Hello UA-cam Dad! Thank you so much for this tutorial, you were a literal life saver. After spending twenty minutes shouting "I don't understand" at my pictogram instructions that were included with the workmate, and being on the edge of calling my actual father in defeat at not being able to do this myself, your video came to the rescue! Bless you, thank you, and may you have a fantastic day. Much love and appreciation, Abi (workmate assembly amateur)
I tried following the instructions and to be honest, I’d have stood as much chance if my 1-year-old would have drawn them. This video had me up and running in no time at all. So helpful and clear. Thank you.
You Sir, are an absolute life saver! The instructions in box are hopeless and impossible to follow. Your video made the job a breeze. Thank you for making this
Black and decker should pay you for this!! I spent 30 min on the first 4 steps thinking to myself " I know I'm dumb but not THAT dumb! " Thanks for uploading this!!
It's my workmate you're my new mate. Read a lot of reviews before I bought my bench and all said it was a nightmare to assemble. I followed your video, watch, pause and complete. Legend thank you 🎉🎉🎉
Very simply, I could never have assembled it without this video. My only minor problem was driving the locking pins into the handles - they still stick out but work fine. A result!
GRACIAS GRACIAS GRACIAS , Esta tan bien explicado visualmente que ni siquiera se necesita entender inglés y necesitaba montar la mesa que con las instrucciones no lo conseguí . Gracias 🙏
Like a lot of other people the instructions to assemble the work bench was very difficult to follow. This video was very helpful and got myself out of a fix. On downside I found that one of roundhead bolts was bent, so it was a trip to B&Q for a replacement, job done. Thank you.
So pleased you posted this video. The instructions had me and my father at logger heads due to the fact the instructions for this are impossible to make ANY sense off, B&D should be sued for the complete lack of interest in customer support. You sir deserve a medal for the number of hours you have saved everyone.
This video was soo helpful!! Helping my 18yr old son put this together for his firsts steps into the world of carpentry was so easy. Had we been left with just box instructions it would have taken forever!! Thank you so much!!
Am 68 years old, first time trying to put one of these together, with no instructions in the box. Some bits were obvious, but, never could have done all of it without this video. Brilliant, thank you. Now to go use my B & D Scorpion electric saw, as I think my hand sawing days are just about over, what with weak hands and wrists!.... Still got a young DIY heart though, though I think I may be on my last year now :)
Fantastic video. Clear and concise, which unfortunately ,the enclosed instructions lacked . I blastphemed once or twice trying to put my workmate together. On finding your video, I completely the assembly in no time. Thank you once again.
Simply couldn't have done it without your video! Very, very thankful that you took the trouble to record it. And perfectly done too! (It was only after setting it up did I notice that Amazon had delivered it minus the orange handle knobs. There is no way that I am going to disassemble it to have it returned!!!)
Excellent video = VERY helpful. You should get a medal from B&D! The instructions that came with this (otherwise great product) were/are useless - they should just point people to this video. Well done and Thank you.
Like Anthony, without the video I could never have followed the limited instructions in the box. The video is accurate and simple to follow. Clearly this is someone who should make more videos like this.
Thank you so much for your help, the original instructions and video from B&D left out important steps which made it a nightmare to try to assemble. 👌🏻👌🏻
Really enjoyed your video, as you showed it step by step (really easy to understand) I am a senior female and pride myself with following instructions (flat pack products etc) with achievable results. However, the instructions enclosed with the WM301 are very basic. Your video helped tremendously. Thank you.
I thought the instructions were some sort of comic strip, I spent one and a half hours trying to work out where the round/hexagonal bit goes, at one point there were three family members adding their input, to no avail, thankfully you came to my rescue and explained it was a spanner, pity Black and Decker couldn't have done the same. Thanks for your help, I couldn't have done it without you.
Thank you so much, I was trying to wrap my head around the building instructions and was struggling. Not only are they bad, they are plain WRONG. At least i know I’m not going crazy. Thank you again!
THANK YOU! I've just bought the WM536 and was completely baffled by the (lack of) instructions on how to assemble, particularly the blocks part and whilst they are different models, that part is still spot on. Thanks for taking the time to make this! :)
Thanks a ton, GSP mate!! Your instructions and video are so structured, precise and clear - without it the assembly of my new WM301 would have been a tough job indeed!! Hats off to the selfless service people like you offer for which life gets so much easier. Humble and absolutely sincere gratitude to you friend!! Best regards😀👏👏👏
Thanks for the video, it made the installation easier. The hammering in of those pins was a pain though, surely that could have been improved over the years.
