I had a very close friend who spent his last leave here in Lancaster, Ohio hanging out with me before he left for Vietnam in 1969. He was killed in a firefight with the Viet Cong in Jan of 1970. He was from Sugar Grove Ohio and his name was Gary Morris a proud Green Beret. It has been 54 years this past Jan that he gave his life for his country. I volunteered for Vietnam duty as a US Air Force solder in 1971 because of my friends sacrifice. I still miss you today Gary, you are not forgotten.

@@wiiliamsmith2881 Sgt. Barry Saddler was fighting communist Guerillas in Guatemalla when he was shot in the head. He survived initially and was moved to a hospital in Tennesee I believe, where he was in a coma for about 6 weeks, before his heart stopped working. He died on November 5, 1989.

I would leave God out of Vietnam and the killing we did over there in a land that did no harm to America. I would honor the soldier that followed orders and served in Vietnam and leave it at that. They did their job and are entitled to our respect.

i always thought the american uniform stood out. i served in the navy, but these guys look sharp. but is it ok to where combat boots with a dress uniform? navy required dress shoes is the reason i'm asking.
It is a perk of being airborne. Those are not just boots they are paratroopper boots
