Have you figured out yet the contact ring can't really be flipped? Only one side has the bumpy copper contact.

They sell rebuild kits for those. They cost what a new one cost. So its better just to buy a new one. If this works I am gonna do same shit on my 78. I think my relay went out yesterday!

True, but the satisfaction of using OEM and saving $50. More beer money.
Not great reports on the new ones. Chinese crap. I'm rebuilding my original one as well.
