I hate using the clutch to pop wheelies. I just get her ready right on the edge of the band. then I know once I crack the throttle she's going to come up clean. just got to make sure you are in the right gear
I learned in 2 gear first gear to short and has a lot of tourqe go in second and slow it down it much easier remember “back brake” follow me on Instagram B_murdda if you have any questions
Pop clutch put all your waight at the back and just give it throttle and let the clutch out and pull at the same time and just twist the throttle then you can start riding wheelies for a mile that's all you gotta do
Cover rear brake and you should be able to just pull up and give it throttle instead of clutch if you keep it just between no powerband and no powerband
@@copperhead3505 use first super slow. Tap the front break to compress suspension and release the clutch and pop it. Keep it up passed the ballence point and let it put you on your ass it won't hurt you... Maybe a fender lol but key is to keep your feet on the pegs no way of saving it once that right foot comes off
Just go rly slow at rolling speed in 1st gear then hold in your clutch and rev once or twice while holding in the clutch then you have to simultaneously release the clutch quick and twist the throttle about halfway or more, that’s how I learned
@Eikebeikebolle me too, I went to the bike shop for the kickstarter lever since they don't make any parts for the 80's anymore since it had the wrong one on the bike and I gave the guy my Vin number and said it's a 97, so it's a yz80 so hard to find a kickstarter lever and the 85s started around 02 the levers are different from them tho.
Why take your foot off. Try to roll on til you get in the the power and hit it when it come up shift no clutch to second then third. 1st too jumpy and once you get to third you’ll have more play in the throttle. You wasn’t the bars at least eye level.
Perfect way to explain it i was gone say roll into it until you hear the powerband kick in pop it up shift (may have to hit back brake depending on how far back you are at this point) then from there work on slowing it down by dropping back some that takes time but keep at it
So what I did was hit the powerband in 1first gear then shift into 2 and if it’s going good shits into 3 it was a lot easier then using the clutch because yz85 have no bottom end power

That power band kicks in fast when trying to wheelie. I want a yz 85 but I’m saving for it
They always kick fast when I moved to my 85 I about 💩 my pants
Been there and done that twice lol. Nice video tho. The yz85 is a powerhouse.
Aint that the truth
Yes sirrr
that was the softest loop ever
Please make a tutorial on how you learned to do it

@@firewall2.07 well it’s something that doesn’t really happen, maybe when your learning but once you get used to it your balance comes automatically
Makes alot of sense thanks guy

Your on some lemon shit there buddy :D
lol tell me about it but the rear shock was blown in my defense
Ok I learned how to wheelie my 85
@@kapattaja5230 when you learn clutch is better, you can slow it down easier like that
Done this in 2nd and had way too much time to hit the brake
Cover rear brake and you should be able to just pull up and give it throttle instead of clutch if you keep it just between no powerband and no powerband
If you try to wheelie with just throttle you will always be in the power and not mater what
1:23 was your balance point if you kept giving it gas and covered the brake you would’ve gotten it right there
brother use one finger for the clutch trust me
You should heat the rear break peg and bend it out a bit to help and keep your foot on the brake
I zip tied a stick on it after it no joke😂

85s are the worst with such a small tire and gutless power then mental power all of a sudden loo
i got a cr85r honda 2004 i dont know how to wheelie it
I got a yz85 2020 and am trying to figure how to wheelie it

so 1st gear is better tham 2nd
It’s a 2 stroke u can’t just hold the throttle and never take your foot off that back brake
I had to give it some gas cuz my rear shock was blown😂
I do all the time... when you get good enough
you're sitting too far up
I have the same bike and it’s easier if u hit the power band pull the clutch give it some gas and then let go
