As I'm watching this, my daughter(7) yells over my shoulder "Hey! That man looks like you". I'm just not that good of a guitarplayer yet. Awesome bit of kit this is!
My daughters just said the same except my beards no where near as red 😂
Daughters watching over the shoulder is so cute. Mine loves when Brandon D’Eon yells “NOW JUST LEAVE.”
Awesome! Congrats!!! Looks great! 💯👍🏻👍🏻🎸
BEAUTIFUL !! I picked up a Carvin KOA in 1993 ebony fretboard for my journey at MI. Love Keisel/Carvin old school. You're guitar is AMAZING!
Stunning guitar that’s found its rightful owner. Love everything about it, especially the natural swamp ash body. Enjoy and can’t wait to see more Kiesel guitar videos
YES!! I love the antique swamp ash I’ve been waiting for someone to get that guitar looks sick
Great video! Absolutely stunning A2! Killer tone with those dimarzios too! I got a Thanos shipping out to me and I'm ordering my A2 on black Friday and can't wait to spec mine out! Definitely might go with rawtone finish now! Thanks for the killer review!
beautiful guitar , looks and sounds great !
I have heard of Kiesel until recently. I have to say they really look fantastic and are prices very reasonably for what you are getting imo. Would love to try one some day
Wow, looks great sounds great. Can’t wait to build my first.
Beautiful playing! That guitar looks and sounds amazing
Transparent finishes look amazing on ash. I had a 7-string from S7G that had a similar finish, and it just looked incredible….
Have fun with your new tool!!
Been tempted to get a Kiesel for a while now !
She's a stunner, beautiful finish. Buzzed for you, enjoy!
Awesome as always!
Congratulations & Enjoy!
We have so many options it's difficult to choose. I finally found my fav all-around guitar, but I also have a fav hardtail and fav floating trem models.
Difficult to choose only one guitar for everything IMO; happy I finally got it down to 3 models 🤣
Can’t wait to see the next one you get!
S W E E E E T! Beautiful looking and terrific sound! Well deserved and looking forward to all the creative works you will share with us on this new beauty! ENJOY!
So happy for you man! The finish is as gorgeous as ergonomic! I'm waiting for my dreams Vigier since June 2022 lol
It's beautiful, sounds great, congratulation :-)
Super nice looking and sounding guitar!
The neck, fretboard and inlays look so good 😎
That thing looks & sounds Sick !
That fingerboard is outstanding. Congrats on the new guitar.
Sounds awesome!
The guitar turned out great! So pleased for you and the journey your on. But you left out a couple of things. It’s not just entertain. You also educate and inspire!
I have always associated you with your green pickguard Ibanez and now this gorgeous looking and sounding Keisel will be it! I am thankful to be able to watch your content, listen to you play and most of all to learn from you. In your previous video you played in the styles of the maestros of guitars, well you are a legend in your own right and people are already trying to learn and play like you. :)
Thank you so much! That means a lot! 😊🙏
Such an awesome guitar in every sense, the look, the sound, everything looks great. And for sure it helps you to pull out the best part of you and your playing. I love your content a lot but this video just demostrate how beast of guitar player you are in all sense. You must one of the most versatile and shreddring guitar player in the UA-cam. This was incredible to look.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoy the content! 😁🙏
Awesome video dude, I can't wait to get one for me
That’s a cracking versatile guitar - sounds great Jamie. Nice to see it’s in the hands of a truly talented musician - really looking forward to all the great music you’ll be making with it. Congrats. Enjoy 😉 👍
that's my favorite pickup combo. I'm also a Keisel player
amazing build. congrats!
Thanks!
i love how everyones dream guitar is vastly different
Yep, one of the reasons I'm so glad there are great custom shops out there. We're not limited to buying some other person's dream.
yet all of them are fundamentally just super strats
Not only everyone's dream guitar is different but every person's dream guitar changes at least several times throughout their lifetime
the problem with kiesel dream guitars, is you'll end up having a dream second guitar but the idea that anyone's "dream" would be a bolt on makes me question their sanity.
Absolutely LOVE your build my brother. I have similar options on a Zeus 7 myself. Swamp Ash (Antique Finish - Raw Tone), Jumbo Frets, (Birds Eye vs. Flame Roasted Maple), Abalone inlays,. White Polarity Pick up with Gold Poles. No gold hadware available for headless models unfortunately. Cheers, enjoy the guitar!
I like the workhorse yet luxurious look of the guitar. Just slays with the Dimarzios.
😁🙏
raw tone was the right choice. glossy finishes are finger print magnets and always looked kind of gaudy to me. also that fingerboard is really beautiful, damn.
I’m very happy I went with Raw Tone 😁
Wow...I really want one. Never had a Keisel before. I must pursue 😊
On my bucket list now!
SWEET !!!
I am looking forward to your second. To me the perfect guitar is your numbers guitar. I get you want an all a rounder though, and those pickups do look great on it, those gold posts and green inlay is awesome, so classy. When my pink numbers comes in, I might order a master grade numbers. We shall see.
How blessed you are!
My favourite pickup set!
Great guitar and even greater playing!
Thanks a lot!
