Our family of six went to dinner and then to see “Unsung Hero.” Our kids said it was the best Christian movie they’ve ever seen! My husband cried a couple times. Unfortunately, I forgot the tissues. We absolutely loved the story and the acting. Do more movies together! It was a huge blessing to our family.❤😊
It was SO well done!
I agree!
Yes! I agree!
This was the best movie I have seen in a REALLY long time! It was so heartfelt and touching. We laughed, we cried, and we celebrate with the family. What an amazing testimony!
I think looking at my parents in what they did behind-the-scenes with their struggle. It has taken me a couple decades and a couple of kids to give their story the grace it needs. You don’t just see the addict or the distant one…You see the parent who cried on the floor asking God for help. You see the parent that worked overtime so you had a roof, when all you saw was that they missed your performance. Seeing through the eyes of truth and from a place of love and forgiveness, you see God heal the broken.
Beautiful movie about family centered on God! Loved it so much! Thank you to the Smallbone family for your amazing witness! I know this film will bless so many people!
I put this movie release on my calendar & yesterday (May 1) was my 75th birthday & My husband wanted to take me & our oldest daughter came, too! What an incredible story…the reality of every single trial & crisis…the answered prayers…the changed lives because of the truth of Jesus’ love & forgiveness…thank you so much for making this film❣️ I pray that so many go see it….they WILL be touched ❤️✝️
I love how Joel addresses the listeners directly by name when answering their questions. 🥰
Thank you Candace. My husband and I seen this movie. Very Thankful getting to know more about Rebecca too,she is one of my favorite singers, Praise Jesus 👏 🙌
It was the show Happy Days! “The Fonz” literally jumped over a shark while on water skis.😂
My husband and I went to see Unsung Hero and cried through the whole movie. It was so well done and truly honored God. It’s a modern day Bible story.
My husband and I saw the movie today. It was so very good, and I was truly impressed with Joel’s acting. I can’t imagine playing my own parent.
Absolutely love this band. I'm so happy I discovered them 2 years ago, listening loud on my speaker ever since🎉
So glad to have seen it in the theater. You can get immersed in the story without distractions.
Saw the movie 4 times! It was just as good the 4th time as the first time. It brought tears to my eyes every time. Sad & happy. Great job on this movie 🍿 God bless you all.
Moses and Aaron's sister was Miriam. Great show and can't wait to see this movie.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good the movie was. I thought it was gonna be cheesy with bad acting, but it was quite the contrary to that. Its a story every man can relate to, and the acting was superb. Its been a long time since ive enjoyed a movie in a theater so this was pretty refreshing.
I love Joel and For king and country!!
Yes!
Do they support the alphabet community ? Someone is trying to say they do. I want to confirm
"Luke Smallbone, I am your father."
(I hope Joel sees this comment. The perfect line. My Q would be: did Luke tell that joke to Joel at any time around the making of their family's movie?)
We saw the movie Friday night with friends. It was really awesome! So glad I saw it and For King and Country in concert a few years ago!
I love what you and Joel said...loneliness is a thing. God I pray everyday not to be lonely!
Saw them twice in concert and love them! Got our tickets for the movie!!!
I 'm part of having a life group. It's 12 We do Worship. Bible study communion and then prayer.our Chuch has about 200 of these groups. We know how important it is to have commuity, don't do life alone. So on this pass Thursday I said let's go see Unsung Hero instead. So we did Loved it. Sunday after Church I invited a friend that her 17 year old is dealing with stomach cancer. Had her daughter come too. I wanted them to see how the Lord turned all things around for good. I felt it gave them new hope. I also was able to share God stories in it. Loved Loved the movie Thank you all for being God's heart and hand extended ❤
It’s funny that Joel mentioned the phrase “jump the shark”. That actually happened on Happy Days. It was Fonzi who literally jumped the shark while water skiing. He also mentioned that someone from Happy Days was on the set of the movie. I guess it slipped his mind where that idiom came from. Planning on watching the movie this Friday with some family members. Great interview!
