278 subscribers? Seriously? These are some of the best shot and edited reviews I've seen on UA-cam. Extremely professional and super informative.
No idea why you don't have awful lot more subs

Appreciate the comment but I'm genuinely not sure if you're serious 😅 I haven't really focused much on this channel (I have another one about my life in Thailand - youtube.com/@theendlessvoyage

I was absolutely serious. Good content - very underappreciated.
But then that being said, there is a 10 second short on UA-cam which is just a grainy shot of a sea lion that appears to let out a large fart.
Imaginatively Titled, 'sea lion farting' it has amassed some 34m views so far so perhaps subscriber/ view count doesn't necessarily reflect quality 🙄

I was pushing for the Nomatic bag but just stumbled onto the Wandrd bag. I’m definitely stuck between the two!

I finally settled on the Nomatic bag because it just holds MORE things MORE easily.

So I've been using the PRVKE that I just got really recently, 31L, and it's both deceptively big and small. I can pack out the camera cube without much issue at all but the roll top feels like an endless void. The bag is pretty heavy even empty so packed out it's pretty intense. I do like how it cinches down a lot to be a good EDC bag with the cube coming out of the bag easily and. I wish it was easier to access things when the bag is held open but it is nice overall. I do need to keep a flashlight offhand though to see inside the bag when backstage since it isn't a high vis interior

Thank you for this excellent comparison! I have the Nomatic McKinnon 25L Camera Pack with Divider Kit, for use with a Nikon Z system. I pretty much concur with most of your points about the McKinnon bag, especially the lack of small external storage pockets, and the functional color choice of the interior for locating one's gear in darker environments. One I might also mention the lack of load lifter straps on the shoulder straps. I think that these would greatly aid in the comfort of the McKinnon, especially when loaded with heavy gear. Does the WANDRD have load lifter straps? Also, no pockets on the shoulder straps, like some other bags have. Thanks again for the awesome comparsion!

Thanks for watching. The Prvke does not have load lifter straps, however, the straps are a bit more robust and comfortable to begin with.

Update: I did get the PRVKE 21L Camera Backpack, and totally agree with you that the straps are supremely comfortable when the bag is filled with gear! The overall construction is top-notch, and I like the external pockets for small items, something that the McKinnon unfortunately lacks. The only thing about the PRVKE side access flap is that it's just a bit too narrow to accommodate the height of a Nikon Z8, though a smaller body would certainly fit it. That said, both these bags are excellent. Thanks again for your superb video!

Really great video! I thinking of selling my PM Everyday 25L bag and switching to wandrd prvke 31 for an "everyday" bag. Already got PM Travel bag is I need alot of gear.

@@AlchemyVisualyoutubeDid just placed an order for the PRVKE 31L with the "small" cube. Might add the pro cube later and see if u can also replace my Peter Mckinnon 35L travelbag that I use when I need alot of gear and 150-600 mounted on the camera.

I had the "original" version of Prvke 21L. And switched to PM x Nomatic everyday bag.
To me personally, PM backpack is a clear winner.
The biggest issue I had with Prvke was the "secret pocekt(Passport pocket) on the back panel.
It looks like they changed the back panel design. But, the original version had upside down "U" shaped passport pocket, and the zipper slider iwas located in the worst position.
Like, 90% of the time when I put the backpack on, the zipper slider hit the nerve spot on small of the back and it's REALLY painful, so painful you'd stop breathing for a few seconds.
THAT alone is enough (for me, personally) to stop using it.
Another thing is the bag doesn't stand up straight on its own.
If it were designed like Peak Design everyday backpack or LowePro ProTactic (that are NEVER going to stand up), it's actually better.
Because it (Prvke) sometimes stands up, you put the bag down on the ground, thinking it will be standing there. You take your eyes off, then, moments later, it's laying down on the ground.
The loops on the shoulder straps are useless.
So are the side pocket. (Better get sling bag if you need that kinda function).
It was definitely (way more) uncomfortable than PM backpack when it's loaded.

Great review, as I was debating on which backpack would fit my unique needs. I'm able to make a more informed decision based on this review. Quick question on all day comfort for the PRVKE 31L. Some reviewers have mentioned that back padding on the V2 design still does not allow enough airflow, which causes their backs to be more sweat-prone. Have you found that to be an issue?

    • @AlchemyVisualyoutube
      @AlchemyVisualyoutube  Рік тому +1

Thanks for watching. In my opinion, the Prvke v2 has the best airflow of any camera bag I’ve ever owned so I’m not sure why others would say that 🤷‍♂️

Question: you say both backpacks are water resistant but the BOTTOM of the Wandrd is NOT. I've read reviews on their page with pictures showing the contents being damaged because the bag was set down on wet ground and it soaked all the way through the internal padding. So have they changed that?

They only sell Wandrd products in ONE shop about 45 minutes outside of Bangkok (and they are quite expensive 😅).
That being said, if you are considering buying the PRVKE 31L, you can stop by my place in Ekkamai and try it. I’m considering selling it (because I have too many bags).

Have you had any issues with the Prvke 31L for traveling as a personal item or for fitting it under the seat? Thank you!

I've traveled many times with it and haven't had a problem. It is a bit large, but it does fit under the seat and the flight attendants have never asked me to move it.
