  • Hey everyone!
In today's video we show you what a day in the life of a macaw during lockdown looks like. During lockdown, caring for a macaw can be challenging, as they're faced with boredom and a lack of enrichment. We show you how we care for our blue and gold macaw Shelby when we're stuck indoors during lockdown, and when the weather isn't great. Sometimes people ask can you take your macaw out when its cold, and we always say yes. Her flying keeps her warm! (Don't take a bird out if it isn't freeflight trained!)
Our daily routine for a macaw is simple yet fun, and we hope you enjoy watching a baby macaw's daily routine.

Tape on your wellies that's genius, I just true out my wellies because they were leaking now I can't get new ones because of lockdown ...ahh ..I got 16 new subs yesterday and I'm not uploading much yet because I don't love the quality of the footage from my phone ..I have a new battery ordered for my canon so when I get that I'll be recording every move my Macaw makes...lol still only 66 subs but that's good in 2 months ..I think..

Ah thank you! We actually use our dogs old crate that he grew out of. We installed a piece of wood as a perch across the middle.

What sized dog crate do y’all use in the car? We’re bringing home a baby B&G early next year and we have a bit of a drive home with him or her and want to be SUPER prepared. Also, if you have any tips for travel, or the things that are essential for a new macaw that would be amazing. So hard to find on UA-cam! Thank you!❤️❤️

Do you live in a detached house 🏡- surely you cannot live in a terraced house - with a squeaking squawking bird that loud- the neighbours will NOT be happy..

We have neighbours on one side and they love the birds. Infact our entire village adore seeing them and hearing them. Much nicer and far less frequent than barking dogs. We adapt to hearing pigeons and crows constantly. It’s no different to that, just a different type of bird sound
