This is why I really love Jamie. As soon as COVID broke out he jumped into the studio and filmed ‘Keep Cooking and Carry On’ and now with the cost of living with which we’re all struggling he does recipes like this. Honestly a great guy who works hard to help us out and make us feel good when times is hard. Big love to Jamie and all his team x
Totally agree…well said
Couldn’t of said it better my self, he has never been about lining his pockets, only trying to give us quick healthy and cheap meals❤
Why not use both meats pk bef or lamb turkey its the same try it kevkevkev ok kev kev kev kev kev kev kev kev kev kev kev kev
i like Miguel Barclays recipes too
When he did 30 min meals, then people complained it took too long…. So then he did 15 min meals
Jamie always aimed to support us, "normal people" to eat healthy, simply, and taking ownership of cooking while adjusting to what we can afford. Thanks for all those years and ideas, you're very consistant in your values and show much more support and leadership that institutions, which hopefuly will drive further this agenda in the future.
Does this include when he talked the government in to adding sugar tax?
UK is really devastated that you need to chop potatoes into little pieces just to save up energy?!
@@tomchloe3208 does the why matter?
@@tomchloe3208 ooo, that sounds like a good idea based on his consistent practice of improving health outcomes. Sounds like the government agreed?
Jamie is without a doubt the best chef I can relate to. I have enjoyed cooking his recipes for years with my family. Thank you Naked Chef!
I love that Jamie has not left his UA-cam family haha and still posts delicious recipes. While many other famous chefs post clips from their 20 years old TV shows.
Love you Jamie...all the way from Cape Town South Afrika...keep going boy🙏
Because other famous chefs actually has work to do unlike jamie

Hey Jamie, I know you are a busy man, but I hope you read this.
Thank you for giving people clever and creative ideas to flavour up there every day budget.
All the best from Germany

