1:34:08 Chris gave a definitive answer about that in an interview published by the Entertainment Weekly right after the "My Strugglle III" premiere. He said "no" and called the Cigarette-Smoking Man "figurative father" - the creator of William, as I understand. He even used the term science, which would be extraterrestrial given William's superpowers. It is an interesting development and in line with the show's nature and its mythoIogy, but I wish the Smoking Man had called himself the "creator" in that episode to avoid the drama.
By the way, after all of that I am relieved Mulder and Scully are real parents now. I did not start as a shipper, but given the story progression - all they went through and how they supported each other - it makes perfect sense for them getting romantically involved.
Xfiles forever forever
An enthralling discussion covering many, many episodes and behind-the-scenes anecdotes. Thank you!
Best show ever. I was fortunate enough to meet David, Gillian and Chris. I told Chris Carter just how much The X-Files meant to me. I am so glad that I got to do that.
Scully's pregnancy - Giving in to the insufferable "shippers" destroyed my beautiful show.
Same with me. And Carter had moved away from "leaving it to imagination". In addition, there was this obscure dilly-dallying between religious motives and (pseudo) science babble. Moving to LA was not a good idea either. The BC landscapes were another series main character. From the sixth season on, the series was more like Twilight Zone with Mulder and Scully. At the same time, ironically, Carter's other show Millennium in some ways had become the better X Files.
It wasn't YOUR show. It was Chris Carter's and then everyone who worked on it and everyone who loved it. Why do you get to say what should or shouldn't have happened in it? There are lots of different opinions. They all matter.
@@Deepskies268You do realise that these are just your opinions and that others disagree with you?
@@mcjs8640Noromos still being a-holes and think they own the show🙄
@@KarinaModie they are right about one thing, those "shippers" are some truly pathetic people.
