Funny fact, a friend of mine had this poster from beautiful feak in his old house hanging over his sofa. I never ask him what this band sounds like. Today I heard my first song of eels ,man I feel like a fool now, I could enjoyed the music over 10 years ago! :D
I love this band more than you can imagine...I bought an "E" CD back in the Early 90's and have loved them ever since....this is WITHOUT A DOUBT. ...one of THE MOST "under appreciated" bands ON EARTH.....I know a lot of people don't care about money and fame and just enjoy "doing what they do" and I pray this band continues "doing what they do" despite what "someone" might say is popular and they "should do"....Keep doing what you do EELS! LOVE IT!
What gets me about this song is it's actually about him and his dog(at least that's what I was told). After watching the video and listening to it I can see the connection. Now every time I hear it and watch the video which completes it, I think about my dog and ponder the same thoughts in his lyrics. Def. one of the best lyricists of our generation IMO.
The man just isn't capable of writting bad songs, they're all brilliant ! Most gifted songwritter of his generation...probably not only his generation !

As an extreme animal lover, this one almost had me crying because I thought he was taking his pup to be "euthanized". I was so glad that he was just buying it chow. From the chatter, I guess Mark loves his pup as much as we love our 2 beagles and a house full of rescue kitties.

totally relate to this song, about facing your mortality and the fact that we all yearn, in some way, for what we have lost....very evocative song