Thank you!! My dad was at the end of his rope faffing about with this for 4 hours. When I showed him your video he managed to get it done in 20 mins. I’m a graphic designer so have made instruction manuals myself in the past- whoever made the ones that came with this product was AWFUL. Truly truly awful.
Thank you so much - I wish I had searched for this video before I wasted a couple of hours trying to figure out the instructions! The spanner had me completely baffled - the instructions looked like I needed to use it as part of the structure!
Thank you for the video. Much easier than attempting to follow the printed instructions. A tip for the pins - use C clamps or vice grips (preferably metal) to gradually force them in. I would’ve been there forever trying to get them in with a hammer!
Thank you so muuuuch!!!! Without this video i was ready to get it back and ask for my money. The main problem were plastic black pieces that were completely wrongly explained on the user manual, and pictures of the wooden plates are different so i tought they gave me the wrong one.Luckily i found your video and assembled it without problems!
That is a brilliant video. I got a model 125 today, April 11 2023 and it seems to be identical except you will now need a Phillips head screwdriver for the eight screws holding the cross pieces in place. The new instructions are in mini booklet form and are as bad as the foldout instructions from a couple of years ago.
Thanks for this, I'd heard the instructions were bad so bypassed them and came straight to this video. Saved what I'm sure would have been a lot of stress!
This video kept me from throwing the bloody thing through the window. What kind of numbskull produces instructions like those! Thank you so much for taking the time to produce the video, it was a saviour! 😮
You absolute legend. It was the most annoying thing I've ever had to put together. I thought the plastic spanner was a part and couldn't work out where to put it 🤦♂️😂😂😂😂
Your good Pal. This had me stumped for a while and your video helped. It’s the black plastic pieces H&J which didn’t make sense. Well done, had it finished in 10 mins after this video. 😊
Thanks for great video. The instructions from Black+Decker were useless and we couldn’t follow them so you saved us hours! Putting the pins in the handles was ridiculous and surely they could have been fixed in a better way.
Great instructions buddy! The instructions with the product are ridiculous. I thought it was missing parts and all sorts. Especially when I couldn’t find the manual. Due to it being printed on a throwaway piece of separating card! They’re the worst instructions ever too. This was a great help. Saved me making a bad review and complaining to my local b&q’s help desk.
Pity I can only add the one like, and not a 100. And I haven't even received the thing yet 😂 ; it's to be delivered this evening. But I know already that your instructions are going to be a life-saver! Thank you!
Brilliant video. Thank you so much for doing this .... I just bought one of these for my wife and she was getting really ratty because she could put it together .... So she went out and I have just watched your video and managed to put it together so thank you so much for explaining it so well ... Regards Tina
Thanks for the video. Black and Decker should be ashamed of those instructions in the box - who the heck signed that off?! The leg braces, parts Z and Y, were terrible buckled and needed a fair bit of persuasion to line up. Top marks for putting the video together!
Top job, mate. I just built mine while referring to this video. You're a star. Agree with previous comments, the included instructions are not much use - watch this instead.
This is a super helpful video! Thanks so much. I got my Workmate together your excellent guidance. I also added lock washers for the stand bolts and I attached the front knobs with 1" 6/32 bolts/nuts though 1.25" would be better. Thanks again!
You took me out of "assembly-hell" with this video. Thank you, kind sir, for posting this and rescuing me that horrible night when I tried so hard to follow the assembly instructions to the "tee". Today I am very happy with my workhorse, thanks to you and only you.
From Spain, thank you very much for the video. Thank goodness I saw your video before the instructions, it would have been impossible to assemble it. I don't think it would take much for companies like Black and Decker to make assembly videos and include a link or QR on the box instead of those embarrassing instructions.
John Seldon The pins in the handles I put just a touch of grease on the end of the pier and tapped it a little bit with a hammer and used a vice grip and just push them down through the handle I just put three 125 Workmates together not three hours ago I got pretty fast at it...!
This is really the vídeo we need to correctly assemble this ítem, thanks for this clear explanation way better than the black and decker official vídeo. Very usefull, we need more people like you in this caotic world.
A helpful video thank you. Another top tip re assembly is if you're having problems getting the rear jaw to fit remove or slacken off the brackets - gives you more leverage to ensure you can get it to fit.
Excellent, thanks for this, very helpful. I was fine until the very last point. The pins to hold the handles in place are very difficult to fit. I managed to cobble together a screw to hold in place and will look for a very thin bolt.

