- In a year of atrocity and war in Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank, protest and activism rocked the University of Victoria. On the eve of the US elections, Peter Beinart, a leading journalist of the Jewish American left, and Neilesh Bose, UVic, discuss the causes and consequences of protest for US politics, the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions movement, freedom of speech, and the future of the region.
Peter Beinart is Professor of Journalism and Political Science at the City University of New York. He is Editor-at-Large of _Jewish Currents_, a frequent contributor to MSNBC, and a fellow at the Foundation for Middle East Peace. His books include _The Crisis of Zionism_.
Lecture co-sponsored by The Centre for Studies in Religion and Society, UVic Humanities, History, Writing, English, Law, and the Centre for Global Studies,
