I totally get it but I realised this is the "go for the throat" approach that I am lacking in my games. Technically though it required just one more hit by that army to kill it, hellbats do well against broodings and leaving the Zerg with just lings feels much safer. That being said not sure thermy new there was no roach warren as well that might change things - it is probably better to make Zerg waste gas into banelings, do splits and win rather than killing the baneling nest and force roaches out... However, it's Rattata, not a bronze league player, if he had roach warren, he would've used it.
You’re weird. The little fckr shouldn’t be anywhere near screens. The sounds and sights overwhelm it’s senses for sure. Very bad parenting. What does the father say about this?
I like pulling your drones and not retreating from 6 minutes. That suits the spirit of the challenge and still allows you limited reinforcements for your final push.
You should read some of the pushback I got from people. I've been posting it so many times since this challenge started. But when Marc suggests it, everyone is suddenly on board 😄
Definitely think pulling all the workers at 6 minutes is a good call, it makes it more epic and forces the final fight. Can you also drop mules in the enemy base when you are all-inning, or are they always used up?
The orbital commands continue accumulating energy if that's what you're asking. Mules don't do damage so they would only be used for repairs and it's traditionally seen as a way to taunt your opponent so uThermal probably wouldn't do it.
@@kaiser2261 Oh I thought at the end of one of the games the enemy was trying to use them to block him off or something so maybe they can be human shields, kinda like all the workers.
If I'm not mistaken, scvs work way better as meat shields because they have an attack. When you a-move the workers, they count as attacking units and If the enemy units are on a-move, they will target the workers. But as you can't a-move mules, the ai will target them last.
I was watching your video from 4 months ago and i must say, you're clearly evolving - more entertaining, your charisma goes through way better. Keep it up, love your videos.
Long time viewer, first time commenter. Just wanna say I f*cking love these challenges, especially proxy planetary. Been doing proxy Thor drops for years, as well as a plethora of other cheeses as random.
Honorable ebay block which requires a worker vs the dishonest and low pylon/refinery block where you only have to walk past 😛 I kid, I kid. Was thinking the same thing about the ebay block when I heard him disparage protoss blocks haha
Would you be interested in something like a "Random Unit Challenge"? Before each game, you spin some sort of (online javascript) wheel, to choose like 3 or 4 units at random & then those are the units you have to play the game with. There are a few interesting variations you could go with, too... you could do just random out of all units. Or maybe 1 random unit out of each building. Or, maybe something like: you have to pick 1 unit randomly, then you get to choose (or maybe veto) 1 unit, then you pick the last 1 or 2 randomly. Anyway, really loving your content! :) Please keep it coming.
I watched one of your replays on winterstarcraft channel. That means u are a pro now I’m pretty sure and he even complimented your ability to talk and play at the same time in non native language
After seeing the success of the 6 minutes rule. I wonder what other aplications of this rule could have. Looking forward on aplying it on dropped food against of the meta 5 second rule. Let me know if you are interested in me sharing the results.
Next challenge series, the opposite of Speedrunning SC2: Slowwalking SC2! Play random, expand first and have double upgrades (attack and armor of any kind) going by 6 minutes and continue upgrades throughout the game. That would be a far harder challenge to get GM with than Speedrunning SC2...
I absolutely love seeing you take down high-MMR player with these ridiculous cheeses that they think they got away from xD 14:00: This Lib positioning has triggered me, Bro. Somehow managing to have range on nothing while hovering in just the right spot to make it easy to get sniped by Marines ={}
Thanks for the content, love seeing how high you can get. For this level of challenge, I'd like it if you practiced offstream on a different account e.g. your canon rushes on various maps.
Taking viewers suggestions and implementing them on UA-cam is like a new experience of virtual reality where I feel like I something to do with the results 🤜🤛
mark, if you studied DT prism drops just for your PvP speedrunning match ups i bet you could min max the shit out of it and literally clap people left and right. Your micro is already legendary so if you had prism / DT that would be sick to see.
I was afraid that pulling your workers would cause you to lose but it's the exact opposite!! Maybe don't need to do it every game but it's pretty hilarious and awesome
Hi uThermal! Have you ever tried the afk strategy? you let your main go and farm as if you are afk after producing only 1 max 2 SCVs to replace the ones you send away while you start a complete new base on another side of the map.
Spicy close games! In that last one the baneling nest was on red hp, couldn't believe you left it alive haha. All that to flex some more of your splitties? 😁
Honestly seeing how 'Soon' treated you he knew your challenge and that just makes me think you should not pull the scvs. I think continued attack is one attack if the initial attack is still in progress. I love seeing you play at your best while playing the challenge.
This makes me think he can do a challenge where he plays terran but it’s more similar to a Zerg playstyle. I.e. tons of expos, tons of barracks/buildings to spawn units, high sc2 count etc.
Pulling SCVs is the best rule. Leads to an epic last battle, guarantees that nothing could be considered 'cheating'. Is it super hard vs terran? You'll have to adapt!
You often mention what the effects of telling them your race might be, but what about the effects of telling them your race when your name is "DontTrustMe"?
not killing the baneling nest at 22:05 raised my blood pressure
good..thought I was the only one, kept thinking he had a chance to lose cause of it
Yeah, that was like watching horror movie...
He also let the spore live which then killed his medivac, no more healing.
He just does the splitties instead

