- In this video, I install a Volant Cold Air Intake on my 2000 Ford Expedition. After the cheap-o intake fiasco, it was time to invest some money and buy a real cold air intake. I noticed a 2MPG gain, and a noticeable difference in acceleration. This was a very worthwhile upgrade. Follow along as I perform the installation. I just got one I'm installing today.
2000 f150 5.4 2v w/ shorty headers and 75mm throttle body. Currently untuned.

I installed the mass air flow meter backwards
And my truck turned on but turned off immediately
Could this be why, ? I installed the maf sensor backwards
Definitely. They need the air flow reading to properly run

What is already done to it mod wise?

Do you have to tune it
No, just disconnect the battery for 15 mins and itll learn the CAI.
Did you have to get a tune for it? I just installed mine and went on a 5 mile trip and used a lot of fuel. More than normal
Gotta drive alot more than 5 miles. It also never hurts to disconnect the battery to let it relearn the parameters and clean the MAF. I did not tune it