I read the cast list so I know it was Don Most but I don’t remember seeing him in the movie. What scene was he in?
Yes,Candace, you. 🙂🤩
I ❤ the movie! 🎉❤
I got to see the movie last night. I LOVED IT! It was a beautiful emotional ride watching it.
Big fan of both of you. Love there music. Alot of respect for you Candace.
Money back? No way! I want to support you and your family in future projects. So well done. We very rarely go to the movies - because of the cost and the available movies to watch. A friend of mine had family members involved in rhe movie and posted about it on FB. We decided to go as one of my daughter's birthday surprises. So glad we did. Thank you for sharing your story. 💝
Love their music!
Shalom Candace and Joel. Blessings to you and your families! Moses sister her name is Miriam. So you are correct Candace😊
Taking my son, Joel, on his 26th birthday to see the movie. His birthday so happens to be on April 26th. We both love King & Country's music. We have been fans for over a decade. We hope to see them in concert one day soon. We had concert tickets for Oct 2020 but it was canceled due to covid outbreak.
The Book of Esther 2013

Thanks for hosting your podcast on UA-cam to promote “Unsung Hero,” Candace, which I am planning to see at my favorite Cinemark theatre in Columbia, Maryland, 4/28, where I also saw Joel’s amazing musical performance in the “The Road to Bethlehem”! HE IS AN INSPIRING CHRISTIAN!!! GO BROTHER, GO!GLORY TO GOD!! 🥳🎉👏
My family and I went to your Christmas drive-in concert in Tallahassee, Florida. It was awesome!
Journey to Bethlehem was such a good movie! Looking forward to Unsung Hero!
I loved this movie. Your story is such an incredible story of family and especially the beautiful relationship of your parents! I will see it again and again! Love you guys!
Go see it! We were do encouraged and their story is told so well- well cast, written, produced and the whole family can go. It helped me be reminded to "run the race" and not give up!
We saw Unsung Hero last night. Very good. Bring tissues!
I loved seeing you in that movie Unsung Hero ❤
1. Spiritual warfare and community. I do kids' ministry at my church and it's easy to get lost in the hard. What Joel said about having another perspective made me pause. Often it's only when it's too much that I start to ask for help. What you said was a good reminder to me that I'm not alone! And that it's good to invite others in. They can fight with me, and they can love on me and encourage me .. and perhaps see things that I can't.
2. Calling. I feel that knowing about my calling has not been about thunderbolts. It's just been me listening to Him and walking in faith. Often with trepidation ... as the things He tells me to do are not easy. It's only when I look back that I can see His leading.
Thanks for sharing this!❤
Moses sister was Miriam you were right. Great interview!
How cool to listen to all guests of the Smallbone family to find out such cool little details of the movie-thanks Candace! We love For K&C and are excited to see the movie on the 27th!!
Family day was my birthday. And all I asked for my birthday was for my family to go to this movie with me. I loved it and my family loved it too! I met the brothers at a concert and gave them my book. I been to lots of their concerts. Their music has helped me in so many ways.
AWESOME INTERVIEW! Saw the movie and posted the trailer on my Facebook page with my grateful comments as to its inspirational quality. MOVIE OF THE YEAR, YES!
Excited to see it later today! ❤
Thank you both for sharing the wonderful family story of faith and love, to inspire many others.
Can’t wait to go
I think a book should be written that covers all the details of their story. This would be a great supplement to this movie. I recently watched the movie Miracles from Heaven. A short time after I discovered the book (audio version), which I have greatly enjoyed.
Behind the Lights: The Extraordinary Adventure of a Mum and Her Family by Helen Smallbone
Love you'll be in it too Cameron
Going to see it tomorrow. Kirkland WA
Great podcast
Wizard of Oz!!!
