I fish out of 1998 Ranger Sport R80, 17' 10'' with 175 mercury on it. I called Ranger one time to ask about the fuel capacity and talked to an older gentleman on the phone who was there when they made these boats. He told me that I had the only 17 footer that they made that was rated for a 175. In the winter time with just me in it with a half tank of gas I can get 63 mph out of it. But I don't run it that hard most of the time.

I have a 17ft mcfast monark, my wife and I love it. We fish at night for crappie and hybrid bass. We also have a 18ft pontoon. Glad everyone was ok in the boating accident. I met you on the trail at a gas station. We both had our boats behind the truck. Had a conversation about the Ozarks and the bite. I had no idea I'd be watching you out there living the dream, but I knew instantly you had passion. It's been fun to watch you succeed.

I've ALWAYS liked James MF Watson , but I like him even more now. I knew some of his history but not all mentioned here. It blows my mind that he walked away from a VERY LUCRATIVE real estate business to pursue a fishing career. I see how he could afford paying for it out of his pocket in the beginning now. WOW! GREAT INTERVIEW and perhaps your best one yet.

It’s always about having fun Whether tournaments or just fishing because fishing is something we love deeply and if you can’t have fun when your fishing weather in a tournament or just with friends then it would just suck, when it becomes not fun is when it becomes work and that turns into something that you don’t like to do then you quit. 😒
It’s the fun that gives you the drive, the more fun you have the more drive you get to increase your success.
There’s no limit at what you can do when your having fun in what you love to do. 👊

Bro I had the same boat as my first I think it was a 1976 or 1985 can’t remember monarc McFast with a 85 evenrude it was green sparkle and white when we bought it was full of water and barley floating and the trailer was barley able to hold it because it had plywood on the bottom sitting on the rotten runners it didn’t run and had to winch it on the trailer and drive it 45 min home over a big bridge we fixed like it was brand new trailer and all polished the boat out and it sucked like he said it was wide and a piece of crap set up we rewired everything boat and trailer we changed everything to new except the motor got that running good and we come to regret the only other thing we didn’t change was the single axle put new bearings and rims and tires new carpet restored it to all original and we were driving home one night from taking it to a car wash on a back road late at night out in the country and all of a sudden we felt somthing towing it looked in the mirrors and the axle broke the spring bolts and one side whipped over to the other side with the tire still on the hub and was stuck towards the back dragging it and the side it came off the frame was dragging the ground sparks flying everywhere that’s all we saw was the sparks and the trailer end of flipping with the boat on it and twisted the tong because it was locked on the ball had to have a wrecker come get it and bring it to our house and we sold it for 2,500 the boat wasn’t messed up just needed a new hitch and axle setup and we bought the boat for 300 dollars

I live 20 minutes from center hill fish there every weekend actually have a tournament this coming Saturday night there never knew there were any pro tournaments there, I love tournament fishing its my passion and just all around gives me thar amazing feeling on blast off

Man my dad had one similar to that I don't remember the model of it but spent a lot of time in it and they thing would fly with pro V 150 Yamaha on it. Keep up the great work man. And Watson you got one slick set up on that boat and hummer.
Bill Taylor was a great man I sure enjoyed my time with him at Chickaumauga when I worked with the camera crew.

Ranger has never been a rocket on the water😂....they felt like riding over rocks, rough riding boats.
My grandpa has almost that exact same boat not with the crazy set up that Mr. worldwide has but is a beautiful boat only problem is it’s a fish and ski but is still a great fishing boat. I love to see these old boats still out here just with newer electronics and motors to show that just because the boat is old doesn’t mean that it still isn’t great.

My 1st boat was also a Monarch McFast 15 that I still have! It also have the Johnson Javelin that still runs like a top. I restored it once before I bought my Skeeter but have plans to fix it up again and sell it to someone that will use it.
