    I had no idea anything like the pattern projector even existed. You’re like a sewing wizard! ✨✨

    First, yours is the best projector video I've seen, and I've gone through a lot of them. So, thank you for that. What I don't think you or any have is a long view. that is, one picture or frame that showing the whole concept. A shot with the (a) projector (b) projecting light and showing (c) material with the (d) pattern image projected onto the flat material. In a movie, it's where the set up scene begins the movie. Outside of that setup scene I think your tutorial is the clearest, great speaking voice, charm and you go over many complex, important details charmingly and clearly. Thank you.

      Thank you so much for you kind comment! I'm glad it was helpful. Thank you for the suggestion for a long view, I will note this down for future video ideas! I haven't used my projector in quite awhile, but it is important to show those things so I will keep it in mind :)

    Does the calibration process take care of the skewing I would expect from projecting from the side, instead of projecting straight above the table?

    • @SlewLiving
      @SlewLiving  6 днів тому

      Yes, calibrating ensures that the image is projected accurately no matter where it is projected from.

    I notice when calibrating, the lines are pretty thick on the squares and rectangles calibrating tool pdf. Where exactly should the lines of the grid on my cutting mat line up with in relation to the pdf tool. Should the grid lines be aligned with the inner part of the thick black lines or within it or on the outside of the black lines. Hope I explained that well

    • @SlewLiving
      @SlewLiving  17 днів тому +1

      Ah yes I understand. As long as you are consistently measuring the black lines from the same place each time and also cutting from the same place each time, it doesn't matter how thick the black lines are. So for example, if you calibrate from within the black lines, and then you cut your pattern from inside the black lines, it will all align. Hope that helps!

    i've seen a few videos now and this epson projector seems to be popular, why is that? also does the software you need to download for this projector allow you to move/rotate/flip the pattern images so you don't have to keep moving your fabric? Or do you need a different software to do that?

    • @SlewLiving
      @SlewLiving  27 днів тому +1

      I think this projector may be popular because it is an affordable price point for a reliable brand and style. There are many other projectors but they don't have the same track record. That's just my thinking! Different software is required to flip individual pattern pieces, but the basic Adobe software will allow you to move the entire 'page' if that makes sense!

    What point thickness do you set your pattern lines at?

    • @SlewLiving
      @SlewLiving  24 дні тому

      I didn't change any settings for the line thickness, so they just appeared as however the file was set up!

    I have a question, how do you get your patterns on you computer that are compatible with your projector? Can you use any paper patterns? What is the process? I feel as though I am missing some steps. Thanks

    • @SlewLiving
      @SlewLiving  5 місяців тому

      You need 'pdf pattern files' which are a digital version of paper patterns. Lots of designers now offer pdf patterns but it's worth checking before you purchase. Hard copy paper patterns won't come with pdf versions unless specified :)

    How to get the pattern?

    • @SlewLiving

      Patterns are available from different sewing pattern companies! The one I show here is from @lowlandkids

    What stand did you use for your projector ?

    • @SlewLiving
      @SlewLiving  7 місяців тому

      It's the Epson short throw project wall mount, if you search that it will come up with some options! I stand it upright on the table as shown in the video but it's actually designed to be mounted sideways on the wall!

      It can be tricky to set up initially, but like most things will become easy once you get used to it :)
