I be-leaf in you and your succulent abilities! The process started in January and 3ish months later, here we are! No water what so ever was used to grow them, they mama leaf took care of all the work. You can grow under a grow light or near a window.
@@longlildoggiegarden it depends on the succulent and you don't need to have a schedule when the soil is completely dry you should "Drown that ho" I hope this helps 😊
I like that you showed what to do *after* the babies start to grow! Most succulent propagation videos stop at the part where the babies have begun but don't follow that up with what to do with them after that.
Can you tell me about how long it took before the leaves began to grow the rosettes? I put some out several days ago, but I’ve never done it before so I have no idea. And IF they start to grow babies I will screaming like a teenager too lol! Congrats! Happy growing! 🌱
@@MamaTthaOG depending on the type 2-3 weeks to start seeing them in action, then the little one you use will die off as it feeds water to the new baby. I will say I just did some off my ghost plant, and I swear that grows so slowly I may age before it roots lol. I’ve now found like Krystal to just throw them in the pots with my bigger plants. It’s easier and works like a charm. Happy planting to you! Hope works for you as well. Also I want to add, I found majority of mine on the floors below the succulent shelves at like Home Depot etc. Only about 3/4 actually started growing, which I feel is a good result, but they can vary.
I may or may not have gotten succulents leaves at the walmart garden section ( i didnt pull them off they were already fallen) and one of them is growing a little baby and im am so happy 😊
If there is leaves already knocked off by careless people grabbing at plants I'll take them, I've been told by numerous CSR's that they didn't care so 🤷🏽♀️😁 free babies!
OH, MY GOSH. Thank you for showing this process! I swear, I’d always put the leaves on the soil and NOT be able to fight the urge to water and end up rotting the leaves but I had no idea the babies grow right off the leaves like that; I realize I had no idea what to expect so I’m totally going to try this, again, with this new confidence you’ve given me. I can’t thank you, enough!!!
I appreciate this follow up to the other video! I did what you said & I started to notice some roots growing! You basically saved my plant cuz the mama is dead now 😭 so this chance at a new life for it is really exciting. I came back to see what to do next so for real thank you so much for posting this & helping teach us all about plants! Also I love your personality 😂 your videos are very fun on top of being informative!
I have succeeded in getting little succulent babies for the first time, after several attempts and I’m so proud! I really want to make an indoor succulent garden like the one you have shown in some videos with the big wide white pot. I just need to find the right pot for it! I can’t find one that it shallow enough.

Thank you! New plant mama and always overwatered when I tried years ago. Have kept succulents and mums alive so far this round (afraid to try anything else). Thank you for these helpful videos!!!!! I’ve wondered how to propagate the leaves 🍃
@@maplefoxxo I had the stem and roots where I cut the rosette off and plucked off leaves to propagate. I left it in the soil and now it's just pushing out in the spots where the leaves were plucked. I'm wondering what to do after they've grown in...
@@Mrs_Wizard ohh... Hmmm.. yeah I don't know!! Good luck with that, maybe they will make a video on it? I feel like over time the stem would dry off and the rosettes would gain their own roots, and you can pluck em off tho
My succulent has, i believe 7 leaves left. They're all drooping, the ones on the outside are black at the base, and the baby ones in the middle are starting to yellow and wilt too. Should i try this, or will relocating it to a sunny spot be enough to save it?
This is awesome I just got some clipping of a succulent so I’m going to try this out. Only thing is I don’t have a grow light so would I just put it in sunlight ?
Do I have to use a grow light I’m in uk weather is nice and sunny I’m indoors apartment, indirect sun ok? Or is grow light better how long a day for what colour spectrum is next for very small ones and how high does the light need to be. Sorry I asked so much. Great video btw

About how long does it take for the rosettes to grow? I haven't had any luck so far. I just got a some pandas, teddy bear, and chocolate soldier, among some others. I'm so excited!
Can anyone tell me about how long it will take from the time you put the leaves on the soil until they first start to grow their babies? 🥰 I put some out several days ago but don’t see anything yet…but I have absolutely no idea how long it takes. Ty.
I like to use a squirt bottle on the skinny little "stream" setting and put just a tiny bit of water on the soil near where the baby grows out of the mama leaf. I find that it promotes root growth, and as long as I am consistent and dont get the mama wet, it doesn't impede the baby's growth at all! I just only put a teeny bit of water to start, like a pea sized amount to start, and i only increase as needed to put some water on all the roots that I can see.
LMAO Krystal!! I've propagated some succulent leaves for a few weeks now and most of them have roots not babies yet!! Should I still "not" mist then yet, or being that they have more roots do I mist them?
I want to have tiny succulents but i dont know if their growth can be "stopped" i always see people with tiny cacti but idk if all of them just stay tiny or if you have to make them be tiny...im sorry i dont speak english very good 😅
I have some cactus leaves I'm trying to propagate, the original plant wasn't doing well, it was in a pack and got damaged when I took it out, but they haven't grown! Not sure if I'm doing something wrong...
Will the baby sprouts still grow if its been removed from its mother leaf? I fear that I've moved it to its own pot too soon. I placed the mother leaf closely to the baby. The mother leaf was beginning to dry a little.😢😖
Just visiting my aunt's house last week after 2 years. And she has tens of this succulent plants on her veranda and the falling leaves with babies attached laying around

I’ve been trying to save my alone for years now (they’ve held on for so long, the poor dear, but they just keep getting smaller as they lose one leaf after the other), and no matter what I do, I couldn’t get them to sprout roots…
I don’t take the old leaves off nor do I let them dry out because that one big leaf is doing more photosynthesis than all the other smaller ones combined
i started i think early 2023? maybe April or May, and I started noticing some very tiny growth happening in the fall, and now I have a baby succulent in 2024!! still a tiny baby but it's at least its own being vs being a little rosette attached to a leaf still :) but i also dont have a grow light, i have a bad window that only gets sun in the morning for a bit.
I want to grow plants in my office at work but it has no window do I just get grow lights or are fluorescent lights enough wavelengths of light? Idk to be honest? I took biology but it never said what lights to use to grow plants at work? Asking for advice from others.
