All these riders are taking a relatively inefficient line - zig zagging across the road centerlines unnecessarily. The road is so wide... all the straights are so wide that you could ride this speed (30 MPH) just from one street centerline to the next centerline to the nextcenter line, etc. (apex at the curb corner, of course), and you'd ride much less distance than with all this zig zagging back and forth across the centerline. I've often experienced this in racing, when the course is very wide and roomy. I think riders are just lazy (mentally or something), where they will ride the full width of a "corner" when it is not necessary. Cornering tighter (i.e. coming from just the centerline in these turns, and then not going across the centerline on the exit), might slightly increase "scrubbing" friction losses on the tire / road contact patch (?maybe?), but I can't imagine those losses would be as substantial as simply the lost distance that is generated by the wide weaving back and forth. Each of these corners, taking these wide lines, you lose one or two bike lengths of distance, compared to a tighter line; I'm guessing that would add up to 50 ft. per lap. Just my thinking, curious your opinion.

Good video, but could've done without the yawning in the commentary...