Yes the instructions are impossible. And im pretty technical and handy.
You Sir, are an absolute life saver! The instructions in box are hopeless and impossible to follow. Your video made the job a breeze. Thank you for making this
couldnt have done it without your video. thanks
Black and decker should pay you for this!!

*Great product **MyBest.Tools** and 🥳🤔💓price.😍😂😓😀😉💯😍*
Very simply, I could never have assembled it without this video. My only minor problem was driving the locking pins into the handles - they still stick out but work fine. A result!
2 tricks to the pins, look down them to make sure you can see daylight to check the holes line up, then find a big hammer and whack it hard!
Yeah I am stuck on this bit too stupid design they could have used a couple of screws instead.
GRACIAS GRACIAS GRACIAS , Esta tan bien explicado visualmente que ni siquiera se necesita entender inglés y necesitaba montar la mesa que con las instrucciones no lo conseguí . Gracias 🙏

How hard can it be? This one was beating me like a yard dog. Thank you. Your video saved my marriage. The package was missing the locking pins.
Fantastic video. Clear and concise, which unfortunately ,the enclosed instructions lacked .
I blastphemed once or twice trying to put my workmate together.

Thank you so much.

I looked at the inadequate instructions and went straight to youtube. Great Tutorial thank you

I would never had got this together without this video - what awful instructions from black and decker !!
Werll done mate
Thank you so much, I was trying to wrap my head around the building instructions and was struggling. Not only are they bad, they are plain WRONG. At least i know I’m not going crazy. Thank you again!
The instructions are diabolical and this is a wonderful video. Well done Sir.

This video is brilliant - the instructions with the Workmate were 99.9% useless and this saved me. Thanks!

Absolute hero 💪 you saved me from throwing it in a skip. Thank you!!!
Very good, clear instruction vid. Thanks Mr Stripy Paint. THIS is what the Internet should be about, helping people. 👍
Could not have done this without your help. Would never have spotted left & right markings. B&D should be offering you a job👍
This is one of the best assembly instructions I have ever seen. Saved my a lot of time, thank you very much.
Thank you so much - I wish I had searched for this video before I wasted a couple of hours trying to figure out the instructions! The spanner had me completely baffled - the instructions looked like I needed to use it as part of the structure!
Thank you so much, if not for this tutorial I would have struggled to assembled this workbench thanks.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Printed instructions were indecipherable!
Thank you for the video. Much easier than attempting to follow the printed instructions. A tip for the pins - use C clamps or vice grips (preferably metal) to gradually force them in. I would’ve been there forever trying to get them in with a hammer!
Thank you for this video, the paper instructions for this are still woeful to this day, 8 years later!
Thanks for the video, a few unintelligible diagrams and I was snookered without it 👏
Thank you, I was never going to succeed with the included instructions!
Having just bought one these Workmates your instructions are priceless, your video made the assembly a piece of cake. Thank you 👍
Thank you!!!! Instructions were useless! You made it easy for me!! 😃xx

