I've thought of undersizing tires but this gear ratio will be perfect once I'm IS38 should put me around 400whp 400wheel torque vs me being around 330-340whp 400wheel torque now. so another 50-60whp will make this car insane. Really good for stock turbo. This with a BOSS 600 kit would be insane. I think they use a GT3071? If I'm not mistaken. I'm trying to get an IS38 for my 1.8TSI MK7.
Wade Richmire the boss 600 Kit is a GTX3071R. Big turbo would make a lot of power. But not necessarily needed for a daily driven street car. I think I’ll either be going straight IS38 or a hybrid option of the IS38
MK7 GTI RACING that would sound about right for an IS38. I actually had a question, I'm not sure if you know much about the gen 3 1.8's but I'm soon going to be pulling the trigger on either an IS20 or IS38. If I'm going to swap the turbo I don't want to get an IS20 and then kick myself in the ass later regretting not getting the IS38. I'm just wondering in your opinion if an IS38 will have slow spooling problems being on a smaller 1.8 compared to the 2.0 or if it should be fine? As well as the 5 speed holding up to 350whp or so. Clutch won't be a problem since clutchmasters stage 4 will be put in it. Appreciate it.
I wouldn't go is38 cause our engines valvetrains are very different. you would have pretty slow spool. either way id get a GTI if you plan on doing anything. just cause the platform is much better.

Is38 will have you climbing up your speed better top end. Good race. I have a GIAC stage 2 tune Mk7 with tbe. What state are you in?

That's awesome. should be good for another 50whp or so. Top end should pull much better and hold boost better towards redline.
Wade Richmire I’m thinking of doing 30-32psi peak holding 25-28psi to redline. Which is about 4-5psi more then I hold right now
