I wish I had known earlier that you do not need to sleep for tahajud. I grew up hearing from elders that “tahajud is not possible without sleeping prior to praying it”. I wish I knew, as I often sleep late because of studies or other work and I used to wish I could pray tahajud, but because of the misconception I never did. Now I feel like I’ve lost years worth of ibadah. May Allah Almighty protect us, grant us forgiveness and ease. Ameen. ❤️

My sister, though you may have lost the blessings and opportunity to pray Tahajud in the past. You may get the opportunity to get your prayer accepted in a Laylatul Qadr night which will account more then 80 years

Ohhhh, i also deal with insomnia but lately it has been a lot better.... Mainly bc i'm getting back on the track, i mean i've faced several depression episodes and i havd anxiety disorder so insomnia was an obvious side effect.... But as i look back my iman was rly very weak.... Alhamdulillah by Allah swt's mercy i'm working on my iman... And brother/sister i also experienced a few things that when i leave things on Allah swt like "Tawakkaltu Alallah" complete trust! I don't deal with depression or insomnia tho my anxiety gets worse in public but i'm working on that too....Mental health issues are mainly from shaytan so we'd have to do some adhkar that were recommended by Prophet salatu wassalam...
Ik how it feels to not to be able to sleep, to toss and turn on the bed the whole night with constant annoying and depressing thoughts which don't seem to disappear no matter how hard u try to shut them up....and then the next day u're not able to function well with ur tired body..... I get it.... Recite surah AN-NAAS and AL-FALAQ along with Ayatul kursi and du'a before sleep, do zikr (tasbih).... I heard from ppl counting sheeps helped them but sheeps aren't going to help u instead "subhan allahi wabi hamdihi" and whatever tasbih u know will help u a lot..... Remember to lay on right side with ur right palm under ur face ( sunnah)
Tho i think u know this already i just wanted to be a helping hand for my brother/sister whom i can relate with...... I hope u get better in-sha-allah may mercy and peace of Allah swt be upon u and remember me in ur tahajjud :)
Someone plz tell me how to pray tahajjud like what niyat one has to say and niyat of how many rakats nafil one has to make.

I am going to stay awake at night for the preparation of my exams and now it's ramdan i was still in the misconception that i won't be able to pray Tahajud if i won't take a nap so glad that i did my research and now i can pray Tahajud without any doubt JazaKallah ❤️✨

Glad this is cleared , on my way to offer tahajjud, I literally can't sleep at night, lockdown has destroyed my sleeping schedule.

My family also told me that you can't pray tahajud without nap , but still i kept praying nawafill at mid night i thought no need to worry if it is not counted as tahajud, but that is source of relief for me , I cant sleep so it gaves me happiness and it feels like im sharing each and every detail with Allah Almighty , because ALLAH is merciful,❤
I feel so regret, because I've don't many wrong and mistakes in my prayer but Mash'allah learning new things every day but it's already late into this Ramadan, Hope next year we can perform our Ibadah more precisely!!

Thank you, Dr Zakir, for a nocturnal person, I've been looking for answers to this particular question. Just like you said, there are two answers to it, which leads to uncertainty. But I didn't know that most scholars say it's possible for tahajjud without sleep. Inn Sha Allah, all our brothers and sisters tahajjud prayers will be accepted be it with or without sleep. Amin.

Thanks a million times for this clarification. I have always had a doubt about it, like can’t I pray tahajjud without sleeping. Cause you I can’t sleep at night. You can say INSOMIA. And but when I sleep I don’t wake up early. And there I miss tahajjud. Just like today I missed:) and that’s y I run to UA-cam and searched this and I found. @@marianaz5402 the other scholar said you should sleep before doing tahajjud but the mandatory of the scholars said 'sleepig' is not a requirement to pray tahajjud. It means you can still pray tahajjud even if you haven't slept.

Assalamwalaikum Sir, just curious to know the science behind this. The time keeps changing in every part of the world and Tahajjud prayers are prayed almost at every moment. How can this be possible, as it is said Allah is at last heaven during Tahajjud.
There are many things beyond our understanding no matter how much we try. But, to answer your question from what little I do know, Allah, swt, is not restricted to the conditions of space and time. Even from a scientific view, space and time can be changed to a certain degree where it goes beyond our conventional understanding of it. Even that scientific research is mind blowing. Look into it.

So According to a video by Mufti Menk Tahajjud requires you to pray in the last third of the night. Which is 1:45 am to 4:25 am. Is this the only time that Tahajjud can be prayed? I understand from Dr. Zakir that sleep is not a requirement. But Isha prayer can be prayed around 8 pm at night. Can i pray Tahajjud immediately after that? Or does it has to be the very last part of the night?
I think after isha, any time you can pray tahajjud
@@foodandfashion9309 do the math. Count no of hours after sunset and before fajr . Divide it by 3 . Now subtract it from fajr.

Tahajjud of Prophet (PBUH) is not the same as other so-called Tahajjud. All prayers by others are called Tahajjud, It men's late-night prayer, and other ibadat. But Tahajjud Is something else.

I know people will not reply but can someone with correct knowledge please tell me if 2 am can be a time for tahajjud... I don't wake up too late cause it is very very bad for brain and i also have to study for my upcoming exam..
