I have a lab but recently we had to give her away. Normally you would hear that dogs are something that will be with you and is a shining ball of light and so was my dog but as irresponsible as I am I couldn't properly take care of her. I didn't get the positive mindset after I got her I was already depressed so I mostly spent alot of time inside my room hoping not to be social. My dad took care of her in the mean time but due to lack of training she was mischevious and sometimes out of control (I belive this happened most likely because she was still a puppy and puppies do have a huge amount of energy). After we gave her I got the chance to see her again she was all healthy and well. But she seemed more happy to see my dad and I understand why after how much times I asked for a dog I couldn't take care of myself and when I got one it was difficult. Till this day I still think how irresponsible I was to a living creature who was given to me I miss her and I hope I can get my mental health and physcial health in my control. At first glance having a pet is easy but take a deep thought on your lifestyle and how much you can handle with one.

Just fyi, I now have a 10 month lab puppy (so a lot of this is puppy behavior… I hope). But for anyone else looking on info on this puppies, I’ll tell you something literally no one tells you about the breed because they like to glorify them (I agree. They are great. But hear me out). These dogs, or mine at least, are EXTREMELY energetic. Playing fetch for half an hour a day qon’t cut it. Our lab goes on a minimum hour long walk every morning, gets back, plays fetch for a while and then starts to settle down. He doesn’t really fall asleep again until about noon or so. After that he wakes up sporadically, and is VERY attached to the family. Like seriously, we leave him alone in the kitchen because otherwise it’s impossible to work with him roaming the house and gettung into mischief, or even worse just him literally trying ti be on top of you because he wants cuddles or more playtime. We also decently frequently give him another hour or two walk in the afternoon, at about five which is when he gets antsy again. If we don’t, wemost definitely have to play fetch and tug of war with him at around 6 or 7 for quite a while because otherwise he just becomes unbearable. Oh, and they are addicted to food. We have not yet found a way to not get him to climb on us and try to sniff our plate while we eat, and that is kind of annoying. You might think close the door and don’t let him near? Well no, you absolutely cannot do fun or food related activities without your lab in the same room because he just goes insane. And their bark is QUITE powerful and unoleasant to listen to. These are just the things that happen to me that I saw literally no one on youtube or forums talk about. I love my lab to pieces and he is great, mind you, but I tried to focus a bit on the negatives here.
It’s all about training if you dont train them youn when they are a few months old they will developers bad habits like this so it is not the dogs fault in your case its the lack of training playing isnt the only thing
@@martozoneast1098 sorry but that is not the case. We trained him since the day we got him home, and when we realized our admittedly limited knowledge wasn’t enough, we started going to puppy classes. We still train him at home.
Thanks for sharing your experience. It is my dream to own a brown lab, but I can't at this stage in my life because they indeed need a lot of exercise and attention. People have to know their limits before bringing a dog into their lives. You sound like you were well informed, but still, you can never be fully prepared I think.
Is there really a con to owning a lab. A partner in anything you choose, adventure in the mountains, ready to go. Beaches, yup, sign em up. A walk in the park, hold up, let me get my leash. A vacuum cleaned under the baby's high chair never fails. Expressions, they have so many cute ones, can't help but smile. I love my Sadie so much, the best dog ever.
By some weird work of fate, me and my wife ended up with one of these puppies a day or two ago. Me and my wife are seriously considering keeping him. I’m glad to know this breed is good with kids.

Our lab is also our guard dog and she’s great with it!!! ❤️ she loves to eat and at one point became obese. Haha 😆 now she is fit after the vet suggested her diet. Love her so much.
Picked up a lab pit mix for $5 at the shelter and at 15 weeks she’s the best pup for my toddlers. I cannot invoke any aggressive behavior even when playing rough
I’ve had a lab in my life since 1996. They are the greatest dog in the world!! But, the shed like crazy, they CHEW everything, the EAT everything, and they are as strong as oxen (so keep that in mind when walking), and they are HIGH energy. I love all this things but it’s not for everyone
Add the cost of a lab what you are going to spend in replacing shoes, clothes, sofas, rugs, sport equipment, items that are swept off the coffee table from their wagging tail… And they are extremely smart, but do dumb things
Really miss my labby. I put her down April of this year after a very strong seizure left her paralyzed. Very sudden. We found out she ended up bleeding in the brain. It just feels so empty in here. I kept her as my house pet after she retired from being my guide dog.

And my dog never quit playing fetch! She loved it. She is now waiting for me before the rainbow bridge. I truly never loved an animal so much! I really miss her!

