    Great video Tom. Thanks for bringing us along. I’m trying to get into turkey hunting myself and was able to learn some things from yourself and the guys you interviewed. Much appreciated. God bless

      Thank you. I wanted to add a bit of personality this video by interviewing some of the exhibitors.

    Another great video, Tom. I especially enjoyed the interviews. All of the participants were amiable representatives of their respective products. Eddie Salter is really living proof that turkey hunting is a healthy activity, he has weathered the years very well, love his natural voice calling. I’m starting to see some positive activity up here in Virginia. Come on turkey season, my favorite time of the year to be in the woods. The many examples of new life and rebirth, are a clear demonstration of God’s plan for the continuation of so many forms of life.

    Always wanted to make it to convention but joined NWTF back in 80s . Looked like a lot of fun. I used nickel plated shot for turkeys a long time then tried copper then went to Winchester Longbeard. That small round call should be good . Homely Hen Game Calls makes a scratch box like that I have called turkeys with and small enough to fit in shirt pocket. Great video. Thanks

      Time has a way of slipping by. I still remember when I first decided to hunt the wild turkey. A decision that changed my life forever, but also gave me some great memories.

    I also have a box of Remington hevi shot 12 gauge 3 1/2” #4. If I remember right they were about 25 dollars for 10 shells 25 years ago. You’re absolutely right they were a game changer 45 to 50 yards with no problem.

      Wow! I guess if you see one, you pretty much have seen them all in a way. I do enjoy seeing new innovations, and what folks come up with from time to time.

    They sure want their coin for TSS.
    $76.99 for a package of 5 -12ga on the Remington website. $15 every time it goes boom.

    • @CumberlandOutdoorsman
      @CumberlandOutdoorsman  8 місяців тому

      That's true, but I just found some of the same loads at Midway for $68.00 per pack, which is about the same as other TSS ammo by Apex, Hevi-Shot, and others. TSS loads are premium shells at premium prices no matter the manufacturer.

      @@CumberlandOutdoorsman The cost of patterning a shotgun after a chosen tungsten load is wild. Paying $15 for a turkey in your local woods is fine, but goodness.

    Biggest problem with calling turkeys is all the so called want to be Turkey hunters calling the goblets before season . All they are doing is conditioning the Tom that the hen is not there. Foolish hunters.

    • @CumberlandOutdoorsman
      @CumberlandOutdoorsman  7 місяців тому +1

      I have been saying that for years, and I still believe it. Public hunting areas are a prime example of this because they ride around on the backroads, stop and get out to start calling, unknowingly ruining the turkey hunting in the area.

      @@CumberlandOutdoorsman very glad you agree.By the way I started hunting turkeys in 1970 when there were not any. If you found one ( not by calling )you told no one and made sure nobody followed you around, There was only 3 calls back then too #1 wing bone call you made, # 2 Lynch cedar box call and #3 mouth call a peace of tobacco tin cut in a oval inserted with a piece of prophylactic membrane folded in half punch attached with a pointed nail and formed to fit your upper mouth roof and learned to use. I still have an engraved Lynch cedar box call I earned. We did not have all the gadgets and equipment and still harvested turkeys.👍✌🏻🇺🇸🙏🏽