Add the win/loss counter back!!! Fun.
I’ve been watching these videos exclusively feeding my new born at this point she is gonna associate Marc as her father.
Sing her some songs instead 😛
Haha, my 7yo just crawled into bed with me and requested starcraft. I pulled up hero vs dark and they asked to change it to uthermal :):):)
Wondering how my kids would turn out. Probably able to calculate odds on a straight or a flush
LOL 😂😂😂
You’re weird. The little fckr shouldn’t be anywhere near screens. The sounds and sights overwhelm it’s senses for sure. Very bad parenting. What does the father say about this?
You can tell Marc still genuinely enjoys sc2 after all these years. So cool to see him blowing up on UA-cam after all these years being a pro👍
It's just great content.

as a big ghost to gm and penguin brothers fan, that ghost-hellbat push was so satisfying to watch

In the immortal words of Day[9] - When Behind, Dark Shrine
Your gameplay - casting combo is quite incredibly effective. Makes me wants to play SC2 again.

The hints at the bottom of the screen will often clue you into what race random is going to give you. Thanks for the great content Marc!
"i dont like this blocking nonsense" says the guy who blocks with engineering bay
The guy who even did a video showing several tricks for making ebay blocking more successful and effective

15:39 "has this happend before? maybe in bronze league 9 years ago" 😂
I think the Terran in the second game is going to uninstall the game after that loss.. brutal
Love the worker pull.
ah yes, the unstoppable "hellion, reaper, marine, tank, liberator, raven, viking with the boys" push.
A well rounded army. Makes sense it won.
Those were amazing games! well played sir
Love seeing another Thermy supporter!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I get so much joy from this series.
I love that you modify the 6 min rule depending on the scenario. Either way, sustaining the attack or pulling SCVs at 6min is certainly an all in.
such a great video! Would love to see you show your win/loss counter and also an mmr counter (with an update after the last game)

Miracle Marc back with the AAA content for the masses. UThermal, undefeated, undisputed, people's Champ.

Was he going to go for my dark shrine anyway?
Or just because he saw my gateway?

I've been seeing some of uThermal's videos and i feel i can't go on without asking this question: are uThermal and Simon Pegg the same person?
Uthermal you thinking about that 2v2 league maybe ? :) Clem and uthermal vs the world Pog
you could also fly buildings at 5:50 which might eat up some of the opponents APM and distract them
DontTrustMe: I'm terran

Yeah the SCV pull is amazing, also drop mules in there too, for repair or just for meat bags
The worker pool seems to be helping more than hurting.

Dude do you play any modded sc games like direct strike ?
Another rule could be no more production buildings after 6:00
That last one was so dirty I have to uninstall sc2
the number of bars in that guy's name. isn't that the same guy that threatened MaNa during his zealots challenge because he couldn't handle the loss?
Great gaming man !! :)
I want to see an infester take over a probe and then transition from zerg to protos, then win
16:07 ima tell him im terran... name: DontTrustMe LOLLL
luv the scv pull
16:02 think he believed you? 🤣
Does anyone else get annoyed when pros tell a worker with a mineral in hand to go get gas or to go attack. I'm like nooo that's wasted minerals... 😂

protoss with gas stealing pylon blocking xD

Was asking myself when the splitties would come..they came
I don't even play and yet I get stressed! 😟Great content silly goose!
you didn't kill the banelings nest it had 1 hp :))
what a game against ratata
If you were the opponent, and a player named "Don't Trust Me" tells you their race, would you actually believe them?
I would have liked to see a worker pull for the last seconds of the first PvP game
Pulling SCVs shouldn't be considered a rule, that is just a way of using your units. Keep using that whenever you feel like it.
I'm the only one whose been saying to pull the scvs like 10 times. 🤣 Glad it worked!
