Really enjoying this Thailand series. Refreshing to see this side of Thailand and not just the hustle and bustle of the city and tourist areas. Safe travels bro.
Priceless! Only Gabriel Morris would check out that hut on the lil hill! Laughed so hard at your final touch in film making at it's best, sitting on the chair drinking soy milk, watching the sun go down...I can picture you being caught by the owner,,, the cackling laughter creeping up the steps...yikes it's the hitchhicker! lol
In 2006 we stayed in June on Koh Pu at Bonhomie. We where the only guests at the resort, on the island where 2 more turist then. We used the mountainbikes of the resort and exploire the whole island by bike, there where a lot of dirtroads and a lot of mud. The brakes didn’t work 100% and the saddle was broke. But we liked it so much overthere.
Great work mate! It's interesting to see this side of Thailand. Most vloggers wouldn't have the balls to go to places like this. They would rather go for the bleeding obvious like Ko Phi Phi and Maya Bay etc...
@@emilye126 have you seen brave wilderness? I would highly recommend them as they show more of the animal and wildlife side of the places that they visit. The ones that you mentioned rarely do that or not enough
Can't wait to be back exploring these lesser known islands! Out of curiosity Gabe, do you ever get the desire to stay in a particular place for a longer time but move on anyway so you can keep creating new content or do you just always have itchy feet?
Gabriel, don't miss Koh Yao Noi. Stay on the east coast and enjoy spectacular views of the islands in the distance, especially at sunset and sunrise. I live in Thailand and it's one of my favorite "secret" places. It's a small but charming island, and largely not visited by tourists despite being an easy short hop from Phuket and Krabi. Definitely worth staying at least 2 or 3 days.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos If you have time, visit both. They both have their charms. You can easily stay on one island and take your bike across to the other and explore as a day trip. The view of the other islands (looking east) from Koh Yao Noi is by far the best view, so I'd recommend either staying there or just hop over for the sunset beer/view.
Hi Gabriel, you can't get more laid back than this place. Talk about mellow, your travels have allowed you to do much more seeing and doing you're enriching yourself in the process.
Hi Gabe, from chilly Paros, loved this short but sweet video, wish I could have joined you for dinner. We hope otherwise you are good, and also relaxing away from the camera, hugs, Nicole x
LOL! cool vid. My wife (she is Thai) said you were right, the gentleman who hopped on said he needed to go to the mosque (the man said in Thai "Lamad" which means prayer for Muslim). Ha! we love that soy milk drink too! My wife also noted this may be a fisherman's house, and may be gone for weeks while they are out at sea. thanks for showing us we have never seen!
Gabriel, I really appreciate you doing this. I'm heading back to Thailand next week to Koh Samui but I've been curious which Thai islands are the less touristy ones. I don't care if it doesn't have the best beaches. I just want to feel like a local and be with the locals on an island. Even though Koh Samui was perfect several months ago, from what I understand now, it's packed with tourists as it was pre-Covid times. Even though tourism is great for Thailand, it kills the local vibe I'm looking for personally.
Hi Gabriel , ive never been around the islands on the Andaman coast of Thailand , i just assumed they were tourist traps so never bothered with them , cheers for your vlogging insights , im gonna pencil this region in ,the search for authenticity is real , all the best mate
There are some of the most touristy and least touristy islands in this region of Thailand, I guess because there are more islands here than the other areas.
I will put this island on my short list of places to go to in Thailand. It would a perfect iplace to get away the crowds and that noise that comes from it. I'll have to look into it.
Hi Gabe, nice to visit Thailand through your lense. I could very well retire on this island, away from everything and everyone, and still close enough to "civilization" if you need it. Looking forward to visit Australia with your eyes!

you are great I'm a Thai person and still don't dare to walk into other people's houses like this. It's fun to look at, but you have to respect the owner of the house. Another thing, this shows the safety of traveling in Thailand. 👍🙏❤
Yeah, as soon as he got closer, it was clear that was actively being lived in. I would have immediately turned around. Especially with the knives laying around (which proves the point). If you don't know, stay away. A homeless/drunk person could be squatting there, and attack you with a knife. It's not a rich country. And while I'm sure the local community is generally fairly safe (everyone knows everyone, so that keeps most crimes down), looking for trouble is looking for trouble. Things could have turned south real quick there if someone just happened to be sleeping in there when he walked in... Yep, I would have taken some photo from the outside and kept on walking. Nothing personal against Gabe, and who hasn't made a less than ideal choice in a spur of the moment. But as a fellow traveler, this is where the line from "adventurous world traveler" can change to "traveller stabbed to death by local drunk during home invasion".
That cackle from your happy hitch hiker was the cackle of a mad stoner i think , perfect crazy hooligans
