  • Wave Motion | Waves | Physics | FuseSchool
    All waves can transfer energy from one place to another without transferring any matter. This is done by a series of disturbances or vibrations that carry the energy. Just like the people in their seats, only moving up and down when it’s their turn.
    Waves can transfer energy through solids, liquids, gases and empty spaces - otherwise known as vacuums. There are two types of waves - which we will look at in more detail in another video, but the basic features are the same.

    I would just like to say that this channel made me pass physics for CSEC when I literally had NO HOPE. Whoever runs this channel i hope both sides of your pillow cold tonight and you live long healthy life. I hope you randomly get money in your back account. I hope your sleep schedule is immaculate and that you are rich in aspects. Thank you for helping is broke teenage children trying to learn sciences. Doing god’s work.

    Disturbance is the cause of such natural phenomena, but not the explicit description about how particles' motions create the concept of a wave and why wave is not forned by any actual displacement of any physical element of a wave-conducting substance
    When oscillation and vibration are used to describe such natural phenomena , it will automatically relate readers to the density of substances which decide whether a substance allows any wave to take place in their molocular structures. Whenever any form of matter or existence oscillates or vibrates , there obviously has to be some space around them, and space around particles of a substance always has to do with the density of atoms in the molecular structure
    I have read so many definitions of wave by so many people with phd degrees in physics , but none has been able to give any unambiguous description of tge natural phenomena as waves
    Such definitions are not merely vague , but also shallow

      Remember at 0:54 we said that frequency was the number of complete waves passing a fixed point, in a given amount of time. So if you look at the second graph at 3:16, you can see that in time given there are two complete waves, and one half, so 2.5.

    Period is how long a complete cycle finished, so in the example 5 hertz, 0.20 is not a period or nah? Since I was wondering it was only pertaining to one wave.

    • @fuseschool
      @fuseschool  3 роки тому

      0.2s in the example at 1:30 is a period for only one complete wave. Remember, how in our example 1s was a given amount of time, and we had to figure out the frequency, which was 5. Now, if you wanted to know the time period for just one complete wave, you would divide 1s by 5, and get 0.2s