even eight years later your video is of tremendous help, thank you :)
Thank you so much Sir. Your guidance on the last part helped immensely. The instructions provided were useless.
Excellent - many thanks. I would've gone bald tearing my hair out trying to figure out where the hell that hex tool fitted on the bench!!
What a guy thanks for the video because as you said the instructions are an absolute waist of paper your video helped tremendously.
Thank you. This video saved my sanity. Far far better directions than the company's official assembly video.
You absolute legend. It was the most annoying thing I've ever had to put together. I thought the plastic spanner was a part and couldn't work out where to put it 🤦♂️😂😂😂😂
So helpful, made a job with terrible instructions do-able by a someone with pretty limited skills. THANKYOU!
Your good Pal. This had me stumped for a while and your video helped. It’s the black plastic pieces H&J which didn’t make sense. Well done, had it finished in 10 mins after this video. 😊
You’re a life saver! Was starting to think I need a workbench to put my workbench together!
Thanks very much for the video fella !
You saved me a world of hurt.
We all really apprecite your time and efforts 👌
Thanks so much for this, the included instructions are about as useful as a chocolate teapot. So much easier when following this video
Thank you so much for this video, we would never have been able to work it out with out it!
Great video - thank you. Made what appeared to be, according to Black and Decker instructions, a complex job very simple.
A quick search on UA-cam after looking at the instructions brought me here. Excellent tutorial! You've done a great job! :)
Fantastic video, thank you. So much easier to follow than the instructions!
Thanks for great video. The instructions from Black+Decker were useless and we couldn’t follow them so you saved us hours! Putting the pins in the handles was ridiculous and surely they could have been fixed in a better way.

Fantastic thanks! I'd have been kicking bits of it round the room in fury without this video !
Thanks for taking the time to make the video would never have been able to assemble using instructions
supplied.
Well that made it easy. Big thanks. I'm registered blind and was able to follow your I structures. A tribute to your clarity.
Thank you so much! Those instructions were absolutely useless, you have done me a great favour by doing this tutorial :)
Pity I can only add the one like, and not a 100. And I haven't even received the thing yet 😂 ; it's to be delivered this evening. But I know already that your instructions are going to be a life-saver! Thank you!
Great how to video, I put my work mate together in about 10 minutes! So much easier than the included instructions.

lol,, bet that made her feel better
Thanks for the video.

Perfecte uitleg!! Erg duidelijk!! Op deze manier is het kinderspel!! Bedankt!!
Thank you so much. Probably would've been tearing my hair out without your help x
thanks buddy, I was struggeling to assemble this using the not so clear instructions. This makes it easy indeed. Thumbs up
This is a super helpful video! Thanks so much. I got my Workmate together your excellent guidance. I also added lock washers for the stand bolts and I attached the front knobs with 1" 6/32 bolts/nuts though 1.25" would be better. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for this..the instructions were terrible. Wouldn't have done it without you! 👍
Thanks. As others have said instructions as clear as a London fog. Great video, thanks 🙏🏻
You took me out of "assembly-hell" with this video. Thank you, kind sir, for posting this and rescuing me that horrible night when I tried so hard to follow the assembly instructions to the "tee". Today I am very happy with my workhorse, thanks to you and only you.

Great video. Made it easy. Those pins for the handles are a bugger to hammer in though.
The pins are a nightmare!
Worked out easy for me. Just hammered them in. To whom it may still be useful info, there is one side that seems cut to be the entrance.
John Seldon
The pins in the handles I put just a touch of grease on the end of the pier and tapped it a little bit with a hammer and used a vice grip and just push them down through the handle I just put three 125 Workmates together not three hours ago I got pretty fast at it...!
Thanks mate. I was confused by the tool part that came with it :D
Great video.. Would have been lost without it.Thanks👍🇮🇪☘️
Thanks very much for your video with clear guidance, impossible to figure out how to decode the terrible instructions 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙂🙂

Excellent tutorial and almost certainly saved me much faffing about try to figure out which piece goes where. Thank you!
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. Made the job so much easier and a great reference.
Thanks, your video saved me a lot of angst and time!
thank you so much. Those instructions are a pain in the arse. Your video so simple to follow.
Thank you assembled in about half hour. Instructions would have taken me hours.
Thank you very much for your help. it would have been impossible for me to assambel it without your help. Thank you very much indeed.
Thanks! Made the assembly MUCH easier!
Legend video. Saved me lots of time and stress. Built it following instruction even after several beers. Boom.
Excellent, thanks for this, very helpful. I was fine until the very last point. The pins to hold the handles in place are very difficult to fit. I managed to cobble together a screw to hold in place and will look for a very thin bolt.
