Do you make the same EARLY GAME MISTAKES as this Crusader?

- There's a lot going on now in the early game, so you need to make sure you look for opportunities to do them. Identifying when you are free of baby sitting your carry is essential to be able to do other things. I break down some mistakes of a Crusader Hard Support player to help you see these chances.

it could be interesting to take a look at the same decision in varying contexts to understand what goes into making that decision. Something like "you just finished a costly trade in lane, do you go back to base?" across multiple games, discussing everything that factors into that decision in each specific situation
Best time for a video when coordinator down
Don't blame valve man they're just a new to this things
Another dank video. Thanks, ZQ.
I think what you say at 20 mins is a massive gold nugget of advice/philosophy that ppl really need to buy into imo to improve and gain mmr, i remember bsj touching on the topic in a video or 2 and it helpd me massively
Thanks for the vid! :)
11:00 Hoodwink grabbed the bounty rune right in front of qop + empty bottle. (7:03 game time)
this is actually hoodwink's intended role from my experience having it as an ally; you steal xp and bounty runes from your cores, spend the whole game missing spells while you farm towards your brown boots/maelstrom build, and then hide in the trees while the enemy takes your base. I think based on the aesthetic, the majority of people picking this hero in lower mmrs are people who would probably be more happy with a mylittlepony coloring book.
@@auto1nfanticid3 this garbage disney-coomerbait hero should've never been released

