Works on MAC to. In my case the savegame was just in the game gone, but in the Application Support it was there. I created a "savegame2" folder and made a copy like in the tutorial.

I am using a Steam Deck (Linux SteamOS) and I can confirm that this method works!! the savefile location is buried really deep inside but you can find it and do the exact same process here and it works, you really saved my FS22 savefile, I wish I would have known about this sooner as this was the second time, I lost a savefile to something like this. Glad I know how to fix it now.

Whew, you saved me! I had a hard freeze yesterday where I had to Alt+F4 out, and today the saved game was gone. I know it was a mod because I'm mostly just playing with mods right now while all my fields are weeds lol. Fortunately, I use the autosave mod and save my game every 5 min. I had to go back three saved game files before it would show up again.

Yea i had a huge property that i was in the process of clearing out trees to build my house I also had a huge workshop at the back of the property and then i restarted my pc and i lost it i followed this tutorial and it worked thank you so much

For anyone wondering: My savegame 3 dissapeared but there still was a ''savegame 3'' folder, when that happens just do the same as shown in this video and when you paste the backup files into the savegame folder it will ask you to replace already existing folders, just replace them and you should be fine
Legend. Works for MacBook too. I hope I don’t have to did this process every time now (I am running mods) but at least it’s better than losing everything.

Nope! No undo or going back! Unless you restore a save game.