Very good tips in these harsh times and very respectful towards the common people.
jamies work to educate on flavours and recipes is a wonderful thing, god bless this dude whos taking classics and giving a proffesional touch and inspiring, thankyou
Well done jamie. The art of cooking on a budget has been lost in the last decade we need more people like you to show us the way
Well done Jamie, particularly in these times with people struggling. This is a great dish!
i like this recipe, i remember my Mother did some similar meatloaf, and with mashed potatoes was always so delicious ! Fantastic Jamie cooking with open mind for this difficult time🙏👍
Jamie... you have no idea how much you have helped me! Cooking a meatloaf on top of the stove?!! What???? My stove is so old I have to get down on my knees to light it every time!! And at 66 yrs old... nightmare! Can't wait to try this!!!
There are some quite unnecessary comments in the newspapers today, saying that Jamie doesn't have a clue about real poverty and that his £1 a portion calculation assumes that people have an already well-stocked store cupboard. Well, I've just gone out and bought the ingredients for the meat loaf, and the only extras I needed were the pork mince and the red chillies. I had everything else, and I'm not particularly well stocked up. Anyway, no one forced Jamie to do this series, and no one's forcing anybody to watch it or to cook the recipes. It's not Jamie's fault that we are in a time of economic hardship, and at least he's trying to help. There's no pleasing some people, and they have to look for someone to blame.
Even if you buy everything from Sainsbury's it's only £9.37 and you have a block of cheese, bread , chillis ,garlic and oregano left over for some banging cheese on toast 😁.
I think meals for 5 - 10 pounds is more logical than one pound. You can get lots of stuff for 10 pounds in regards to vegetables, herbs etc
He is just fantastic! Very clever, creative, and he is spreading the positive vibes. Thanks for making life better!
Thanks for watching!
I love how easy and fast you create content for the current situation! ❤ love from Norway
My favorite jamie show so far. Super simple recipes, quick and delicious meals. THANK YOU!❤
Thank you for this cost effective meal. Love watching you cook.
Jamie - thank you very much - I've been a fan for years and have never been disappointed with one of your recipes. I made this last night and it was just gorgeous - the family have already requested I make it again :)
So simple yet flavorful and appealing!. Thanks Jamie
Made me hungry! Looks brilliant and simple.
Great flavors & simple enough! I’m sending this to my son at Uni! Thanks Jamie, keep up the good work 😊
Delicious! Will definitely try this! Thanks Jaimie!! Wonderful as always!
i've never seen meatloaf cooked on a stove top...and thats why you are master chef oliver.
best meatloaf recipe i have ever seen, i will definitely try this one.
bless up my brother.
I knew that this wasn't a $1.00 per person in America so I looked up the prices of all of the ingredients that were used here (as if I had none of them at home) and it came out to $14.00. It comes out to $2.33 per person for a family of 6. That really is quite good. Nice job, Jamie! By the way, I looked at prices in stores that I shop in northern Massachusetts/Southern New Hampshire. I am sure prices are higher or lower elsewhere in the US.
thank you for doing the homework and sharing. Were those portions you measured same sizes as Jamie's recipe or what you all are used to eat to satiety? I live in a remote village in Canada and my price per portion was lower then yours.
god bless you Jamie one of the very best, actually trying to help us get through these tough times. much respect
Making this tonight. Every recipe I try of yours is wonderful. You are my favorite.
I love your family cooing recipes so much. It’s the kind of food I grew up on. I know, I was very lucky.
Made this fantastic loved the whole programme. Others recipes to try can’t wait 😛
Great recipe and mindful of difficult times, well done jaime x
I love these 1£ videos. Thanks Jamie
Talk about relevant. Bravo. First, I love how he describes things as being joyful and optimistic. What a wonderful idea to get these things from cooking. Second, I had no idea about some of the energy-saving tips he shared. So helpful, so relevant, and so bang on. Thank you.
I think it's very good! I love your recipes!🙂
I watch all of your videos because I love the way you cook and I am learning so much about how to stop food waste, something I really wanted to learn. Thank you, and for the great recipes. Question, I’m a vegetarian. Do you make a vegetarian loaf? If so, would you do a recipe video on it, please?
Your simply the best... greetings from Roermond in the Netherlands ❣️❤️❤️❣️❤️❤️❣️❤️
Looks amazing ❤❤
You’re truly Master Chef 👨🍳
Tried it, loved it. Thanks a bunch. With love from the Netherlands.
Oh my dear!! Love Jamies food!
Trying this tonight with my own variations, pepper sauce and brocolli. Thx for the inspiration Jaimie!
Have to try !!!!
great!! more and more such cheap and fast meals. thanks a lot
Jamie is to cooking what Joe Wicks is to exercise - someone who's never forgotten his humble roots and we are the better for having him among us. Arise Sir Jamie - it won't be long, son!!! x
this is why i love Jamie! :D
Looks absolutely amazing....
So amazing meatloaf recipes👌😋👍
Thanks you Jamie🙏🤩🙏
My family’s dinner tomorrow’s night💕
Such a great recipe thank you Jamie
Great show thank you. Food is much cheaper in England than in Canada. Soon we will starve here.
Just made this, halving all the ingredients for two adults. Very nice, although the carrots were still a bit hard after 20 minutes simmering. Next time I would parboil them. I would say that the full quantities would only be enough for 4 adults, or for a larger family which includes young children.
Maybe next time grate the carrots, I'm making this tomorrow and will grate them instead
Can’t get mince pork in France… I suppose one could make it with mince beef ? It makes my mouth water…🤗🌈💐
Thankyou Jamie ,this recipe looks so tasty and affordable too ,I’m definitely going to be trying this one .I never would have thought to put olive oil into mashed potatoes, as you can tell I’m no chef😂 💙.take care ..👍
Nice one Jamie please bring a 1 pound wonder book out love it
Good work Jamie. Top bloke & varied recipes😃🤩
The dish was delicious and comforting!
I replaced the bread with a heaping spoonful of ground flax and chia and it came out soft and fluffy😋
Finally! A chef that understands how expensive it is for us everyday folk to use the oven
DEEEELICIOUS, I HAD ALL THE INGREDIENTS AND MADE THIS TONIGHT , IT IS DELICIOUS, IT'S JUST MY HUSBAND AND I THESE DAYS SO I ADJUSTED ACCORDINGLY, HE LOOOOVED IT!!! THANK YOU JAMIE SO VERY MUCH FOR A QUICK AND ECONOMICAL DINNER ❤
❤NEED MORE JAMIE.❤ Don't want to watch anyone else. Your passion is unsurpassed.❤
This is delicious
Another tip put some broccoli or green beans on a steaming trivet above your potatoes whilst they are cooking for a extra veg hit😉
Sounds great!