Some unknown facts about Labradors: 1) in the womb, they form as just a stomach first. The rest of the dog forms around the stomach. 2) The tail is a separate sentient being and should have its own name. 3) If your Lab doesn't eat it...neither should you! My first dog (got her 3 years ago) is an "English" Lab. (I know the breed is just Labrador Retriever) She is 90 lbs of the sweetest creature you could ask for. But they are a little bit of work. A good Lab is a tired Lab. Get them exercise and they are awesome.

Playing with him at her request and her last words to him prior before her last Sunday of her life . I love You Bruno , Priceless . So yes Yellow Labradors are the most sought of loyal , loving - etc etc My advice get one . Enjoy ! Bruno’s Dad
We adopted one 3 weeks ago he is very playful loves the family and it's only a puppy. It is a very emotional it loves being around the family and it learns quickly to pee and poop outside I would reccomend this breed for anyone.
When I was 19 on my sophomore year, my two college roommates were brothers from New Jersey who brought their 9 year old black Lab along with them. After a few days, she decided she liked me best. Would be beside me, hip to hip, when I sat on the floor to watch TV and would constantly shift her body to make sure she was as close to me as possible. Kind of embarrassing for the two guys who'd raised her from a puppy, lol.
My lab was quite different. We didn't train him and unfortunately he turned out to be aggressive. He would bite you sometimes for petting him and had resource guarding issues. He was also a guard dog
I have 2 Labradors male and female my male just passed away on March 24 due to parvo Yoko was really a good boy. Luckily i have my female Labrador left she also got infected with parvo but she survived.
No cons whatsoever except for a lot of hair and they love tennis balls 🎾 . I’ve had labs all my life and they’re the best dogs which is why they re the most popular . They’re absolutely loyal and won’t wander far from their owners and I can’t say enough good about this breed .
My Labrador retriever is very active and for some reason he bites me and my fam.....so I need help and suggestions if I should send my Lab (Lucas) for training
I have a German shepherd-Black Lab mix...he’s not quite a year old and he’s super hyper. It’s pretty cute when you are doing something tho...if you are outside carrying wood, he will try to get some too. If you are digging, he will dig too. He’s a good boy, but he’s super energetic and we don’t have much space 😂 he’s also kind of a b!tch...when he was around my family’s other dogs he literally laid on his back and just let them sniff him. When they were playing fetch we used just one large branch do the dogs had to “compete” for it...he didn’t get it. He is also shedding like crazy rn since it’s spring time so we have to sweep twice a day just to avoid stepping in a clump of hair. We try to give him an hour or more per day of play time (outside) but it’s hard because we don’t have much space or much time to take him to a dog park considering we don’t have any good ones near us.
pacific570 1 week ago I’ve had 4 labs in my lifetime and every single one of them were excellent guard dogs. Never trained them to do so, they just naturally were like that I guess. One has even protected my family in one instance out of pure instinct. Labs for the win John Doe Now Goldens would never be a "guard dog"....they won't even growl or snap when toddlers poke them in the eyes, sit on them and pull their hair. My childhood friend's Grandma had one. His name was Nugget and he would let a wild skunk come into his dog house and sleep with him every night. ua-cam.com/video/DlUyHogoyvE/v-deo.html If that ^^ was a Lab they would have grabbed that kitten by the nap of the neck then killed or maimed it.
I thought you weren't supposed to have your puppy around other dogs out of its family for the first 4 months or until the 2nd round of vaccination kicks in. How would you suggest socialising then between 2 and 4 months? Want to get one but so many questions!
Haha. Yes playing fetch is a must for Labrador retrievers and they ll bring it back every time unlike other breeds who like to play I have the ball now come and get it . If there is water around you can be sure the lab will jump in when you turn your head . All u will hear is splash .
My Labrador was black and she didnt allow anyone in our home. She was the best guard dog, because i could shove my hand in her mouth and she didn't care. She was my best friend and she was my sister. Rest in peace Nala
I live in a small apartment by myself, I'm fine with exercising my dog in the morning and at night, and I'd like my dog to be easy to train. I want a buddy more than a protection dog. So although they're quite different, but I've narrowed it down to Labs or Chow Chows. Which one would be better for me?
My lab followed me everywhere even in the house. Felt crowded in a 2 bedroom house with him. The chow might be a better choice if your apartment is on the smaller size.
These dogs are use in RPF India these are training dogs each of them have there own dogmaster when their dogmaster say them to sit they sit till their dog master not say to do another things they are very sweet and they don't bite or bark to much labradors are best

