    Literally people get so butt hurt over the political stuff that they refuse to accept the man is old and hasn't been in football shape for a half a decade. Like no team in existence would prefer that over a 20 year old with potential

    • @xguudaxcoax4560
      @xguudaxcoax4560 2 роки тому +3

      Exactly my point. I agree. People are butt hurt politically on both sides which is irritating and just barking narratives. I latch more onto your point (which is mine also) of being unbiased and I would say he has been out for too long to be effective or as effective as I would want. People don’t realize that a political view is truly not their view but how they’ve been told to feel.

    • @tonefaulcon9729
      @tonefaulcon9729 2 роки тому +1

      Im not butt hurt. Im telling you that your analysis of this is wrong. Clearly there is at least ONE team in existence that thinks you are incorrect, The Raiders. The Raiders are pushing into title contention. In the event that Carr goes down, they don't need a 20 year old with potential "to groom," they still need to win NOW. What they need is someone that can take the reigns and potentially keep them in title contention IF Carr goes down. Who's the better option in that scenario? A 20 year old with ZERO experience? A journeyman bum that won't win you crap? A guy who went to two NFC championships and a Super Bowl, but he needs to work himself back into game day shape. If I'm paying the same for all of them, Kap is clearly the better choice. His age may not even be a major thing; his FOOTBALL years are -6 now; that means he has a shot of returning to Pro form without the wear and tear of the game on him. Beauty of it is, if Kap can't make the cut the inexperienced 20 y/o and the journey man bum will still be sitting on waivers. If it works out it's a win/win for the Raiders and Kap, and if it doesn't work the Raiders can move on with minimal impact to the salary cap or team.

    I like how everyone talks about him being 1-10 in 2016 and completely ignoring the team he was on sucked. What offensive weapons did he have? Oh right...none. The skill-position starters were - Carlos Hyde, Torrey Smith, Quinton Patton, Vance McDonald, and Jeremy Kerley...not exactly a playoff-caliber team. Hyde was best known from his Ohio State days and Smith had only 3 good years in Baltimore (before SF) and got a SB ring and then backed into another with Philly in 2017. Spent a year in Carolina and retired with two rings and only one he really contributed to. Claiming that Kaep got benched for Blaine Gabbert is ridiculous. The 49ers were in disarray and throwing crap at the wall to see what was going to stick to salvage anything. Oh and his coach....LMAO!!!!! CHIP KELLY. No QB would survive that situation. Kaepernick's numbers were very similar to Mike Vick's up until that point in his career. Yet everyone wants to act like Kaepernick was never good and only carried out a publicity stunt. He went to the SB. He beat Green Bay in Green Bay in January. Let me know when Ryan Fitzpatrick's of the world or the other QB's that ALWAYS find work do any of that.

      Its your right not to agree with him or his position; He made it clear several times that it was not his intention to disrespect the flag but to bring awareness to police violence against blacks. I have been victimized by police before and even after serving my country...and yes I was compliant and respectful (my mother and father didn't tolerate mouthing back to authority figures). Sadly, Kaps approach to explaining his motives was poorly executed and even more poorly received. I can absolutely understand people not agreeing with things - thats the COST and BENEFIT of freedom. My point was that if you have been with with the Raiders since '74, thats 48 years of commitment that you would throw away because they hired a guy who took a knee to protest Police Violence. He never said he hated America. He never said he hated the troops. He did make a ridiculously uniformed case on the Cuban Health Care system being better than the US Healthcare system, (which was actually published by some group that did an analysis of world healthcare systems). As a Vet I served to defend those rights, and while I dont like everything I see, I accept that I don't have to, that doesn't mean it doesn't get to exist, or that I should look away in anger, pain or rejection.

