Just picked up an AB jumbo and I am floored.. had my pick of Taylor, Collins, Bourgeois and Martin but I went with this Iris. I am in love with everything about its simplistic beauty. There is not one ounce of flash on it. It is all function and form and elegant in its raw perfection. The sound of it is staggering. It is like the people who built it made the decision that what ever they put on this guitar was only what it needed to sound its absolute best. The finish is matte, the touch of the neck is just the slightest bit rough (which doesn't sound good but it is), the machine heads are vintage 50s style, open screw machine heads. The most impressive thing about it is the weight. The thing weighs nothing but the sound makes u think it weighs 10lbs. This is hands down one of the most amazing acoustics I've ever played and I own it!!!!!

I purchased the IRIS AB from the Camden Store a few weeks ago. I actually went in to buy a very nice J-45 which I had tried a week earlier but second time around somehow it just didn't do it for me. A canny salesman pressed the IRIS DF into my hands and it was like chalk and cheese. In the end I went for the AB because the one I bought had an Adirondack top, which I have always wanted on a guitar. Although the AB is a great for flatpicking, like all four of these guitars it is also great for fingerstyle. In fact these guitars are great all rounders (I tried 'em all and played them in various styles) and should suit all playing styles, imho. One thing not mentioned in detail is the 'open pore' finish, i.e. the wood is not grain filled. This a great way to ensure maximum movement of the wood and therefore tone which you don't get on more traditional gloss finished high end instruments - which may be why the J-45 I tried sounded duller compared to the DF. Finally, I have owned and played several luthier made guitars over the last 40+ years (Fylde, Collings, Lowden, Goodall) and these IRIS guitars easily qualify in that category. If you buy an IRIS you are buying an individually made instrument and not something from a production line. Just put your finger through the sound board and stroke the bracing and you will feel it is finished as smooth the proverbial baby's backside (few guitars have this kind of detail). A sure sign of careful, individual construction. If you are going to spend around £3K on a guitar then you really should try one of these against anything else at the price point. I think you would be pleasantly surprised.

I love my Iris OG (like a Gibson LG-3) and ABe (Gibson J-185). Thanks

I played a bunch of the Iris. They sounded good, but didn't do it for me, especially for the money. I went with another Yairi. Hard to beat for the build quality and the sound. The price is amazing for what you get.

The first photographs show a different model than the guitar being demoed. The OG in the video is inspired by Gibson's LG model.

They have to something with that headstock logo. Brutally bad.