So yes Yellow Labradors are the most sought of loyal , loving - etc etc
My advice get one .
Enjoy ! Bruno’s Dad
They’re always smiling)))
We adopted one 3 weeks ago he is very playful loves the family and it's only a puppy. It is a very emotional it loves being around the family and it learns quickly to pee and poop outside I would reccomend this breed for anyone.
Any potty training tips please and thank you very much I’d love the help
When I was 19 on my sophomore year, my two college roommates were brothers from New Jersey who brought their 9 year old black Lab along with them. After a few days, she decided she liked me best. Would be beside me, hip to hip, when I sat on the floor to watch TV and would constantly shift her body to make sure she was as close to me as possible. Kind of embarrassing for the two guys who'd raised her from a puppy, lol.
There's no negative points about a Labador. Once you have had one. Their full of love
Encountering a well socialized, leashed, properly trained Labrador is not an easy feat.
My doggy was one I miss her soo much I would do anything to get her back
Me too. 💔
Likewise
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Her voice is really soothing to hear 😊
One of the yellow dogs looks much more like a Golden Retriever than any Labrador I’ve seen in Australia
They like to chew? That’s an understatement
My labra is mix of doberman and labra, I got complete package family dog with 50 percent of doberman attitude, but cute and childish like labra.
Cute !
No cons whatsoever except for a lot of hair and they love tennis balls 🎾 . I’ve had labs all my life and they’re the best dogs which is why they re the most popular . They’re absolutely loyal and won’t wander far from their owners and I can’t say enough good about this breed .
Zero cons best dogs ever
Wow i love labrador dog
Surrounded by Zazus everywhere :O That would be nice
Biting and chewing they sure do love my young lab at least
Wow beautiful
Just perfect.❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’ve had 5 of them... I’m a lab guy !!!
I’ve got a weird one. He is also a guard dog an has goood instincts outside seeing “off” people
The head really depends on what kind of lab it is. If it's an English Lab they have more blocky heads than American ones
European dobbies are thicker w more square heads. Utility dogs.
American dobbies long slender body and head. Show dogs.
I love Golden Retrievers way better though! Labs are nice but for me it’s Golden Retriever all the way!❤️❤️🤗🤗
Completely different disposition and dogs. Labs are hyper, can be aggressive and aren't as intelligent. Golden Retriever for me too!

I’ve had 4 labs in my lifetime and every single one of them were excellent guard dogs. Never trained them to do so, they just naturally were like that I guess.
One has even protected my family in one instance out of pure instinct.
Labs for the win
John Doe
Now
Goldens would never be a "guard dog"....they won't even growl or snap when toddlers poke them in the eyes, sit on them and pull their hair. My childhood friend's Grandma had one. His name was Nugget and he would let a wild skunk come into his dog house and sleep with him every night.

If that ^^ was a Lab they would have grabbed that kitten by the nap of the neck then killed or maimed it.
You must be liking this video since half the dogs are Golden Retrievers
I am confused if this is a labrador video or golden retriever video!
Same dog longer hair . Golden Labrador retriever is the correct name
I have a golden lab and a fix red puppy they’re the best
THERE. ARE. NO. CONS.
R they guard dogs as well?
Silver too
When it comes to guard dogs I don't need aggression I just need the dog to bark. I provide the 12 guage aggression.
I have a chocolate lab , he is very energetic but very sweet
Labador retriever is a great dog.🥰
❤️❤️😘
I thought you weren't supposed to have your puppy around other dogs out of its family for the first 4 months or until the 2nd round of vaccination kicks in. How would you suggest socialising then between 2 and 4 months? Want to get one but so many questions!
We are going to look at a 5 year old lab on Thursday.🐩🐩🐕🐕💐💐🐓🐓
The con is that there is no con 🥰
Beautiful dog! They want to please you!
There are no cons when it comes to Labs!
Debating getting a brown lab- not sure if he will be okay in an apartment with a cat, but I’ll get him out at least 2 hours a day so it may be okay
Labradors can have serious dietary (gastro-intestinal) issues requiring special food.
If not seen too early, it can be expensive due to complications.
I live in a small apartment by myself, I'm fine with exercising my dog in the morning and at night, and I'd like my dog to be easy to train. I want a buddy more than a protection dog. So although they're quite different, but I've narrowed it down to Labs or Chow Chows. Which one would be better for me?
lab this video convinced me
My lab followed me everywhere even in the house. Felt crowded in a 2 bedroom house with him. The chow might be a better choice if your apartment is on the smaller size.
If you live in a apartment better to get a beagle because labs need lot of excercise!!
Man don't rush into it. Labs are cool but they are demonic they will ruin your apartment
Chows are horrible. Get a Shiba Inu if you don’t have the time to exercise a Lab
My Labrador barks at new people for 3-6 minutes then is wary then he is perfectly fine
There are many golden retrievers in the video. Though both are friendly dogs with similar natures still they are two different breeds.
yes everything (including biting like my dog)
These dogs are use in RPF India these are training dogs each of them have there own dogmaster when their dogmaster say them to sit they sit till their dog master not say to do another things they are very sweet and they don't bite or bark to much labradors are best
