kids will look at games today and laugh as they log into it and play it in a vr world and same with movies. will beable to be the star or just witness it all as a bystander in the movie.
this was awesome when we were kids, me and my cousin would play 2player and we could both get to level 5 the 3rd time around :) that was worth 10p each... we used to have other kids in the arcade gathering around watching us... Our 2 names were top spot until that machine probably got scrapped... :) happy memories
It's funny how my memories as a kid are tied to video games so much. I remember that this game was at our local skating rink. Only place I ever remember seeing it.
Loved this game as a 9 year old. Was scared to play it as a kid. But when you get into it....wow....my heart would race and I would feel the adrenaline rush.
I loved this game back in the day. Could never get past the boss at the end of the 4th floor. If only we'd had the internet back in the 80s I could've looked up how to do it.
That hunchback wizard thingy did for me back in the day... I remember a friend of mine beat the big boss only to get mullered by one of those flying kiddies at the end..!!
I remember back in 88 when i use to annoy the older teenagers who would play this at the fish and chips shop by shouting ( go there, kick, him, hurry hurry, cmon cmon, do a fly kick ) and at the end one of them was like ( SHUT UP !!!
a friend of mine had this for the commodore 64 ...I was jealous. .. I hadn't even a blank tape to record the top 40. ...sad times....alchol was my saviour. ...ooooohhhh well. ..that's belfast for ye.....
I was thinking the exact same thing... plus, how did she call out for help through the gag? I'm starting to think that Sylvia and her real boyfriend are messing with Thomas's head
in my college days i'd complete it 3 times over and had name at the top of the scoreboard, then one day some kid in a bright yellow snorkel jacket beat my score and I was livid!

