I can't seem to get enough of your video's! I find it hard to believe that Korean people are this authentic & kind to you! I have gained a whole new respect for Koreans!
The bloke you were chatting with on the sofa reminds me of the very first time i was in KR, i was sat outside a CU near my airbnb at maybe 11am. Ended up meeting an ahjussi who bought us some beers and soju, spent the morning getting pissed with him (despite a clear lack of language skills on both sides haha)... Will never forget that morning, great memory.
Dude….. great fun……. I’m chillin here on a lazy cloudy Sunday enjoying your adventure…… Thank you Dan….. This video has been the best entertainment all day……. Can’t wait to see your special on BBC………. You’ve got real potential…….
I really enjoy your videos, they're so raw! I've lived in Korea for 7 years and I always see the country from a different lens through your videos. I also enjoy your natural interactions with locals.
Just finished watching the video Dan a great video i haven't been watching as much been kind of busy but will be watching the video's i missed, but your still my favorite to watch Dan keep making more awesome videos take care till then. From:Alex of Canada.🇨🇦
I can't stop looking at your vlogs they're so fun i watch 2 videos every day Now, i really hope you reach 1 million soon. You really deserve more subscribers
29:37 these wider static shots look really good! cutting to them gave the video some space and context, as well as helped to tie off the alleyway scene. nice touch! Seems like you stumbled into an area with more Joseon-jok (chinese ethnic-koreans), provided a new perspective which was cool - that lad was chill!
Really enjoying the authenticity ahead of my 4 week trip next spring. I Hope to make an original and personal account of what I get up to and, I'm sure you've been asked many times, what camera do you mostly use for your shoots?
Export Tsingtao is not bad, but the domestic stuff is kind of yucky. Cheers. I've really been enjoying your videos. I think you'd have a lot of fun if you ever visit Taiwan!
Some context: 15:11 He seemed to understand your question, then starts to reply 'kuai' for 快手 which is a Chinese tik-tok-like live streaming app 16:05 He says you are handsome shuai(帅),No idea why he slapped your ass though 🤣 22:03 Seems to ask if you are filming on DouYin (抖音) the China version of TikTok 25:45 He was trying to explain to you that Tsingtao beer was actually founded in 1903 by German settlers in Tsingtao (Qingdao), China 27:50 That would be 조선족 ( 朝 鮮 族 ) 31:05 This was low-key very funny, they can both speak Chinese but even after the live streamer guy says "I can't speak Korean" in Chinese the other guy keeps speaking in Korean because I guess he didn't want to get into a conversation with the guy 🤣
The reason i say it like that is ... when i first came to korea i met a man from new zealand and he spoke fluent korean and when we said thanks he said it with an accent. and it stuck with me :)
I think they adapted and implemented the already available technology optimally and really quickly . What do you mean by technologically advanced while there KTX high speed trains are a complete adaptation of the French TGV, they use internet like any other countries out there unlike china or russia. They are heavily supported by the USA as the north korea is soviet. I'd say they experienced this rapid growth only because of very good and open business policies and foreign policies that gave them the perfect environment to grow as fast as possible. The only country that truly fascinates me is China. They are one of the most technologically advanced countries and most of the tech that they use are indigenous. From their Bullet trains to internet search engines to online payment systems. They have got it all covered. I think south korea is just an outpost of the USA deep inside east asia. Which is very good for them. Why dont you vist china? will be fun to watch.
Mackeoli on the left. Lol. You may play screen golf with me and the loser would pay for the game and the winner will buy some beer at a pub or fried chicken 가게. I know many good places to play in Seoul like Gongdeok or Youndeungpo or Magok or Seongbuk gu
really good to hear a bit of historical background and context with each one of these -gu videos. helps to understand why each area has the character it does. would be good to explore why there's a big chinese migrant/worker community in the southern -gus of seoul, etc. like the chinese food street, gotta be there because a big group migrated historically, or are there now for a specific type of work, etc. all adds up to the whole picture and character of seoul!
@@whereisdan when i first moved to seoul there were quite a lot of news articles about chinese-koreans or immigrant workers in gwanak-gu ... gangs and violent crime etc. bit of a tabloid news thing about those areas being hotbeds of criminality. not sure how much is truth and how much is classic xenophobia like you find in any news reporting of similar issues in any country.
If I recall rightly, Tsingtao was originally a german brewery when Shanghai had a german quarter. Two other ways to learn a foreign language: 1) Learn the swear words. Proceed to getting into trouble and go to jail. By the time you’re released you’ve succeeded. 2) Sleep with it. 😮😅
@@whereisdan Well I was mostly right. Tsingtao was a German Brewing Company - However what I had always assumed as the German colony being in Shanghai, it was actually in Qingdao (then during the Japanese Occupation briefly in Nanjing) after which was split off to form Asahi and Sapporo.