That guitar is absolutely gorgeous man! Congrats!
Thanks! 😁
Congrats Jamie! Happy for you! Guitar is really cool))
Thanks! 😁🙏
been to their showroom / factory in escondido CA
those are some fine instruments
I was as thrilled as you when I seen how amazing that thing looks 😍 and sounds great too
P.s. - would love a new exercise to practice 😊
Thanks! 😁 will do!
Killer guitar. Ordered an S6X and love it
Nice guitar! I also use the Tone Zone/Air Norton set. Been using it for years. Best pickup combo on earth. The maple neck on that ax is just gorgeous and a good reason why I tend to prefer maple, besides it's tonal characteristics. Kiesel makes some very fine instruments. Nice playing too!
I like the way you show the tones on a slightly driven chain
It’s fun just to watch you play it, can’t image how it is to actually play!
I had to edit out literally 20 minutes of me playing it because I got a little carried away 😂
Really nice guitar
good playing broooooooo
Jesus, that is some sick playing!
I will be able to play like you. In like 200 years.
Very nice fiddle, man!
Never thought DiMarzio can sound that clean!
Great.
The neck heel on the A2 is definitely an improvement over the O.G. Aries heel, which I already preferred over many other brand's heels, even some AANJ. The slight contour on that beveled face of it makes for a nice "handshake". The forearm contour is a little less than the standard Aries, but then it also has a deeper belly cut. And, if you get a top wood, the aesthetics are a bit more balance because the bevel is a little smaller, and then there's also the small bevel on the treble. On the Aries, I am not generally the biggest fan of the "layered" look, but on my A2, I did get a top and think it looks great.
Looks like a million bucks !
First of all, man those chops! Great playing.
But yeah, I'm having intense jealousy of all the A2 builds out there, and yours looks fantastic. I'm wracking my brains to think of a justification for one that serves a purpose not already covered by my original-style neck-thru and bolt-on Aries guitars. Plus I have at least one bucket list guitar next in line ahead of another Kiesel.
Being lefty I have a Carvin and a few Kiesels. Well worth it.
I have 4 sets of DiMarzios of 4 of my Kiesels. All JP sets, Air Norton/Steve's Special, Liquifire/Crunch Lab, Sonic Ecstasy and Rainmaker/Dreamcatcher. I've ordered 25 and currently have 15😂 I have 2 A2s. Wiring for Kiesel is neck hum, neck single, both single, bridge single, bridge hum
Yeah that guitar is downright sexy 🥰 a comfort built workhorse that looks absolutely amazing and plays like butter 🧈. Great choice on the pickups as well I love how it looks and sounds ! The test shred will have to be enough to satisfy my curiosity as to how it actually plays but I will take your word for it! ! 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻 love the channel, your guitars 🎸and your playing! 😊
Thanks so much! 😁🙏
I love kiesel guitars, maybe because of I have an old 1980 Carvin cm130. It's full maple with ebony fretboard singlecut guitar and maybe the most comfortable of all that I had before. Slim and comfy neck, awesome access to the 24th fret (maybe even better than on your aries), and absolutely crazy electronics. It has 2 humbuckers with classic 3 way selector and 2 switches which split coils and one that change the phase of pickups. Not very useful for me, but very interesting. And it gave a lot pain in my ass when I had to change potentiometers.
My Lord! It’s a Kiesel ❤❤❤
Oh yeah..the guitar is here...open open...haven't seen yet, video still playing
There should be a baritone Kiesel guitar called the DIESEL KIESEL
Would you mind sharing the build details you specified for this guitar, and also curious what the ballpark would be for a similar guitar.(My 23 yo son is returning a Guitar Center guitar and planning to order a Kiesel himself.) It would be so helpful if you would consider doing a sort of build seminar for more intermediate players so they know what choices there are and which would be worth asking for and why. He can order his "dream" guitar as of right now, but it might be helpful to others as well to understand how to try to build a special guitar that would stand the test of time as a player ages and improves.
It’s a good idea! A lot of it comes down to personal preferences. Things like fret size, neck profile, pickups, and even body shape. Honestly, any of Kiesel’s builds without any real “upgrades” would be an amazing guitar that will handle all types of playing. My new one that I just unveiled last week on here had basically no upgrades. It was $1950USD and it plays like a dream and is one of my favourite guitars now.
If you want any of the features I have on this guitar. Call Kiesel and ask for what I have and they’ll be able to hook you up.
Thanks!
Ever try dimarzios lower output pickups like the paf master set or the 36th anniversary set. I’ll never go back to higher output. So much more articulation with lower output pups

Ok , so I been on the fence with air nortons and tone zone , Ibanez makes a host of guitars with these humbuckers in therm. However , once you add distortion , that blew me away , it was 1980's EVH all over again. Now I definately want to pick up a set of these pickups. lol
That’s exactly what I thought! Definitely some EVH tone 😁👍
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉. Mind if i ask what you think of Fishman Fluence pickups?
I've never actually played them! I've always loved the sound I get from DiMarzios :)
Dayumn
Hello Jamie, congratulations on the beautiful guitar. What's the fretboard neck?
