I was not too keen on watching a cooking related episode. But Ming is so good at what he has to say. It was a treat to watch this new series' episode 👍
More storage tips please! So much food is wasted and thrown away from poor storing. Doesn't help we have to battle the humidity here. Also, would love to know how we can adjust baking recipes with the humidity. Thanks! Looking forward to more episodes.
a really useful series i'd come back to watch each time! love how Ming presents himself and articulates the information so well, remains natural in front of the camera and being so knowledgeable in his field of interest!
Can you guys do ‘essential cooking utensils’ like pots and pans and stuff next
Hi there, our upcoming episodes will cover essential utensils, tools and kitchen equipment!
Mind reader bro

Love this series! Looking forward to gaining more knowledge out of this!!!
Oo new series!
And I learnt about prups! 😀
And the broken tongue!😅😅i never knew it exists
Ming's video presentation gave me a sense of awareness on what ingredients are essential in a kitchen setting. Furthermore, it's important to learn how to store food items by organizing them in the proper manner. I am looking forward for more videos because I am currently working as a Pantry Cook at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Sacramento, CA
I've been looking for a video like this for YEARS. Thank you click network
I am loving this informational video! It's basic and straightforward. Thanks Click-Network!
Vanilla is so important because u could make cakes with it and cookies and every sweet thing !😊
Just want to share, another essential in my kitchen is cooking wine and rice wine. I’m live in Chinese household so I use them quite often. They good for cooking and marinades, especially for porks and seafoods. And they smell really nice when u cook with them too.
Love how you explain differences and uses of similiar ingredients.
I've learned so much from the first episode and I've been watching so many cooking stuff recently! This couldn't have come at a better time! 💖
Love this series! Have been cooking so much more over the lockdown and this feels like a good intro to more elevated cooking

That was really interesting. I'm a kitchen novice so this was good for me.
Can share more about the uses of extra virgin olive oil?
Basic but relevant in all kitchen
Quick breakfast recipes please😊
I have a question What is better oil or butter? And which on is healthier?
In my country here are two essential ingredients: red paprika, and sour cream. You can't imagine Hungarian cuisine without them.
I was with you till mayo lol good video for thinking about essentials though
I would like to know more about the oils please. For example I have found out recently that coconut oil is not healthy to eat (suitable more as a part of a skincare routine for example but not much for eating as it includes lots of unhealthy fatty acids). I would like to know which oils are suitable even after being heated (as it was mentioned that the olive oil isn´t) and which are better just for salads.
To me sunflower oil is the best for cooking at high heat. Its smoke point is really high, neutral flavor and pretty cheap :) Another interesting Oil to look at is Pumpkin seed Oil. Its supposed to be healthy and its also a flavorful rollercoaster
Not true at all, coconut oil IS one of the healthiest to eat and vegetable oils the worst.
@@zoneinfinite i though that as well, but I am studying medicine and part of my course was biochemistry lessons, where the professor was explaining to us, that coconut oil is not as healthy as some companies are advertising. I was surprised too, but he is a capacity in his field and i trust what he was saying, because he even explained why. I mean not trying to convince anyone as everybody has their beliefs, just saying what i encoutnered. Since that time i use the coconut oil just as part of my cosmetic routine and not for eating. Some vegetable oils are unhealthy as well, on that i agree. Thats why i asked about chapter about oils, would be interested to know more
Thanks for your comments guys!
In general, flavourful oils do poorly at high heat cooking. The same compounds that give you flavour and smell will burn off and not survive at higher temperatures. At best you'll have wasted more expensive oils, and at worst you may find off-flavours and even bitterness.
Refined oils have these compounds removed, and the remaining oils are very neutral in flavour. They will also stand up well to high heat cooking, as their smoke points increase (this is the temperature at which compounds in the oil start to burn or turn into smoke).
As for the wisdom regarding the various types of saturated, unsaturated, omega and plant/animal based oils - I find that every couple of years new studies appear and our opinions change. Butter, for example is now seen as more natural and 'better' today, whilst margarine is regarded as 'unhealthy' because of its heavy processing. Take everything in moderation!
no one's gonna say how cute he is i willl AHHAHA
This is ataSssss
Useful tips. Thanks Chef Ming. Seeing yr tongue crack so badly you need to see chinese sin seh.
Can you teach us basic knowledge about storing food in fridge
One prup.. Two prups 😂😂😂
i love a non-problematic host!
pleasantly surprised
so cool😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
What should be stored in the fridge and what shouldn’t???
oo what mayo was that?
Thats all the essential? I believe there are few more essential ingredients than those.
I LOVE mayonnaise, but I dint consider it essential as I only use it for making sandwiches or rarely as a dip for fried foods.
Agree.
It’s essential in my household, we make sandwiches often :)
Imagine getting a heart from click network
💔🔫😣
Please bring back budget barbie. I miss her 😤🥺
Is ninja foodie good investment pot compare to normal instant pot
Great tips but... where got asian household without onions one?
Shallots!
Have to improve my cooking skills
Do not cook with extra virgin olive oil?! Italians do it all the time and it’s delicious.
hey chef we have the same geographical tongue😂
What about vinegar?
How do you make camel soup?
guessing that's kewpie mayo?? i prefer that over conventional mayo that are sold in the United States~
Yep I recognise that as kewpie mayo.
Yummy to eyes🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Please show us how to substitute alcohol in cooking for people who cannot take alcohol !
The alcohol burns off. If you are intolerant it will not be an issue. But you can usually use a vinegar instead :)
put a teaspoon of sesame oil on any kind of instant ramen
No cooking with olive oil?? Explain that to the Italians...lol
his talking about extra virgin olive oil, most of the time it is used to flavour things instead of being used to cook with, like how you can dip some bread into a puddling of olive oil and just eat it, not to say you can't cook with it but it's mainly used for its flavour
ye, we use it to cook dishes and to finish them off, but you just can’t use it with high heat and for frying
@@Mangosupers you’re still wrong. It can certainly be used for cooking.. it’s not like you’re deep frying something with it.
What the...!? Pre-cut garlic??? That exists?! O.O
Just yesterday I wondered why my mom doesnt use extra virgin olive oil in her cooking anymore. Now I know
oh his tongue is like Keith's from the try guys. he must like fried foods heheh
But why do I see many italians who teaches authentic italian recipes ask for extra virgin olive oil?
Because it’s perfectly fine to use, unless you’re deep frying of course.
@@kiagol159 I know. It was a rhetorical question. See 6:56 , the chef said should not cook with it. As with many cooks I know and they learn in cooking school, never to cook with it. Many Italian chef cooks with it.
Tongue of God
