Maybe I am old fashioned but I think the fashion for showing your belly button at events like award shows is vulgar and should be restriced to the beach or the pool.

Reminds me of that episode of "I Love Lucy" when Lucy and Ethel were in Paris and admired French fashion and Ricky and Fred decided to play a joke on them and have someone make "dresses" of potato sacks and feed bags and said they were from a famous designer. The girls wore the outfits out to dinner thinking they looked high fashion and then the guys let them in on the joke and of course they were furious and felt humiliated. The twist at the end was when they were leaving Paris they saw a designer and his models had the exact same outfits that the designer saw on Lucy and Ethel.
We live in times of some financial constraint, which means trying not to waste anything. Some of those dresses look like they've been made to include some left over material from other garments : no waste - - piece them in or add them on to new garments, and call it high end design. A lot of "mish mash" going on

And you are TOTALLY on point that Music Awards tend to bring out some more eclectic styles, especially when ALL musical genres are included. My biggest complaint is the background the Awards Show chose the the “Not Red” Carpet photos! Yech! I found it very busy and distracting. 😵💫
I'm all for originality and not the cookie cutter look on any carpet, BUT some of these outfits are just not flattering and don't do any justice to their figure. Perhaps some of these women need to hire a stylist.

That disaster with the bull horns boobs, was just so many levels of wrong. Isla Fishers dress was fabulous, loved it, as I did the young woman in the black and white polka dot two piece. Rae(?) I loved her dress, simple and classic. Dua was beautiful and stylish as always.

I taught fashion and design for 40 years and I've seen some doozies in my time but I know these people have paid through the nose for these garments or are freebies to promote designers All I keep coming back to is give it 10 years and you'll facepalm and say what had I been drinking 😱😱😱😱
Would you consider doing a memorial edition of Iris Apfel? Such a style icon. She died at 102 years young earlier this month. I enjoyed the costume elements of the Brit Awards. It was so extreme and over the top, especially for the ladies. Thank you ❤
Im just not a fan of hairy armpits. Thats why God gave us razors. I gave many many baths as a nurse and you can be sure those pits are getting scrubbed. Deoderized and powdered if possible. Come on ladies.

Seriously, on the drive to work today I saw a tree that had something all caught up and tangled in it that looked like one of those light brown plastic shopping bags, but about the size of a four-man camping tent and completely shredded, strands wafting in all directions on the zephyred breeze. I couldn't figure out what happened there or how. Now here I am, watching this video on the Tube of You, and at the 5:20 mark, THERE IT IS AGAIN! That light brown tent-sized shredded plastic bag!
I loved St Vincent's skirt! Loved the color, it was fabulous! The fringe and metal grommet detail gave it an interestingness factor without it coming off as costumey. It did need a lining though. Charli XCX's pink and green creation... well, let's be honest. The designer had just redecorated her daughter's room and had all the old sheets, shams, comforter, and curtains laying in a pile ready to go to donations. In the close up of the train you can clearly see those are curtains and the ruffle is the valance. I mean really, who you trying to fool???
Quite interesting, thanks! To me this shows the importance of a good fit and high end material for a good look. A lot of these dresses look like borrowed (which they probably are, and a good thing, too) and not properly fitted to the person wearing it. Sloppy looking seams as well. I actually quite like the empty décolleté look, but would wear it with big statement earrings.
