    Great video! I just replaced a deck belt for my neighbor and wasn't sure what that little arm was for. His was not broken, but I was still curious about why it was there. It looked like a manual engagement arm to me, but I knew that could not be what it was designed for. Now, I know, and you, my friend, have a new subscriber! 😃👍

    Unbelievable!!!!! NOW I know why my belt keeps coming off! I actually found the broken shaft on my mower deck weeks ago, but had no idea what it was from. So - part is ordered, but!... I was able to make my own from a ½ inch piece of copper pipe - flattened one end, cut and folded and bent to make the tab, drilled a hole, bent the piece to the correct angle and installed ....success! I am beyond happy. Thanks so much for sharing your own "idiot" moment with the world! You have made my summer!

    Thanks for this. I was trying to put the idler guide up in the bracket also. Now I'm out to put it together properly!

    When I reinstalled the pulley with the arm, I mistakenly put it with the arm above the horizontal bar. It worked for a bit, then the belt jumped off (luckily not breaking). When I realized what I had done and put it below the horizontal bar, everything worked fine. Wish I had seen this video first so that I might have noticed that the arm was in the wrong place.

    Thanks I just replaced my belt and I know what to look for if my ex was missing parts, they was there. Took about 20 minutes to fix, a lawnmower shop would have cost me a lot…that belt was $50 I could have got one on Amazon for $10: but they had bad reviews….thanks …👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

      @@petedymond All other videos show it comes in from underneath. I see it shows the hook facing down in the parts list - but the actual installation should be the other way round. I actually have the CC30H which is almost identical and it definitely makes a note that you do not install it as you have shown.

    Great update to the previous video regarding the idler pulley retainer bolt. I too had a broken idler rod, and have replaced it. Still have a clanking noise, though, when the belt is engaged. I'll try inspecting the belt itself to see if it has been damaged.

    • @petedymond
      @petedymond  6 місяців тому

      So your blade spins even after you move the lever to disengage position? Hard to imagine how that's possible.
      The pulley bracket would have to stick in the engage position

    • @renedanos8877
      @renedanos8877 6 місяців тому

    I made the mistake of installing the idler height adjustment bar on top of the that bar instead below it. The belt would come off every time I adjusted it to the high position.

      @@petedymond I don't have roll pin on the tensioner pulley, I should of taken pictures of it all but being an arrogant auto mechanic I ripped into and now I'm Lost, the schematic shows it laid out like your's, but mines not like that, I have One of those extended warranties from Sears, and I think the Guy that worked on it retrofitted it, because the belt is longer than the one it calls for, I'm stuck. 🙁

    • @petedymond

      @@petedymond Mr. Dymond I had a problem with surging that plagued me for 9 months replaced the carb and in a few months the problem it was back again my first incentive was to eliminate the fuel solenoid valve and install a fuel shut off valve. I didn't follow my instincts and I should have I went back and removed the fuel solenoid plugged the port capped the wires installed a fuel shutoff valve and no more problems .When I finish with the mower I turn the fuel shutoff to the off position and run the fuel out from the fuel shutoff valve including any remaining fuel in the carb to insure no ethanol deposits remain after prolonged times of unuse hope this is good info for you.

      I've heard of deleting the solenoid. I'll have to try that...next video!
