Glad the city treated you well! Of course it doesn't grab the headlines like the East Coast cities, but it offers great quality of life to its residents. Happy travels + hope you have a great stay in Australia
@@AshandKels We are emigrating to Aus in May and we have mainly looked at the East coast to settle, but Adelaide is a great beach side option for a more chilled vibe. There seem to be a few of the smaller coastal cities that have a similar feel.
I’m wondering if this was filmed during our most recent heatwave, with several days of 40C, which would account for not many people being around outside!
I haven't been to Adelaide. It looks beautiful and relaxed and certainly worth a visit. Have you noticed the posher accents? A lovely video. Thank you.
More of an English influence from what I noticed. Definitely more noticeable with certain vowels and pronunciation as well as a distinctive difference in L & R pronunciation. I've always been interested in different regional accents and listening for unique differences becomes a habit.
@@reddog5378 Yes, mostly cashed-up free settlers in South Australia, I believe. It's interesting that in the UK, for example, there are significant accent differences across small distances. Yet, in Australia, the accent is (mostly) homogenous.
Thank you for doing a video on my hometown. I've been away for a year and I miss the place. It's one of the most beautiful places on earth. The Eyre Peninsula is amazing. Watching the sunset over Adelaide Oval while watching the great Adelaide Crows has to be seen to be believed.
Lived on a large sheep property on the Eyre Peninsula for some years. Somewhere I would love to get back to and actually explore the place. Loved it. Also did work near Minlanton(?) on the York Peninsula, sunrise over Gulf St Vincent and sunset over the Spencer Gulf all in one day.
I'm surprised you didn't catch a tram down to Glenelg, which is kinda the main beach. Also, the Botanical gardens are nice, and the surrounding hills. Should go to Mount Lofty in the hills, and the Mount Lofty botanical gardens. Also the coastline to the south is pretty good.
That part of the state library you showed (the Mortlock Library) has only been open to the public for about 5 years. The football stadium grandstand is also less than 10 years old. The actual oval has always been there, but the surrounding grandstand is relatively new. I haven’t been there yet. A popular beach to visit is Glenelg. It is probably the most trendy and busiest beach to visit.
Jetty Rd Glenelg is awesome and the jetty and beach. Also Brighton jetty. Walk around Glenelg streets . Adelaide botanic Gardens and zoo is a must see.
Many thanks for your update. Never been to Adelaidem just passed by. Have a good time and take care of the sun. Not sure even 50+ will help, but they have very good sunburn repellents as well. Stay healthy.
I loved Adelaide, big enough to have lots to do but small enough not be "big city" hectic. The nature reserve up on Mount Lofty is a defo must do if you guys can, the rock wallabies are so cute 🥰
Yes Adelaide has lovely day trips around it. Three wine districts north east and south, the Hills, Port Victor, Kangaroo Island, three peninsulas, Flinders ranges.
Welcome to the best city on Oz....29 degrees tomoerow. Go to Victor Harbour or the Adelaide Hills where it's 3 degrees cooler. Barossa Valley is beautiful too!
Hi guys. Welcome to my stomping ground and the best place in Australia. You'll have to visit Cleland wildlife park and pat the "wild" animals. Catch a Fringe show while youre here.
I visited Adelaide a few years ago but unfortunately it was only only a guided tour off the Indian Pacific Train across Australia, what i saw was beautiful and i fully intend to re-visit it at a more leisurely pace, meanwhile i am living it again vicariously in the delightful company of you two, enjoy yourselves and am looking forward to seeing the places you visit.By the way i am hoping to walk the The Great Ocean coastal path next time i visit,it,s supposed to be a beautiful hike.
Adelaide is a different vibe to the much bigger cities of Melbourne and Sydney. It has more of a quiet, big country town feel. Adelaide and Melbourne are more cerebral than Sydney. The cricket and AFL/footy stadiums are huge due to the size of the ovals needed for both games.

@@AshandKels Brisbane was where I "met" my first wild Possum! Roma Street Parkland is a great evening stroll with the lit up fountains and waterfalls. And of course Australia Zoo is a must.
@@stratbutcher Possums... stay in any Australian house anywhere that has trees nearby. Lie awake at night with the curtains open. You'll hear them, you'll see them, you'll come to bloody hate them.
Looks like you had a typical snake encounter in the park lands, most people end up thinking was that a snake or not. If you leave them alone they almost always leave you alone with most people being bitten when the snake feels threatened. The snake was almost certainly a brown snake or less likely a red bellied black snake both potentially deadly but you are a lot more likely to die from a bee sting than a snake bite in Adelaide. If you are still in Adelaide and looking for nice views try Mount Lofty, (nice view of the whole city) or Morialta Falls if you want to take a scenic walk. Hope you enjoy your time in Adelaide.
Thank you so much! I don’t think we’ll be settling down anywhere just yet, we have so much of the world we want to see! But who knows what the future holds ☺️
Best city in Australia! 😄 we're not biased at all.
Thanks for showing us around! It's our turn to show you around Wales when you're in the UK! 🥰
Only drawback is that oven like dry heat, I 'survived' six summers there and that was enough for this humidity lover.
@@reddog5378 Hahah you're right about that. We love the dry heat and really struggle in humidity haha
@@reddog5378 Just thank God you never visited in winter!
Ash and Kels, if you get a chance you should visit the Botanical Gardens. Just off North Tce in the city. A beautiful spot
Exquisite city. Has it all no fuss! 😍
Definitely, we loved it!
Finally a beautiful sunset. The time laps came out great.
I know, we were so glad we managed to get a good one in Adelaide 😍 thank you!
have great festivals in Adelaide
We’ve heard, unfortunately we weren’t there when there was a festival on! Maybe next time we’ll catch one ☺️

I’ve heard Adelaide described as sleepy and it looks so quiet in and around the city….amazing
It’s a good way to describe it, very relaxed compared to other cities we’ve visited in Australia ☺️

Sun setting over the sea is the best.
Always!!
That art gallery has some surprisingly famous classics in it. Honorius feeding his pigeons for one.

Glad you liked our beautiful city come again fyi Henley and grange are the best beaches ❤❤
Yep Henley square for a nice feed and some good coffee .
The 'snake' you saw by the Torrens was probably an Eastern Water Skink!
We weren’t prepared to hang around and have a look 😅
I hope you were here during the Adelaide Fringe.
Sadly we weren’t!!

@Michael Rogers also why the MCG is the largest capacity cricket stadium in the world, to cater for AFL crowds as well as cricket.
All the wineries are a must do

You bolted when you saw a snake. 😂 Me I would of stayed and had a closer look. 😜
If it didn’t come out of the bush we probably would have had a look but it made us jump and I wasn’t ready to be bitten on the ankles 😂😂
