I tried your method of grouping but when I do as you demonstrate the circle stays and covers the head. any suggestions on what I am missing here?

Make sure the circle is above the video in the track order.
I see that I clicked on the Circle 1st, and Video 2nd, then I grouped. So that might be the reason.
