This software needs at least an auto loop function, to avoid wasting time finding the zero crossing point of the sample. The old Digidesign SoundDesigner did it…
So, in terms of authoring individual samples, and doing looping you're best served by using a full audio editor or specialized sample authoring solution. The Sample Builder is really for authoring the multisamples and banks to be transferred to wavestate (though it has some nice bells and whistles like the loop point adjustment feature and the automatic bit-depth conversion). I wouldn't be surprised if Sample Builder grows more advanced features in future, but it's extremely solid for an initial release.
They can't even make 64bit Mac support for Korg Krome editor. And let's not discuss archaic functions of Korg Krome. If I ever buy keyboard it only will be Roland. Korg lives in last century
I loved your tutorial and it made sending samples to the WS so simple However Loading samples in WS Mission failure 😣 It only retains the last bank sent So if i send four separate banks one after the other the WS only retains the last. WHY ? I thought I could send my as many samples in and use them like how other authors have loaded theirs. What wrong am I doing Pls assist Thanks
is it possible to edit samples which came inside the synth? Ive been searching for a way to make a sample shorter, but didn't find any solutions so far.. Would be glad if anybody has anything to say about that..
Wavebuilder (all versions) don't work with Windows 10, it crash on startup, I test many configurations without effects The editor works well. Where does the problem come from ?
Can the Wavestate and Modwave (native) with these multisamples make use of crossfades at the loop start/end and pingpong the loop instead of jumping from end to start? You know, basic modern features ;-)

Works so far but I can't use the samples for a wave sequence cause only the 1st sample of a bank is available in my Wavestate. Do I have to save a bank for every single sample separately?
Nice intro. Would be amazing to copy and paste a already loaded sample in the keyzone. That makes sense if I have one sample that I want to copy over the whole keyboard and set the original key to each key, as the samples get not just pitched and not automatically timestretched over the octaves.
Great video! Do you hear any pitch shifting artifacts while playing your own samples on a wavestate?? I usually have this isssue when loading my samples into a vst playing my samples chromatically.
No, but you can upgrade to the 2.0 software with all the benefits. The only hardware difference is the increased polyphony (rumors were they upgraded the Pi in the MK2).
KORG could you Please create a Sample Builder and Sample Converter for KORG KROME EX that is capable of convert any Kontakt NKI versions into KMP ? Please release a new KROME EX OS Update for users be able to use KSC and KMP files instead META.IMG. Thank you very much !

From what I remember they didn't fixed the bulk sample upload into the editor if that was your interest, I spoke with developer and he promised will do never happened, but better you check the last version of the editor, maybe maybe
let me know in how many years you'll be able to transfer 2000stereo/4000mono samples into the synth if you have to do all these steps? (in the case i want to move single shots samples into the synth and no multi samples). It was so easy to have an option like this as well, drag all the samples to the bank and hit transfer and thats it (keeping the name of the original sample). Always developers lose the idea about the shortcuts, musicians don't have time to lose it on technical processes, they just want to use that time making music

Yeah i noticed after I commented there where still issues but I read something on it earlier, you have to go to device manager and turn on the wavestate, then update the drivers. Don't know exactly anymore but something like that.
I hear ya. Updating the firmware was a nightmare, as was installing the editor/librarian. Try following the instructions step by step, but where it tells you to use RNDIS, use NCM instead. (or vice versa) After many failures, that's what finally worked for me. Also, if you're using Windows 10, download & try the latest firmware, 2.1.0b. If you need any help, let me know.
@@koinpusher I've had so much trouble updating my firmware from 1.0.6 to 2.1.0. I tried on 4 different computers, (1 Win 7, 1 Win 8, and 2 Win 10) I followed the instructions step by step, dozens of times. I emailed Korg & I even took my PC & Wavestate to Geeksquad but they couldn't do it! I was finally able to update to 2.1.0 using the latest firmware, 2.1.0b. (which works on Win 10 & 11) I can use the editor/librarian, but if I turn off the program I must re-update the drivers every time I want to use it! 😖 I have 51 different synths and the Wavestate's software is by far the most fickle of all. I don't understand why Korg didn't just use straight up USB like every other synths out there, instead of "MIDI over USB". They said it's so you can transfer "large files quicker", but that makes no sense considering you can transfer files from a PC to an external hard drive, over USB, at 100+mbs.
I wish this was scalable because it is not useable with a Mac Mini M1 and this old monitor. No problem like this with any other program I have used including Nuendo and Photoshop.
Hello Will someone finally explain in a clear and transparent way how to install this update, including the unfortunate Windows 10, but step by step. Most of us Korg Wavestate users are people who are not professionals. The synthesizer is great, it has tremendous possibilities but, that's the naming of line, line, line, menu, and submenu next. Why is there such a strange way to program notes in sequence, you need to count steps and change transposition by input, there should be a step number to select a note on the keyboard and write, further sonic processing should be a secondary thing. After watching a few Korg videos, I think you bet on too young people trying to create some weird "wild" sounds and think that being an engineer at Korg, they will be introducing their visions of electronic music. regards Jarek
Download and install the updater software You can do this by pressing UTILITY and then SHIFT + < (PAGE -). If your wavestate's firmware version doesn't match, you simply need to go to the wavestate Download page and download the latest version, then update your wavestate.
How about you update KORG KROME editor for Mac 64bits. Looks like Korg is stuck in last century. Perhaps learn from Roland how to make a good modern products
I was wondering why I didn't have the 1.0.6 update. Then I remembered all the problems I was having with windows connecting with your product and ignored that update. Here I am again having the same problems with your gear not compatible with windows. I own the hydrasynth and have zero problems connecting, adding sound and yes NO problems updating. You had a few instruments I was interested in until this very moment. Totally unhappy with your product. They are so many other synths I can spend my money on and not experience physical migraines. Super angry and unhappy
@@skatechatham It's a little more to it. Windows 10 refuses to recognize it. It will erase the driver on occasions too. I update MPC units, hydrasynth, with zero problems. Its something with Korg or the program they use

I'm using Wavelab to create my loops for Wavestate ( & Kontakt / HALion / Tal Sampler ).
So if I really like a Kronos PCM sample like a cathedral organ for instance, I can load that sound into the wavestate?

All samples in the Wavestate are called multi-samples, but if you put just one or a few samples in your multi-samples, you will have artifacts.

Sample Builder is scalable. Select View in the menu bar and set the zoom level to fit your monitor.
Same for the librarian/editor select view and adjust the percent.
