Hey Will 🤗 my fav UA-camr 😍 I wanted to ask if you've ever tried rice water for a protein treatment. Its makes your hair so soft and strong. I use it once a month because I'm low porosity. People out there doing it daily and thats crazy to me because its a protein treatment.
Wow, I was just thinking about protein and moisture today. I did rice water treatments every week for five weeks straight and my hair started shedding after the fifth treatment. I began over hydrating my hair daily to combat the protein overload. I was trying to figure out if my hair is hydro fatigued and how to fix it when I got your notification. Thanks for the video
Yes, but it’s not always genetics though, my hair is waist length and a lot of people in my family don’t have that. it’s really all about taking care of your hair.
I had a couple of days last week where i couldn't be bothered doing my hair...no satin bonnet, no re moisturising, no detangling. Oml i lost so much hair when it came to wash day!! I learnt my lesson...
You spoke about genetics and it made me not feel so bad. I’ve been natural my whole life, and it only ever grows to one point. It seems to get bigger? But the actual length has never passed the middle of my back.
so then why doesn't my hair stop growing right after I cut it? because this isn't true, your hair never stops growing indefinitely, it stops growing at a certain point of each year but then restarts the growth cycle. the reason people's hair seem to stop growing is that they're not taking enough care of it and the hair strands are break off faster than they're growing.
exactly. I had a patch of hair that was short for years but turns out i had this tick were i would run my hand through my hair in that spot and break my hair off/pull it out
And also satin and silk is not the exact same! I know a UA-camr who actually lost hair using a satin pillowcase. So it’s all about what works for you! But definitely use silk or satin. No cotton and yesss Will these twist are giving me lifeeee!!! I can’t wait until my hair gets to that length😩
Yup silk is definitely more luxurious and is a naturally occuring fiber, whereas satin is mixture of things, including silk. I'd say get silk if you can afford it, but Satin isn't a bad alternative!
The thing people don’t understand is that “satin” is not a material, it’s a “finish”. Most satin scarves are actually polyester with a satin (smooth) finish. It is best to buy silk scarves with satin finishes. And yes, there are silk scarves with rough finishes.
THANK YOU! Someone finally put nutrition at the top of the list. That plays such a huge role in the length and health of your hair...and soooo many of these videos ignore that. So thank you, sir, for putting this in your video.
THANK YOU for stating the genetics/diet hair growth connection! So many people (including UA-camrs, lol) tout this product and that device to grow hair---gotta make those Bens, lol---but it really isn't what goes ON your head, but IN your body!
I felt embarrassed watching this video 😩 I definitely handle my hair too rough for twists and I drench and moisturize my hair 😭 thank you for enlightening me
Finally someone straight to the point and saying how its down to genetics instead of some you tubers saying how their hair grew like five inches in a month.
Moisture/Protein balance! Say it louder for the people in the back! I had to learn the hard way. I followed too people with low porosity hair and overly conditioned my hair. I now alternate between a deep conditioner and a mild protein treatment weekly.
we really don’t deserve you, will. the effort and the editing you put in all your videos is unmatched. you make info more fun, i love you! ❤️❤️ (thank god for your humor, vines were my life.😂😂)
i’ve never clicked subscribe so fast in my life. your hair and personality are everything!!🥰 i’m still sad my hair won’t grow, but your video cheered me up and taught me things. thanks boo!
Your channel is so freaking entertaining omg😭😂😂😂😂I usually have a hard time watching videos about Afro hair cause I just want to get to the point, so I just skip through the video but your videos are always so funny. Like your editing and facial expression are always on point I love it💜
I learnt so much. My hair is currently spongy but on the dry side and the protein-moisture balance point sounds like me. The genetics point also got me. I have wanted to grow my hair for the past two months and have a whole list of stuff I use to moisturize my hair after showering (I onlh wet my hair to give it a small moistur boost because I do not have a spray bottle yet then alternate between oils and shea butter and just the shea butter. I wanted to wash my hair weekly to help avoid product build up but te day I used my ma's sulfate shampoo (I swear, I searched high and low for organic non-sulfate) my hair felt dry and almost look like it shed a bit after conditioning. The pre-poo lesson in one of the previous videos really helped me with the solution to that. In short, I just want to say this channel is a really great help🔥
This is amazing! I clicked on your video by accident, not super interested in learning about hair. But I can’t stop watching your videos!! You’re hilarious and make hair interesting and relatable. My hair thanks you
I hate it when people say if you want you hair to grow put in a nice protector style like 🤦🏽♂️ WHY YOU THINK IM GROWING MY HAIR IN THE FIRST PLACE U DONT HAVE ENOUGH HAIR FOR PROTECTIVE STYLES
Besides you being so knowledgeable about your craft (I wish I paid as much attention in beauty school), I love watching your videos and all the funny inserts you add 😂😂💖 you always make me wanna watch funny vines afterwards. You are so hilarious 😁 keep doing your thing, much respect to you 💪💪💖💖
I’m trying everything to grow my hair! I’ve noticed that my hair really only grows if I take vitamins or if I’m wearing a protective style. If I try on my own...slow broth or barely any!😹
Lol you are too funny😂. The animations that you use in your videos are just hilarious but everything that you said is absolutely true and I am very happy and grateful that you chose to be yourself in every video that you make. Keep up with the good work👌🏾
My hair used to be a little past my shoulders when I got it hot combed but I got a perm and went in the pool without washing it good after and my hair broke off. Now my hair doesn't even reach my shoulders when straightened. I'll be honest I don't wash my hair often, I comb balls of hair out sometimes etc. Ima try to be better and should be getting crochet braids soon. I've had braids maybe 3 times in my life and always hated them so hopefully this will be better.
Mmmm the first one is not completely correct. It’s all true but 85-90% of the hair is always in anagen, catagen 6-8% and 3-4% telogen. Each strand of hair is at different stages of the hair cycle. Meaning your hair 85-90% of the hair is always growing
Never heard anyone mention genetics! Makes so much sense! Thank you btw I’m a new subbie lol I love your humor. Wish me luck on my natural hair journey ✊🏽❤️
