@@officialmediamike quite fitting considering that Gordon is a A0 express engine the fictional basis for the A3s which Makes him and Flying Scotsman brothers.
I've seen this video before, and I loved it so much. That one day this video was deleted, which I thought was a really big disappointment. But now it's back on youtube, because this video deserves to live on forever on UA-cam. So everybody can be able to hear an interview by the Rev W Awdry, the original author and creator of Thomas the Tank Engine and all of his friends from the island of sodor. And for other Thomas fans that would make Thomas the Tank Engine documentaries, they'll be able to use this video as part of their Thomas documentary. This video should remain on UA-cam, and forever live on. To be seen over and over again on UA-cam
I knew I had something in common with this author and wonderful person known as Rev. Awdry... Our fascination in trains seems to be about as equal as our personality all though I'm 35 and a Half now... I used to stop my parents in their errands for trains constantly and they grew to appreciate trains as much as me. Every theme park we visited we rode on the train. Every single theme park with a STEAM 🚂 ENGINE was on our list except Disney and for only one reason we were fascinated with Mountains everywhere as well. We were tired of living on the coast.
I actually own the vhs of this documentary of flying Scotsman with this interview included. I watched it all the time as a kid and it’s what got me into flying Scotsman
@@oldwarriorproductions8411 If you can do it and it not be illegal, please find a way to digitize the tape’s contents and upload it here to TubeYou. There’s definitely people, me included, that would like to see both the full version of this interview and just the entire tape in general.
I find i hard to believe a vicar could find time to write all those stories with all the sermons and services he would have to do, maybe the vicar's of the 50's and 60's wasn't as busy as they are today.
PLEASE FIND IT FOR US THOMAS FANS WHO ARE NOW GROWN UPS AND TO REMEMBER OUR CHILD HOOD OF THE ORIGINAL SORT. WHEN THE SCRIPT AND THE AUDIO WAS CLEAN AND PERFECT. THERE ARE SOME IMPRESSIVE NEW RENDITIONS OF THE ORIGINALS. I'LL HAVE TO ROUTE THOSE TO THIS PAGE SOMEHOW.
Did you know that Awdry knew the Flying Scotsman's first owner, Alan Pegler?
I didn't! That's really cool! Thanks.
@@officialmediamike No problem.

This is taken from 4472, Flying Scotsman from 1968. The whole programme is on BBC Iplayer
The video quality looks fantastic considering it’s from 1968
There should be website for all of Thomas & Friends content that are yet to be found called "Awdry's archive".
I'll get on it