Thanks! The neck is Roasted Maple and the fretboard is Roasted Flamed Maple 😊
I've purchased two Carvin/Keisel b
That's a amazing guitar! Is the neck roasted maple?
It is! 😁
To meet your specification at 2:25, may I suggest a Telecaster..?
9:06
pretty cool
Your hands remind me of Paul Gilbert and Steve Vai. Such great economy of motion.
Nice guitar and wood and color and sounds great .....Definitely the craftsmanship and finish of Kiesel is one of the best, personally I do not like Kiese; headstock and body shape, wish they make a simple super strat like a charvel san dimas or many other brands..in that case I would buy one right away
Try a multi scale by them. Idk why but they shred easier and more comfortable. Maybe you can get lower action with MS?
My rainbow sparkle 25.5 scale Aries is getting less play than my A2 run multi scale guitar. The Aries is comparable to my Ibanez Prestige but my Vader MS 8 string and a2 MS 6 string blow the Ibanez out the water.
I thought the Aries would be my everyday guitar but I was wrong it’s the multi scale a2.
(I have tendinitis in my right hand and forming in my left not as bad. I broke my pinky earlier this year. Multi scale helped tremendously.)
Was that song playing in the beginning something you wrote? It was very Satriani esque. Big compliment from me.
did you go into detail on the trem? I think you just mentioned it was gold hardware. I have owned a Vader before which had the Hipshot trem and loved that, but for a guitar like yours I think you have chosen the appointments well. What is that trem??
It’s the Kiesel Hipshot trem! I absolutely love it. Stays in tune so well. Maintenance/intonation is super easy and you still get some crazy whammy action!
That’s one SEXY guitar god damn
Can someone please send this man a Caparison already. He’ll use it wisely
What's the action height like? My Aries has fret buzz low E at about 4/64 height. Yours sounds clean. I also have been wanting to get the same exact pickups in mine. Wonder if they dropped right in.
?
Do you have the JB numbers guitar?
Is it the swamp ash, the 1 piece swamp ash, or the roasted 1 piece swamp ash? Looking to get that same wood for a guitar at Kiesel but I can't find that gorgeous color on their builder online.
It’s the regular Swamp Ash body wood with the Antique Ash finish. If you call them, use my guitar as a reference 👍😊
no mention of the output jacks???
A typical Ibanez pickup selection, but without the versatile Ibanez wiring (i.e. inner/outer coils in the 2 & 4 positions).
is the nut 42m? or 42.9m?
i love your playing man. How long have u been playing? I have been playing rhythms for almost 2 years and now extensively learning scales. I am 35 at the moment and one music school told me a bit older :( am I too old to learn and improvise? I am very very passionate and doing everything on my own
Not at all man! You’re about 40 years YOUNGER than my oldest student 😂. It’s really amazing what can be accomplished in 2-3 years with consistent practice. If you’re passionate about it, just enjoy playing and learning. Learn the music you enjoy and enjoy the process. You can really improve your playing by learning lots of music and trying to play WITH the music. This is crucial because it gives you external pressure and allows you to work on your timing, rhythm, technique, memorization in a fun way!
@@jamierobinson777 how can i join your classes?
Any reason why you chose the Hipshot Tremolo over the Gotoh?
Are you still happy chosing Jumbo oder MedJumbo?
Not really, just because it's more proprietary to Kiesel and I wanted to try it. But the bridge is amazing and stays in tune great (check my recent Pantera cover for proof!). I actually like both the medium-jumbo and jumbo frets. I'm happy with the Jumbo frets for this guitar, but could go either way with future builds :)
How do I buy it?
What about the Hipshot/Kiesel trem? Can you do serious dive bombs with it?
Yeah, it’s amazing! Check out my recent cover of Domination as an example 😁👍
Does The Kiesel Hipshot Trem Stay In Tune?? 🎸
Is that a hipshot trem? Do you use it at all? If not why not spec a hard tail?
It is the Kiesel hipshot trem. I don’t like hard tails unless it’s a Les Paul style guitar, always nice to have the tremolo option. This bridge is awesome because it’s easy maintenance and stays in tune!
It has been two weeks now. Now that the intensity of the initial “honey moon” phase has subsided, do you feel like you’ve accomplished finding the guitar that you can bring everywhere and use for everything like Vai and his EVO or Eddie and his Frankenstrat?
Or do you find yourself still reaching for another guitar from your collection? (Maybe 2 weeks isn’t long enough to answer this)
I haven’t played another guitar since I got this one 😂 it’s definitely that guitar for me. I think it comes across in my latest improv video how comfortable I am with it already 😁
if i put those pickups in a gibson, it would sound the same no?
Not exactly. I’m assuming the scale length of the kiesel is 25.75 like a fender. It would be close but the placement of the pickups on the body and scale length matters a little bit. If you put those in a Gibson les Paul it would 95% the same
How much did it roughly cost you?
I've purchased two Carvin/Keisel builds. Both CT-6'S. 1st was back in 2004..the 2nd being in 2018. Must say the first one is the only one i play, have used it countless hours. The 2018..although beautiful, is a stale sounding instrument. You're smart going with the dimarrizo pickups..