yeah youre right, im going back to my pudge only support @@auto1nfanticid3
very helpful video!
Thanks great content
How can he explain so good
Mantle of Intelligence
Le mayo. And Tome of Knowledge and Wisdom.
He did a good job explaining basic mechanics along with cause-and-affect
I really enjoyed your sense of humor. Your sarcasm isn't aggressive - you clearly aren't trying to offend anyone. In fact, you use sarcasm in an educational and didactic manner - you aim to make people reflect on certain ideas.
love your vids.
The Moment I leave my lane for Bounty, My core instantly die and blame me and Feed.
It's a late reply but I'll usually select the 'Careful!' message as I'm leaving lane, just to give them a heads up and play safer and it's also harder to flame on team chat since they all saw you tell him to be careful
Great advice!
Unrelated question: How come the ward timer left of the unit selection portrait is all visible? Mine and similar other timers are all cut off, like they were cropped badly.
Ummm I'm not sure, that might be a bug? It should be there when you click on things unless I'm crazy and it only shows in replays. But I'm pretty sure it does show in real games (at least your own stuff). I'll double check next time I play
It shows for me but not the whole thing, it's weirdly cropped. Maybe it's a driver or resolution thing. Thanks for looking into it!
Have you tried pouring soy milk into your computers motherboard
How do you decide when you should only be harassing the enemy core a priority and the enemy support as secondary? I only ask because sometimes attacking the melee core barely produces any damage.
Ty in advance for feedback 😃
His "Lane positioning explained" Video goes explains exactly this in depth
I'm not a good player by any means but this video was massively helpful in identifying something I did correctly the other day instinctively but didn't really understand why. I was playing Sven vs Bristleback top lane, and while we got a couple kills it never felt like I was actually getting ahead. Eventually I just left the lane, farmed my jungle towards my lane as it was naturally pushing, and while my team gave the enemy carry a bunch of kills bot lane, it also meant that I had like 15 to 20 minutes of uninterrupted and relaxed farming. By the time I felt ready to join fights I was unstoppable and we won easily.
Do you do analysis (on stream) for any role or just post 4-5?
Any role! I can help the most with supporting, but I can give some feedback for core roles
Thank you! I plan on playing some as pos 3 or 4 as I relearn Doto and might drop by then.
Awesome video
But that 3 obs down on bot lane really pisses me off as a pos 5 lmao
Seriously, it drives me nuts as well. Understanding where the place wards is a key part of being a good support because it shows that they understand where it is the most important to have vision.
@@NewbtuberI was rewatching my shadow shaman game yesterday to know who fed 3 rapiers to the opposite team and saw enemy Io buying wards from the store but never placing them. The guy who fed was our BH mid with nickname "Mid or feed". And thank god that Io never placed these wards or they would've won
Dude sounds like a dissapointed father
so iirc i said that puck and tide 4 are the real new shit but nvm that, Leshrac 5 thats the real stuff now ya trade amazingly, lightning storm is so good fr fr
How did you get player view to work?
you buy both wards, give one to mid and then you buy the next ward. the first ward he placed was missplaced, the one next to their own tower, the second one next to their tower showing the river was better. nothing wrong with haveing two wards up at safelane.
he is not feeding, not much to critezise in this game tbh
let me explain: people archon and below dont care about objectives to them, winning fights is more important than taking objectives. and i always try to explain how taking objectives win you the game. you can make the argument that winning fights helps you win the game but they are too scared to right click the towers sometimes even when 2-3 people are dead. they will win a fight and immediately go back to farming instead of taking a tower. then wonder why the game is 60+ minutes long
Im really new player but I like watching videos that explain and in Herald where I play it is so common sometimes I want to break the computer.
That mix of non communication with escaping from taking objective is so annoying and causing so much loses
Most MOBA/ARTS players play them like they were CoD TDMs instead of being strategy games. Sadly.
Play Warlock so you can fight early with Q/E/shard and then push in between with golem, ending with aghs/refresher!
watching this stuff is so anxiety inducing
I always get mad when i play mid and somebody has already taken the 5 minute ward as power runes have to spawn
yes but this mid is too stupid to even know what vision is, let alone get mad about it. the fact that they never warded especially at the start vs a ranged hero tells me this person is closer to herald than archon.
HI Zack its Matt from ranked :)
Hey zquixotix do you ever look at turbo games? Thats the only gamemode i play :)
If you play turbo you are a pure 4fun player. Nothing wrong with that but do not expect an analysis of a game in which noone is truely trying.
It probably won't go up on UA-cam, but I don't mind doing them on stream
I mean the only thing that u need to do to win in turbo is just have a crazy good last hit mechanic and u will win eventually
Yes, I make these early game mistakes as a crusader.
Can you coach me please? Im a support player in crus-archon
Can you say hello to my friend Kadir in your next video and say you will never be more than cruseder :D
IMO Hoodwink is dead as a hero, I think her ulty should be pure again, or get better gas (shard is fine) but sience they made shanges on atos shee is dead... well you can still rush storm so you can farm it up but ur timeing are going down... and she lost invis as well. Was she picked in this last tour? I really like this hero but iddno u can pick tusk thats better and both of ES, its sad when they just kill a hero
Bruh wtf is that obs placement at the start lmfao archon moments
on stream "its very important to get 6, do it even if it means stealing xp from your carry" ... meanwhile on vid.... "we want to hit 6 but not by stealing Lifestealer's xp" ..... lmao xD
Yeah, i mostly play support and team screaming "WARDS!! We need vision!!" and most of the time the store is out of wards and i see that other lane has like 2 there and 2 in inventory... Sry, cant help
I understand that Pos 5 leaves the core way early as you go higher in rank.
In Crusader it is norm to not leave unless the carry has their farming item. Any delay in its timing due to them dying is considered as a grief from supports part. Most likely, most pos 1 in the bracket don't get the farm in Jungle that quickly and hence the best way to get their farming item is still the lane.
So, 12-14 min laning is usual. While I understand it is sub-optimal, but if Carry doesn't approach the game in the same way, it is very likely the tilt condition
I think it's fair to stay in lane longer in lower MMRs (and I would even expect it), but I think the idea of still being able to identify that this should be a chance to go is important. It may not happen as frequently as high MMR matches, but it should still happen more than your opponents relative to your own bracket. Like staying with your carry when both enemy heroes are up might be fine even though a higher MMR carry would play it safe for you to roam for something, but you should definitely be able to leave after getting great equilibrium and one opponent is dead for 20 seconds
@@ZQuixotixI agree, also if you communicate and have a character like LS as your laner then you have really done all you can with regards to rotating. Wisdoms, river runes, gating to the enemy safe lane, stacking will easily dominate these Lower mmr games. I think the most impact you can have is to pressure the enemy safelane as a 5 and then direct your teammates through your movement. IE, but early smokes and ping them, ping stacked camps, show up to situations when your teammates don’t expect it early.
@@ZQuixotix Yes, I agree. I am trying to be more useful during laning as well. Stacking / Rune control etc.
I really liked the way you pointed out the importance of wards for all lanes. I / my carry have been hooked due to lack of vision as my 4 thought lighting that part of map is super important
I find asking the core helps. "Do you need me in lane? I want to help other lanes" if they say no, they are more likely to be ok and not tilt if they die. 😀
I only stayed 10+ on a Lane Once, when i was a Disruptor and enemy's offlaner was PB against Dusa, so in my pressence Primal did no shit against Dusa. But if u have to stay 10min on every game bcuz they are carried babies instead of hardcarrying, its their fault, just flame that peruvian a**
bubby
True players need no vision its actually better if it was not there so you can bitch and moan that supports didnt put a ward where you died. Even tho you wandered in there totally without vision to die.
6:40 pretty presumptuous of you to assume this crusader mid even knows what a ward is. The fact that they didnt take one to start with vs a ranged hero tells me they never had any intention of warding. In this case my advice to the supports would be to ward mid's lane for them and/or rudely call them out in comms for being trash and unkindly suggesting they ward their own lane.
I play in herald and mid takes AT LEAST an obs every single game. It's the one thing that herald mids agree on.
@@josephreynolds2401 well they'd be right, which means this qop is fundamentally worse at laning than a herald in his same position. in truth you want your lane warded for at least 10 minutes, which means buying 2 obs and usually 1-2 sentries, though there's many players even in archon/legend that only know to buy the first obs and then choose to play in darkness for 5 minutes when night comes.
Helloooo
You watch all of this video play good but you team suck and lose thats what dota is.
Hi there Zquitotix. Big fan here. Love your insight and view of the game.
Can you help with this one? Archon bracket, i'm the mid Tiny. Thanks to a lot of early rotations from the pos 5 NP i stomped mid and was able to snowball really hard and entirely dominate early and midgame. I understand the NP rotations left our carry Muerta alone in lane for a while and she didnt have the Best start, but i feel like i rolled over the map and have her a lot of space. She farmed well but i think she failed to deliver in teamfights. Later into the game we started losing a couple fights and the enemy Luna got too fat and i couldnt kill her anymore and the game just completely turned. Everyone blamed Muerta and i kinda agree but wanna know what i could have done better. I ended 30/6/16 but we failed highground pushes even with aegis and finally lost the game.