My favorite too ❤
My Mom was abused by my Father… at the same time I was burned (3rd degree, 33% of my body), while giving birth to my sister, my Dad presented divorce papers. Mom went directly into the psych ward. We were forced to live with my Dads lovers then foster care. My Mom came back to health, fought in the courts as she was getting her undergrad. We schemed a plan and “ran away” with my Mom, two states away. She was caught years later and then given full Parentalship. She went on to Ace her RN degree the year I graduated from high school…the incredible love she showed was so obvious. She died of cancer at age 51 (1996)…she would love the film!
❤❤❤I look forward to seeing all of you in heaven
Enjoying this interview very much😮
Amazing ❤❤
My favorite movie is old,,,,The Scarlet Pimpernal.
The wiizard of oz is so classic and i live in Kansas. Joel watch it. 😆
You should both be the leads on a Grease movie!!! Love your podcast Candace!!! Love how you use your platform to honor Jesus! King and Country....love your family as well!! Can not wait to see the movie this weekend! Continue praying for you all.
The movie Unsung Hero is outstanding! Thank you for making such a touching, realistic movie that also glorifies the Lord! Keep them coming, maybe someone else's life story is next:) Loved the comments about purpose, really enforced the comments about purpose, as together, you described the way to find your purpose in life...upward outward with God! Love this description!!
My favorite movie is Shawshank :)
Seen u guys on unashamed and duck call room,,I support anything these guys do and they recommend your movie so I intend to checking it out, anything that gives GOD glory I'm in
I am married 19 years ❤ to answer your podcast question
Candace, you don't know my family bit I feel like we're pals.
I watched you on Full House as a kid. And my kids watched you on the reboot.
I have a sister who lives in LA you sort of remind me of.
Anyway, my Journey to Bethlehem is one of my kids' fave movies and I've been listening to For King and Country for a while now. Great tunes!
But I'm writing because my daughter, now 10, looks up to you and I love sharing your work with her that she has a Christian role model who is "so cool", as cool, if not cooler than other amazing female talents (like an uber famous singer who's fans have their own moniker she is so popular, if not so Christian).
I love that my daughter has people like you at our church in real life, or friends' parents, and seeing you in media who she knows as an awesome actress doing new works for the Lord.
Thank you for showing up and giving us the best of you.
My kids saw your brothers' ad today about comparing shows like Mr. Rogers to Blippi (the younger boys loved Blippi) and they totally got it.
They are so psyched to help support Christian media, now. They thought ot was cheezy before. Or boring. Thank you and all these amazingly gifted Christian families. Thank you for helping to make Christianity cool for our kids.
Thank you! From a mom who had go switch to public school from Christian a couple years ago and lost the home church we were raising them in to a cross country move...
Every little bit helps.
Thank you! For bringing your best believing selves and bringing together such fantastic artists to check out for King and Country.
Your work is making an impact. Thank you!
Yes, Miriam was the sister of Aaron and Moses. Great interview. I can’t wait to watch the movie.
The Wizard of Oz flying monkeys traumatized me as a child.
Yes, here too Big Time!!!!
The wicked witch scared the crap outta me…
“Jumping the shark” came from Happy Days when they had Fonzie do it.
Are the Smallbone boys related to Ian Smallbone, originally from Maryborough in Australia.? I stayed with them when I was younger and I used to listen to Ian Smallbone, Ian and Phil Truscott and their band called "Family" - who were very popular in Australian Christian circles in the 1970's
Went to see the movie in Waco with a tornado watch going on. Great movie!
Love how he supports women
great video
Yes, Miriam was Moses' sister. Bible reading is so important.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am looking forward to seeing this movie❣️Miriam was Jesus, Yeshua’s mother’s name. You might want to listen to Beckett Cooks’ analysis of “Grease” on his UA-cam channel. He opened my eyes to the immorality in the story. God bless you all❣️🥰💕🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
Cadence please let Joel know it was Ron Howard 😂
Watching this much later, but yes, Miriam was Moses' sister.
