I was there witnessing Larsen's miraculous come-back from 1 to 13 down in the second game to winning the match. This victory is a big boost to Larsen's confidence. Later that year, Larsen was to meet Dong again in the Olympics final and he beat Dong in two straight games in a commanding manner.
yep... such "miracles" actually not too rare under the old scoring rule; (not sure if anyone has statistics) but i remember another quite famous game (98 Uber Final Susi/Ye), Susi was 1:10 behind in the opening game (back then WS was 11 points) yet she caught all the way up to 9:10 (she still lost that game but Ye's winning short was a bit controversial imo; if they had hawk eye challenge the outcome could be just like this game)
