- I've FINALLY found a photo and tech backpack that I can carry around a city all day WITHOUT causing shoulder and neck pain, the Nomatic x Peter McKinnon Camera Backpack (25L).

What's your go to backpack?
Honestly I have been slumming an private label Amazon Prime special. It is awful. I am waiting for the Linus Tech Tips backpack. It is apparently a very tech oriented EDC with high durability. If it sucks I may have to give Pete my money.
@@agenericaccount3935 Let me know what you think of the LTT bag, while it wouldn't work for all my situations it looks like a pretty sweet bag and I love the inner orange.
@@KeliFancher I actually chose not to support the project in the end. On reveal it was a little broad and a too ‘travelly’. The line between every day carry and every out of town trip carry is a firm one. This crosses it. If they bring a v2 to the market with the same build quality but more modest proportions I will be all over it.
@@agenericaccount3935 gotcha, yeah there’s kind of where I fell as well.
Appreciate the gentle nature of this video. Was very relaxing to watch, can't wait to get this bag in the mail :)
Thanks for the watch and the compliment! I hope you enjoy it!
Man, I love the vibe of your review, the bg song, the way you explain and everything else, I'm about to buy that bag, I'm only afraid because of the price tag, but now seeing all those reviews I'm begging to think it's worth it, but it will be a lifetime backpack lol.
:-) Thanks Luca!"
I love the bag, but bags are a very personal purchase - if you do go forward with it I hope it works out for you.
Nice review! I have a single bag I bought when Evernote actually sold merchandise. I’ve traveled with it around the world and have found it pain free. Unfortunately they don’t sell that model anymore. I’m glad you found a bag that works for you.
I know that pain, years ago I had a lovely bag (orange of course) that I loved. I have no clue what the make or model was, wish I did as I'd love another one.
Very nice review!
Great Vid, THANKS!
No, thank you for the watch and comment. I really appreciate it!
Beard and hat combo on point! This bag is my favorite. I had the peak design v1 and didn’t like the ladder divider design.
Thanks for the compliment! Glad it's not just me that didn't like the Peak Design layout.
Great review. Now I'm gearing toward this one.
Anyway, I saw in many reviews, some complain about the zippers. Are there any problems like that with this bag?
I haven't had any troubles with the zippers. My one complaint in that regards is that the bag fabric is thick and sometimes the zipper pulls are hard to quickly grab if they're positioned at the very top. But I just keep them on the side 🤷♂️
Nice review Keli. I use the PD 30L and don’t like it much. For hiking I use the Fjord NYA-EVO 60L. It’s excellent. Curious to hear what your adventure pack is!
Well, what do you know 😅. I have the Fjord 60L and 26L depending on if it’s a day hike or longer carry. The 26L is new as it’s on sale, the 36L is probably a better size for that purpose.
I love their cubes, nice and deep - perfect for a camera with a vertical grip.
@@KeliFancher Well, fancy that! If I was flush I'd certainly be looking at a smaller Fjord to replace the Peak Design. I have the small and large cubes, depending on if I'm hiking or going on a video project.
Hello, will the Z9 fit if you don't put the two boxes?
The problem with the fit is the height of the camera. With the integrated vertical grip it makes it too tall to fit in the bag nicely, I can make it work but it bulges into the back panel a bit.
@@KeliFancher Thank you very much for your answer. Too bad I will look for another bag.
So you don’t think a 5D MIV with a grip or a 1D X will fit if it’s on its side? The dimensions say the depth is a little over 7”; granted, I didn’t see internal dimensions so not sure. Great video and appreciate your feedback.
Mine did not come with the straps. Is that normal?
Which straps? The sternum straps? I don’t know, I got it as part of the Kickstarter with some other bags so it may have been an extra perk. I’d reach out to Nomatic just in cSe
Just in case
It’s a great bag, but the use of plastic buckles, weak magnets, and no exterior quick access pockets killed it for me. Also, the side pockets are big/loose, so unless you have a large water bottle, it’s not going to stay in there.
I understand the appeal of metal buckles, but I've put this bag through it's paces and they've held up. I disagree with the side pockets being too big though, I use smart water bottles while traveling and they're about as narrow as it gets and I've had no trouble.
The magnets though... SO WEAK. The side pockets flop around like crazy and never stay latched when empty.
I still dislike that there is no easy access pocket... :( But still...
I hear ya, not a huge deal for my use case though. Those few frequent access items are in my pockets
