How does this not have tens of thousands of views by now? I'm floored - those are amazing grooves, man. Some so unexpected I was giggling out loud. Awesome.
Over 10 years of watching drum videos on youtube and the algorithm finally reveals this man to me. Love your style and creativity. Opening up lots of new ideas for me to explore.
So underrated This is on e of the best drummers of all time So creative and progressive It's hard to listen to normal (boring) drumming after this guy Most people sound the same even if theyre really good but this guy is pushing Respect!
One of the most creative drummers out there, while still being (and this is important) musical. So many guys have cool ideas and crazy playing, but don't do anything with it except show off and make noise, but Dan manages to find the musicality in these techniques and build them up around a solid groove that's amazing to watch!
Stunning!!! I came across Dan after seeing the A&F Drum Co website which listed him as an endorsee so maybe this video was before he signed as he's using a Premier Tom (good choice!! LOL). Never have I heard such an amazing melodic drummer before, even Terry Bozzio isn't this good with his ridiculously gigantic set up. This man needs more recognition in the Drum world, I would put him way above ANY, so called, Pro drummer out there .......... amazing talent.
dudee i saw you on a meinl promo you're crazy good! id commented you're like a mix between ari and keith carlock but after watching a bit of this i see you got mad range! sibscribed gonna check out more of your vids definitely!
Post-modern recipe for drumming: add as many bizarre cymbals, toms, percussions as you can (the more expensive, the more recognition you will get); hit them as fast as you can; add many pseudo grooves... Shake it, mix it, stir it, record it and publish it... et voila! Now you have so called modern avant-garde mumbo jumbo praised by those who like noise not music. Not my cup of tea.
Why does it bother you so much? Let the drum set be explored fully and welcome any style, approach or expression behind the instrument. There’s room for it all!
You would hate what a lot of the free jazz/new music school of drummers were/are doing here in Vancouver. Sometimes making noise just to climb outside of the box needs to be explored.
Calculated, controversial, catastrophic calm captured on cam.
