It is an intriguing book. It reminded me of last year's nonfiction Booktube prize winner, An Immense World by Ed Yong. It presents science in an engaging way. If you like science books, it is great.
It's oddly pleasant to watch a video from someone who has also had an unusually high number of set aside books. In the past I've rarely DNF'd books. This year they're dropping like flies. I'm hoping my scatteredness passes with the cool weather (and that you get some more time to yourself once your parents are settled in their new space.)
I have been scattered this year. I start many books before settling into one.
I am suffering from the same virus. 😂
I love your description of not finishing in favor of the attraction of a "shiny new book"
Even old dusty battered books can be shiny new books. 😁
I came to this video after watching Britta Bohler's Birthday Book Haul! where she also recommends 'Eve' now I'm really intrigued by the book.

@@bouquinsbooks I enjoyed "Sapiens" by Yuval Noah Harari, more history and philosophy than hard science.
@@jimsbooksreadingandstuff I haven't read it yet. Eve is science, not a lot of philosophy.
Language City sounds so interesting!! In a different topic, I want a T-shirt with 'she does the best that she can, it just happens not to be much' 😝🤣
That would be a wonderful t-shirt! 🤣🤣

I am glad I am not the only one whose attention is going in all directions at the same time! 😁
Yes to Les Miserables and Jean Valjean! Language City sounds very interesting.
I loved every scene where Jean Valjean appeared. It is a great book!
I have ordered Pico Iyer really intrigues me. Thanks very much !
I thought it was lovely. A little hidden gem.
Eve sounds fascinating. And, whew, I don’t want details about the bathroom. Yikes.
I am not a fan of bathroom scenes... 🙄
Totally worth it if you like stupidity 😂
Stupidity sometimes makes great books! 😂