Great 80s Arcade Fight Games: Kung Fu Master, Shaolin Road, Double Dragon, P.O.W, Street Smart, Final Fight, Crime Wave, Ring King, Punch Out, Ye-Air Kung Fu (personal fav).
Lt.Dan great game I remember this was in an ice cream parlor as a kid and I think it sat next to Punch Out, the game is epic to the max! Thanks for sharing.
Kung Fu Master 1984 back in Chicago Illinois at a restaurant called mini boo restaurant around 59th place Mr Anderson on all that stuff back in the day and that same restaurant you can buy food fast food with food stamps I couldn't believe that but that was my favorite arcade game when I was 13 years old back in Chicago Illinois I miss my old hometown and I missed all those great '80s arcade games TV shows cartoon shows Chicago bulls Michael Jordan back in '86 my first playoff game on TV against the old Boston Celtics at the old Boston garden Jordan lit up the Boston Celtics 69 points then what a good old days
I would love a next gen version and up grades to Kung Fu game but make it about Bruce Lee. 30 Level game of many different dragon sprits coming up against him but give him powers and weapons. I believe it's time for a new Bruce Lee Kung Fu game.
The new Bruce Lee games I were thinking are 5 action-stealth ones that are M-rated, and are a retelling of his blockbuster films. • Fist of Fury: The Big Boss • Fist of Fury: The Chinese Connection • The Way of the Dragon • Enter the Dragon • Game of Death (a complete version of the story based on Lee's original script) The devs: Maybe either the ones who made Yakuza, Tenchu, SIFU, or heck… even Metal Gear's Hideo Kojima.
I found this addictive and pretty hard! The NES version wasn't nearly as hard! I was pretty impressed with myself when I beat it! It did a lot for my self esteem! "Finally I'm good at something!" I thought to myself! Was like 10 years old! Not as good as the person playing it here!
In a way at arcades we were sorta like the twitch streamers of long ago. Other kids would come and watch me play certain games and I'd watch other gamers with games I wasn't good at to pick up some tips next time I played that particular game and learn off each other. Ahhh those were the good ol' days 👴👌
I mostly played this on Atari. I played it at a restaurant once and yeah the graphics are good. Sad that restauarnt is dead. Had some really good times there.
i remember playing this to death during school lunchtime at one of my local chip shops. was late to afternoon classes when i finally beat the 5th level boss.. but not too late, as i didn't try too hard when i realised you were just sent to the start again (tho with harder foes) after completing! (our local chippies had some great arcade games; double dragon, arian mission, gryzor, yie ar kung fu, ikari warriors, to name but a few!)
You know, I think the NES version (Kung Fu) played more crisply than this game does. The control is more responsive, the animation is less awkward... it makes a big difference.
The NES version is substantially less brutal. Tapping buttons will get you out of a grapple, the arcade insists you move the joystick The difficulty about floor 4 on NES game B is about the standard of the difficulty on arcade
I remember walking into this little hole in the wall store that was a cheap 711, and they had this, awww so amazing. Given their every time we would go, I would be amazed at it and try to play it, but I really sucked, then I remember getting this version on the Nintendo... Thinking damn I really got ripped off 🤣🤣🤣
Bit Bar Arcade in Lakewood, Ohio has this game. I figured if I watched this video, I would be able to beat it, since I haven't played in awhile. Thanks. I'm gonna shock the world ha ha
simon parker I actually grew up playing the Atari 2600 and the Commodore so I know I'm getting pretty old! The kids these days don't even know what a real joystick feels like! =S
My first three video games I played was Space Invaders, Asteroids, and Pac Man. I had them all on my Atari's. I also had Coleco Vision. Then I got a Nintendo and played Super Mario Brothers drunk because playing sober was too easy.
simon parker have you seen this version? ua-cam.com/video/hnkeVww5XZM/v-deo.html it only came out in Japan and it's incredibly hard compared to our version!
Why didn't their happiness last long? Because happily ever after was just for fairy tales? The game was trying to trick you into playing again? I grew up on the NES version
Kids would look at this today & laugh. This was an awesome game back when it first came out
kids will look at games today and laugh as they log into it and play it in a vr world and same with movies. will beable to be the star or just witness it all as a bystander in the movie.
I know tell me about it cuz it's a good game
They can laugh all they want, but they'd get their tails kicked in just the same.
I’m a 16 year old looking at this wondering why it hasn’t been remade or why the game style hasn’t ever been reused before.
Game style has been emulated in a number of games - Rush n' Attack, Bad Dudes, and Shinobi are just a few examples.
When this game came into the arcades it was really an amazing game! Its graphics were some of the best at the time!
As a massive streets of rage and final fight fan, respect. This is where it all started.
I'm still playing this 🙏❤
this was awesome when we were kids, me and my cousin would play 2player and we could both get to level 5 the 3rd time around :) that was worth 10p each... we used to have other kids in the arcade gathering around watching us... Our 2 names were top spot until that machine probably got scrapped... :) happy memories
Man I was 18 years old when this was in the arcades.I was obsessed with .this game.
If she was able to untie herself, is a sign that she is involved. Watch your back Thomas...
It's funny how my memories as a kid are tied to video games so much. I remember that this game was at our local skating rink. Only place I ever remember seeing it.
I use to play this game at my local grocery store while my mom shopped every Friday!!! Damn I miss being a kid!!!!!
Now this brings back some memories. The good ole days.... absolute classic
Loved this game as a 9 year old. Was scared to play it as a kid. But when you get into it....wow....my heart would race and I would feel the adrenaline rush.
She then unties herself at the end 💯😎
That's why he left?
love this game to bit's always look out for it in the corner of an arcade found it once!...the driving music and nonstop action total magic!
Thomas after finishing the game: "Ah shit, here we go again..."
It's almost as if he was told, _"Thank you, Thomas, but your Sylvia is in another Devil's Temple."_
Great memories of this on the C64 and the Arcade in the 80’s 😊
They had this in my local video shop!!! We'd all crowd round it and watch each other play it!!😂
3:29
OOF-OOF
I first played this game in 1986 on an Arcade machine in Luxembourg at the Cactus Shopping Center.
I loved this game back in the day. Could never get past the boss at the end of the 4th floor. If only we'd had the internet back in the 80s I could've looked up how to do it.
Games these days are more about the story rather than game play. Love the oldschool arcade classics.
stay mad
sorry that was too far
@@westonallen5349
I cant help being mad about all the shitty woke modern video games we get these days.
@@westonallen5349 it was a bit harsh fella :)
any kids thinking this old game looks lame and easy should download and play it... And see how hard it is! Takes skills to make it look this easy!
That hunchback wizard thingy did for me back in the day...
I remember a friend of mine beat the big boss only to get mullered by one of those flying kiddies at the end..!!

Legend has it Thomas and Silvia are still enjoying happiness again for a little while, in between Thomas' rampaging through ninja fortresses.
This and Moon Patrol were the best.
Yeah GAY patrol was fun
Legend.
a friend of mine had this for the commodore 64 ...I was jealous. ..
I hadn't even a blank tape to record the top 40. ...sad times....alchol was my saviour. ...ooooohhhh well. ..that's belfast for ye.....
Hey brother are you still around?
Silvia is a bitch! She unties herself after all the struggle that Thomas had to go through. XD
This was the arcade version of Bruce Lee’s Game of Death back in the day
"HELP ME, THOMAS!" WOW, that is the most ineffective gag EVER.
Jazzypants2007 lol the laughing is straight creepy though!
Not to mention the ropes bonding her break at the mere sight of Thomas.
IT'S ONLY A GAME !!!! I suppose next you'll be telling me that films are unrealistic ? ! : )
You can't beat an old classic video game like this.
We just now watched someone beat it.
The knife-throwing guy used to drive me crazy!
Silvia is so grateful for being rescued her hair changes color the instance she hugs Thomas, also how is it she can free herself all along?
I was thinking the exact same thing... plus, how did she call out for help through the gag? I'm starting to think that Sylvia and her real boyfriend are messing with Thomas's head
No she couldn't just free herself at any time: Only when it was funny ua-cam.com/video/NtfHaJKW1zQ/v-deo.html
**casually walks up stairs**
Back when games were GAMES :)
in my college days i'd complete it 3 times over and had name at the top of the scoreboard, then one day some kid in a bright yellow snorkel jacket beat my score and I was livid!
Matthew Owens snorkel jacket?!lolllll

