- Have you ever checked exported png image's dimension?
Does your Illustrator file crashes while exporting large files?
Illustrator exporting images in some weird number resolution (don't know why). So I found the proper way to export artboards.
Photoshop and Illustrator both calculating DPI differently from each other. In photoshop, 100x100 px @300dpi Image will get exported same resolution of 100x100. But In Illustrator 100x100 px image @300 dpi will make resolution way too much larger. You will better understand if you try practically.
I hope you'll learn something out of it. :)

hi, I saved for web as you did and the pixels dimension was indeed correct, but I've opened the image in Photoshop and saving for web keeps the pixels rate but it saves the png (in my case jpg) to 72dpi!!I don't know but in Photoshop if I create a new file with 3000px 3000px it says its 25,4 centimeters, but in illustrator 3000px are 105,83 cm!!So what I do now is I export my illustator image to jpg (makes a jpg file with many more pixels than 3000px) open in Photoshop go to image size, write 3000px and save as a jpg and now the values are ok.what do you think?
You are making "new document" in Illustrator or Photoshop with 300dpi that's why it is making larger resolution.
When you "save for web", AI will export as 72dpi. So, 3000 by 3000px = 105.83cm
Make sure you are choosing right dpi in both Photoshop & Illustrator.
*Golden Tip* : For Screens use 72dpi with Points or Pixel unit & for printing 300dpi with cm/inch unit. It's all related to dpi. Not pixel resolution.
If you compare 2 documents in Photoshop, one with 3000x3000 px 72dpi & another with 300dpi. Both document will have same 3000px size BUT if you check in Centimeters (Ctrl+Alt+i) you will see the difference.
I hope you understood :)

Nice Tutorial. One of My Problems solved But Plz provide guidance for the 2nd Query too. When We export it into PNG then its size reduced to much low i.e. 10 to 100 KB. Now When We Submit or Upload that File to Any Design Contest Platforms they decline it by saying that Image is Out of Quality or Pixalated. So Wot is the solution for that? Thanks!
Export high quality in settings
i have a problem i made a card but when i exported it it got blur???
Very useful . Thankyou
Thank you so much!!!!
Thanks a lot !!!
wow i didnt realized my dimensions were changing when i export as and i downloaded bunch of t shirt design with fonts to printify. should i go back and change all those files now? I m so confused :( thanks for the video.
for that large size I guess it's fine with just one pixel more or less. This could be affecting more for tiny artworks like icons & logos.
but still its of low quality when i zoom in.
kindly guide me
Thanks, problem solved 😘😘

That's because your Artboard size or position is in Fraction. Make it whole number (without decimals).
@@vectorslategraphicdesigntu8991 can u make a video how to fix this simple error

I did exactly as you showed. The document was saved at 72 dpi and I need it to be saved at 300. Is there a way to do that as I want to upload the image onto a t-shirt. Thank you.
i strongly recommend this video: this is the video explaining more about the link between Artboard & Resolution. Hope you find it useful. ua-cam.com/video/bp28K3WsfRw/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for providing this video. My problem has been solved thanks to the info in the video. This is what I did:
First, I created a new document in inches and I made sure that I selected the Print Mode at the top of the initial set up board.
Second, I exported as rather than exported for web. I selected PNG and it automatically saved it in pixels in the correct dimensions and at 300 ppi.
Thanks for your help.
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️. If you don't find the option in save is in export
what if I want it the png to be for print so need the resolution to be 300?

How about export to pdf ?
Thank you!!!!!!!!!
But, my problem is different. My logo appears correct in laptop but it appears somewhat flat in android when I make it PNG! Why it happens!
Looks like you are having color/display issue. When I was facing similar issue in past I tried comparing my screen using online color/display test website to see if there is any problem with screen's color display capacity.
In my case it turned out My laptop was too dull in compare to android.
Hello, have you tried inkscape... If so ..can we change a 96 dpi png which was originally drawn on infinity painter and exported to inkscape from here can I save it as 300 dpi with out loosing quality ? If yes how do I do it... although I tried couldn't find a way... Kindly help...
Once a raster always a raster (unless we trace it back & create vector) in short, you can't upscale without loosing quality.
@@vectorslategraphicdesigntu8991 how about auto tracing my png with inkscape trace bitmap ... So it converted to vector... But still how do I export this at 300 dpi png ? It's still showing 96 dpi .. if you help me out with that
*thanks bro* 😀
thank you i can upload my work now
Great!
Please need help..
So u mean pixel = ppi
So if my document set up is pixel

Does this solution keep intact the 300 dpi and CMYK colour?
I've made a video related to that please watch this. ua-cam.com/video/bp28K3WsfRw/v-deo.html
But if we export for web then quality doesn't stay 300ppi... How do we keep 300ppi with same dimensions???

Thank you :)
It felt like delving down the rabbit hole tho!!! 😂😂
Do you know why it was exported at 4167px and not 1000px? That doesn't make any sense.
Because Illustrator exported it in 300 ppi instead of 72. so it got larger. To get exact PIXEL dimension as artboard, export it in 72ppi.
To Get Exact Inch/cm as Artboard, Export it in 300 ppi.

@@vectorslategraphicdesigntu8991 Hello. I need the file for printing onto fabric and I am saving the file as 72 ppi, it says that 72 is for screen.

When i export in PDF for my CV, my profile photo lose resolution, do you know how can I fix it?
If you don't mind, could you please share me that Ai file to: help[AT]vectorslate[DOT]com
@@vectorslategraphicdesigntu8991 I found a solution by not 'export' it in PDF but 'save as' PDF, anyway thanks for the replay.
Good. 👍🏻 You're welcome!
why is it showing pt instead of px when i set the size
To get Px unit, Deselect Everything > in top control bar there is a button called "Document Setup" > In that you can change document unit to pt, px, inch, cm etc..
But now the files aren't in 300 dpi :(
Thanks you
❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks j
does the dpi stays the same if we do this ?
Output Image will have 72dpi. Pixel Units are ONLY for Web & Screen uses. If you want it for Print than please export it as 300dpi. When Exporting for Print please do not worry about the pixel difference. In that case, watch the CM/INCH/Ft units. which will be the same even pixel size is higher. that's the funda of DPI.
my AI shows error when i try to export as 300 ppi but it exports fine in 200 ppi. also i need to export in 4500px by 5400px and as 300 ppi/dpi. but i haven't able to find a solution.
You can't export to defined pixels keeping the dpi 300. because 300 dpi is best fit for CM/Inch/Ft units.
tell me one thing, You already had decided to get the final resolution 4500x5400px so just export it as 72dpi (which is the Best fit for Pixel oriented output size.)
it works fine when exported in 72 ppi. am new to AI and i am just trying to meet this requirement.merch.amazon.com/resource/Y28FFE5NLRYJG4V
THEY are confused!! This might help you out: convert.town/image-dpi
That's great. but I guess it's not 300 Dpi right ? Thank you
It's not, it's actually 96dpi, but you can fix that in Photoshop or any program that can convert 96dpi to 300dpi without changing the image dimensions.
Tq
Thanq bro
You're welcome!
we cant save file in high quility
Yes you can. What do you mean? You get what you create.
thanks
You're welcome! ☺
Its because the DPI is incorrect. Try using 72dpi and you will get 1000px. 300dpi divide by 72dpi = 4.167. So 1000px X 4.167 = 4167px.
Bro after saving... The pixel decreases... Please save my ass