I thought last nights show on channel 4 was fantastic, really good work from Jamie and his team.
Glad you enjoy it!
Furthermore, oregano is the only herb that's better when dried than fresh. My parents used to take us to the mountains, and we gathered fresh oregano which later we dried it out and oh my God, the aroma was divine. Actually, even when it was still fresh it was robust but perhaps too overpowering if used more than needed.
Actually, oregano isn't the only one, same goes for marjoram, better dried than fresh, especially if you rub it in your fingers while adding to a dish. Possibly there are more herbs like that!
@@presstmoded i think marjoram is just cultivated oregano so probably thats why
@@presstmoded Never tried marjoram, thanks for letting me know.
No, marjoram is an herb all on its own, look it up 🙂
While they are both from the same mint family, oregano is more woodsie and strong while marjoram is more sweet.
I came here expecting to mock Jamie for being out of touch.
His tips all make sense, and the food looked really tasty.
Way to go Jamie thanks .
Great job Jamie
Thanks a lot 👍👍👍👍🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🥀🍂🍃🌹🍃🍂🌹🍃🍂🥀
Brilliant recipe 👍🏻, if you could make a week's worth of these that use similar ingredients that can be used across all the meals that would be a great next book 🤣
Genial!
Saving energy.... Interesting times.

Good work Jamie. I knew you’d be working on how to help people through all of this.
Maybe you could even bring back some of Marguerite Patten’s insanely creative wartime recipes 😊
I've still got my first cookbook from 1975, Maguerite Patten's Everyday cook book.
@@evelynhillier2877 oh lovely! I was only born in 76 but have collected quite a few of her books in the last few years. I’ll be using her Christmas Pudding recipe this year from her Pressure Cookery book. I have a Cooking on a Budget type book of hers too and I was thrilled to discover it actually described how to prepare an animal head to cook it. Sounds like a strange thing to get excited about, but I’ll be starting to raise my own meat soon and I will want to use everything. I’ve learnt so much from her!
@@evelynhillier2877 I only recently got rid of my copy.
Bonjour monsieur Oliver vous êtes un super cuisinier vos recettes sont très biens certains assaisonnements ne sont pas distribués en France
Suggestions from India: can you make pav bhaji (bread and veggie)
Looks great. You can swap the meat with chickpeas btw for a vegan variant of the meatloaf, patties etc. Tates just as good with the same consistency.
Good idea. Lentils would probably be a good addition too
Add a bit of lemon zest to the meatloaf mix. Benefits the flavour for me.
i like Miguel Barclays recipes too^^
You need to start doing some air fryer recipes aswell Jamie seeing as no one can afford to use a conventional oven anymore.
Great idea!
"Old Bay" spices would do as well.
Top!
❤❤❤
👍👍👍
what a depressive world we live in where jamie oliver give you advice on how to boil water cheaper
😋😋😋😋
Is that black box grater a JO product?
Süper 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯..

Good budget meal I can’t eat pork so i will use beef mince instead but good recipe
Looks quite nice and I’ll give it a go but will have to either leave out or find an alternative for the cheese ( damn allergies) like I do with quite a few recipes that look good and yummy.
Maybe do £1 a day breakfast lunch and dinner for one for £1
Почти изобрели котлеты, так держать))
Not just good quality ingredients for a cheap price, but ways to save on energy bills too
Sundee roast 😂
Maybe we eat a bit too much but 50üg Meat would not be enough for 6 of is tbh. But it's a nice recipe. Thank you 😀
Twizzles !!!!!!
👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
On my to defrost my pork mince! Guess whats for dinner tomorrow 😋
Can you use brown bread please?
When you strain the potatoes, have the colander over a bowl to catch the boiling water, which you can then pour into a hot water bottle.
And then use in the night to combat night starvation, perhaps with some pot noodles.
@@octagon12011 Yes. And then when you do a pot noodle poo, poo the poo into a thin bag to trap the warmth, which you can then take back to bed with you (knot tied) for increased energy transference efficiency.