Matthew Owens I had no idea, it looks like something they were wearing in Antartica!

loved Yie-Ar Kung Fu
@@JD-xt8cj Nice, mostly when I mention that people don't remember it. Bad Dudes was great also, here's an obscure one, Teddy Boy Blue.
I have this on my mame cabinet my best run was to finish it twice and 2nd stage . A truly awesome game
Would take a long time to get out of that building from the 5th floor if there was a fire lol. :D
Use to play this game at 7-Eleven when I was a kid.
The best arcade game ever!!!...N*2 Has to be paperboy
***** right awesome game used to love playing this as a kid!
this and mat mania is all i played in the arcade 25 years ago
Lt.Dan great game I remember this was in an ice cream parlor as a kid and I think it sat next to Punch Out, the game is epic to the max! Thanks for sharing.
Mat Mania!!! Coco Savage is the toughest SOB in all of arcade history Haha
yes!!!!
use shoulder toss to beat him!!!!
+Lt.Dan shoulder block him into oblivion.
Best game soundtrack ever!
it took me a while to realize that this game involves sampled shouts
*The Note:* "...5 SONS OF THE DEVIL WILL ENTERTAIN YOU."
*Thomas:* _"Two of them had best be Cher and gott-daymn Celine Dion, or I'm out this bytch."_
masterpieces
Used to play this at Gatwick Airport in 1985 when I worked there

for some reason the laughing at 3:00 to 3:07 sure cracks me up

Imagine a, "Re-Imagining, " of this game on today's consoles & PC's!
I think you may have just described Sifu
The best part of this game is Jabba the hut laughing.
they're happiness didn't last because he found out she banged all the bosses on each floor willingly lol.
You know, I think the NES version (Kung Fu) played more crisply than this game does. The control is more responsive, the animation is less awkward... it makes a big difference.
The figures, including the protagonist all look like dwarves on the nes version, disabled dwarves.
Agreed, and I love this version too, but the NES/FC version simply controls and plays better.
I like the jumpkick sound better in this version but the punch and kick sound is annoying
@@djbloodshot I miss the "boy-yoy-yoing" noise the bosses make in the NES version when you knock them out.

uy this game is nice and retro.
Fun fact: Akira Toriyama of Dragonball fame based Muscle Tower around this game!
Bruce Lee's Game Of Death.
You mean to tell me she loosened the ropes herself? She didn't need his help
"Watap!?"
I remember this for the NES. I don't remember it like this though
This is far better than the NES version.
If i'm not mistaken, this is the first side-scrolling beat-em-up ever ? I'm not sure tho.
Correct. Kung-Fu Master created the beat 'em up genre.
@@RazorEdge2006 It is also a Proto-Vs. Fighting game with the boss fights and facing retreat (backstep) mechanic.
For some reason i always thought almost like Thomas was based on Bruce Lee
My life is now encriched
1984....wow this game is old.
I always hated the little jumping Pygmy guys, and the Quasimodo boss on level 4
Sounds like he keeps saying What up.
Hard to beat
"Oof oof, neeeaaarrgh !"
I have been wondering why mr x kidnaps
Sylvia maybe it's for testing Thomas skills OR HE WANTS TO KILL THOMAS
Two words: "Ararah guarah"
I could play this 2 - 3 times completely on 1 coin ;-)
Why didn't their happiness last long? Because happily ever after was just for fairy tales? The game was trying to trick you into playing again? I grew up on the NES version
You mean she could have just stood up and walked away the entire time? Not cool, Sylvia, not cool.
Bad bwoy game
When we Chiled in the afternoons in arcades playing this and double drangon and drangon ninja and Rastan
So close to the NES port except for GPX
My goodness he's beating up children in Level 2 onwards Lol!I was so shite at this game didn't get past floor 1.(Ground floor in the Uk).
Whhhgag!! Wooddaaahhh!!!
I never got past the 1st floor lol awsome game
wow , being that crap sure takes some doing :)
Deeper voice on Thomas in the version I played
What is the benefit of using more than one credit? Don't you always start from the beginning of the game?
Buenísimo ese juego me pasaba horas pateando a los malos.
MAJOR difference from the NES version. Its like whoever did the port didn't care as much.
WURA!
It's a shame the screen is stretched but good video and legendary game.
IKR?! I hate that!