    Niners weren’t bad Kaps last year, they were a dumpster fire, and his mediocre play was a bright spot in an embarrassing season for that team. Worst O-line in the league, a bunch of rejects for wide receivers (just name one from that season without googling, I’ll wait), a running back that missed most of the season, Chip Kelly as a head coach….the Niners were a smoking crater at that time. Matt Stafford leaves a dumpster fire and wins a Super Bowl. My point? The team around a QBs matters greatly. Even with the absolute mess of the Niners Kap still had middle of the road stats.
    As for his comeback, yeah, he’ll be rusty as hell, but his talent MAY still be there, and that talent went to two NFC championships and a Super Bowl. It’s that potential for upside in a backup QB that a team would make him QB 2 or 3 for. Hell, the plan isn’t for Carr to get hurt; Carr plays the season, Raiders get some potential that could go either way at the backup spot, and Kap gets to ride the bench and work himself back up to NFL stamina. If it doesn’t work out the raiders can just cut him and pick up any number of mediocre journeymen with less potential upside off the wire.
    Does the move come with risk? Yeah. But what a better risk - the “safe” bums who are backups now but you know if your main guy goes down they aren’t gonna do shiz for you, or take a chance on a guy that’s had a major layoff, but has two NFC championships and Super Bowl under his belt, AND is still a physical freak..but needs some time to get back into NFL shape? That’s an easy call to make, especially if I’m paying the same for both of em.

Worst O-Line in the league by far? Worst receiving corps in the league by far? Carlos Hyde (Starting RB) injured for two season? Premier defensive stars retiring in their prime to get out of the team? Kap had mediocre play on the worst team in the league, and it wasn't even close. Was Stafford a poor QB, or was he a QB in a bad situation in Detroit?
      Kap was a good QB, but wasn't a great QB. He was very talented and a physical freak, but he definitely hadn't mastered the position. Oh wait, in his five years in the league he played with THREE different offensive systems with THREE different HCs and Offensive Coordinators! He had a cadre of WRs you can't even name now. He never had the chance to grow into a great quarterback.
      If you don't like the guy, thats cool, I'm really not sure I like him, but thats NOT the point. Everything shows he was a good QB that had GREAT upside, but the organization fell apart and burned down around him (GM versus Head Coach versus Owner fallout).

He was given a golden opportunity by the Ravens, before his girlfriend called their star player Ray Lewis a racial slur and he had a workout in Atlanta where all NFL teams had scouts ready to evaluate him. Instead, he sabotaged the workout and moved it. He was only collectively snubbed by owners because the circus he brings is bad for business and a number of fan bases were calling in and getting on message boards bitching about it. Owners were clearly afraid of the fallout; not to mention after Harbaugh left his skills deteriorated considerably as evidence to him going 1-10 as a starter in 2016. When you get beat out by journeyman QB Blaine Gabbert, that's pretty much a sign that you just ain't that good.

    As a longtime 49ers fan who enjoyed Kap's playing thru 2014 and was disappointed by his drastic drop in playmaking abilities so I had no problem with the team moving on from him by 2016, I hear your take, especially the fact that the last season he played was a career-worst performance and that was 6 years ago.
    Kap could be a tremendous comeback story, but a "potential comeback story" isn't a good reason, in and of itself, for a team to bring him on.
    The only justification I can think of, besides a PR stunt (ie Tebow), is to tutor a young QB but he doesn't have the resume or experience normally needed for that kind of role.

    • @gumpgump5288

      It's no comeback!!? Your team was destroyed his last two years there! The coach left, , 5 people retired, others were traded away!!! The front office had issues and, there was a culture problem is the reason people left the team! Lynch came in and, they are just now getting back on track after 6 years! Two NFC Championship Games in a row and, a Superbowl is a great feat for them to just get back in the mix speaks volumes for Kap!

    Saying Kap is not better than most QBs in the league is crazy
    Michael Vick went to prison and came back in was still straight
    Last time I checked Vick was a running QB
    Why folks keep bringing up Tom Brady is amazing
    When Brady had to fight to get on the field at Michigan cause the Michigan fans wanted Drew Henson and the Pats went to the Super Bowl with Drew Bledsoe who was the number 1 draft pick when he came out of college
    So if Bledsoe never got hurt and the tuck rule or Tom Brady would have never got Randy Moss would Brady been great
    Before Moss , Tom Brady was a manager that played the QB position
    And if any Michigan fan says that he was the man at Michigan that would be a lie
    Back to Colin Kaepernick last time I checked he is been taking care of his body
    He is better than Tua
    He better than any QB on Seattle and Carr is not an elite QB period
    He is better Wilson in New York

    Lions drafted a QB in the first round out of Eastern Michigan back in the day and attempted make him a running QB
    Aaron Rodgers while at Cal was a mobile QB that threw the ball
    It is about the situation that you put the QB in
    Under Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma I could put any QB in the system for an entire year and he will pass for over 3000 passing yards easy
    He is the best back up that any NFL team can get