I anticipated a really good film, but I did not expect to be BLOWN AWAY by it!!! Joel has proved himself to be a superb actor. And to know that he and Joel also co-directed (was it with Candace's husband?) and co-wrote the screen play--I am floored! This was the greatest Christian film I have seen dealing with family issues. The quality of film production was excellent, and I am so ready to get the DVD and share it with all my friends.
Yes Your right Candace Moses had a Sister named Miriam and his brothers name is Aaron
FUN FACT, your Aussie Ancestors Originated in England but were sent away as prisoners on the island of Australia😊
It pleases our King of Glory for all people to stay purely cleansed in Jesus (2 Peter 3) so that we can take the authority He gave us as His followers over all the power of evil ( Luke 10). When we stay cleansed and connected to Jesus all day long, we are participating in God's Living Body here on earth, rightly connected with His Ruling Headship in Heaven, (Colossians 3). And, staying connected to Jesus' Headship, allows God's Kingdom of Love, and Peace, and Joy to grow right where we live and work! (Matthew 6)
LORD, JESUS, MAY "UNSUNG HERO" BLESS EVERYONE, AND BUILD YOUR KINGDOM CULTURE RIGHT HERE, BY THE POWER OF YOUR LOVE. AMEN.
The water is fine at 40 Joel ☺
Yes, Miriam is Moses’ sister.
This is all a movement of GOD. GOD is showing his Glory through these movies including "The Blind" the tragic story of Phil Robertson and turning GOD for full redemption. Phil has baptized many people and leading to Jesus our Savior. To GOD be the GLORY in Jesus Christ Name Amen and Amen
Isaiah 64:8
"Yet you, Lord, are our Father.
We are the clay, you are the potter;
we are all the work of your hand."
Amen and Amen in Jesus Christ Name Amen
I have never seen Greece or The Wizzard of Oz. Miriam is Moses & Aaron's sister.
It was
Moses’ sister was Miriam.
Meriam is Moses sister's name
Oh. My. Gosh!!
He's never seen the Wizard of Oz?!
😳😮😯
Mariam is Moses sister.
There are only two Grease movies.
Moses’s sister is Miriam I promise😊
Jesus’ mother was Miriam
Yes he should be in a remake of Grease lol
Someone is trying to spread information saying unsong heroes creators support lgbtq. Can anyone confirm this? Please, befoee i and many others i know support this
So about the wizard of oz, When I became a Christian out of the new age?I realized the wizard of oz was the first movie that showed that there was only one source of power and it just mattered what your intentions were, Which we know is not true. There are no good witches. They have the same power sources. The bad witch they're just deceived in to thinking what they're doing is okay, In the real world for sure. It's sad because it's such an epically famous amazing movie, But truthfully the message that it not a and certainly not biblically true. 😢
It's fiction.....
Miriam is Moses sisters name you were right
They sing about human women heroes. Period
Not accurate have you heard the song? ? . Jesus gives us opportunities to start again. Lyrics “Sisters, we can start again
Give honor 'til the end
Love, we can start again (oh oh)
Brothers, we can start again
Give honor 'til the end
Yes, we can start again
We can start again”
And Jesus is love.
Why would the most imporent thi g about God stepping in be removed.Just me, I think it would have shown unbelievers the goodness of God.Ive seen alot of this in life. And they were unbelivable but true. And I would not tell my testimony without them.thats real living God stepping in from heaven. Not judging just asking. I think it would be more powerful for Jesus
I saw the film yesterday, it DOES show how God moved through miracles
He was sharing for the sake of film making it was edited appropriately so the audience didn’t think “ok, now this isn’t real!”
So that’s why a podcast and media allows them to share more nuance!
"THIRD ADAM 4" taught by "Spencer Smith" on his youtube channel teaches about the groundwork being laid for an emerging one world religion it's worth the listen, he is accurate. Jesus Himself said, "See to it then, that the light within you is not darkness." Lk11:35. Say whaaaat? Pay attention!! Martin Iles teaches Scripture accurately.
Jesus was NOT BEING SUNG ABOUT
