s so hard to read when your mental load is full. I’ve found that I’ve had to cut back on creating yearly goal reading lists, because I have been failing them every year. Hoping you feel freedom in your reading this year!
🎉🎉
This list sounds great for you! Good luck getting back into the groove of things!!
❄️❄️💜
I hope you continue to feel that reading mojo throughout 2025!
Love more connected short stories. I was never a fan of short stories till I joined a short Story group at my local library. What a treat it has been. I've been able to see connections in music, songs and stories in odd, obvious and quirky ways. It is so much fun and brain expanding to see how different authors approach this. The Amy Hempel book is one I'm putting on my list. I recently finished two Monica Wood books--one a collected short story book, Ernie's Ark which was excellent. Great reading plans for you and was pleased to see you getting excited about books again. Happy New Year.
Hahaha, I vote "no" on Misery May! 😅 I read a Sophie Kinsella novel on a whim 2 winters ago, I completely forget which one. But, I loved it! Looking forward to hearing what you think of this one.
Congratulations on 200 books! Woohoo! 🎉🎉
