Fun Fact: in Japan, Crash Boom Bang (titled as Crash Bandicoot Festival) was the last title in the series released in the region up until the N.Sane Trilogy in 2017, as Titans & Mutants never came out over there most likely due to the widely different direction those games took in comparison to the previous continuity, in terms of gameplay and tone (same reason why Japan never got 'Jak 3', since 'Jak II: Renegade' sold very poorly in Japan, though that didn't stop 'Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier' from being localised and released over there).
I might be crazy but I actually preferred the GBA and DS version of Crash of the TItans over the console version. Why I bought a game with the same title that many times is beyond me though

I had Crash Boom Bang when I was a little kid. I barely had any other games to compare it to, so I guess I had fun. I probably wouldn’t today. I do still remember the music.
Actually I think Crash of the Titans is pretty good. While yes there is a lot of padding, mainly in the form of the beaten-up mechanic, when they try to actually throw in platforming it’s fun. Plus upgrading Crash means that you don’t have to take control of mutants as much. And those touch screen focused level are optional. I never played them because I already know how annoying touch screen mandatory games are. Also the video that shows gameplay at the beginning, while bad, is impressive by DS standards. Plus you didn’t even mention that the game has actual 3D cutscenes, however they are bad ones at that. So while yes all the extras are annoying, the main game is pretty fun. I’d say half of the levels heavily lean on the beatem-up too much but the other half is fun. If you find it for cheap on like Amazon or a garage sale I’d say go for it.
Crash of the Titans was my first de game and I love it till today. All the criticisms here are valid but it probably won’t effect my good memories of the game.
Yes, babby me was very fond of derping around in Sonic Rush, mishearing the song in the grass stage as "right there, hattaloni" and because the file I played was already beaten, trying out the final boss a bunch of times.
